These men are National treasures!!! They are part of a generation of REAL MEN from a time when they felt that I don't matter as much as this matters. They would gladly give their life for this Great Nation without question just show me where to go. Having been in the Navy there is a Brotherhood that you can not have any other way. It doesn't matter how much pigment your skin has, where your from, if I could trust you with my wife or a penny of my money, if I even like you, NO MATTER WHAT I HAVE YOUR BACK!!!!! God Bless America!!!!!

My heart is so full of gratitude for men like these (and women) who risked and sacrificed so much for our nation. I admire them so much! One of the best things I do in life is volunteer with Honor Flight where I am blessed to meet and get to know men like this. I'm also thankful that Mike Rowe recognizes the heroes that they are and treats them with the utmost respect.

I visited the US Aircraft carrier Midway a couple of months ago with my son. (He ships out for boot camp in the Navy in less than a month) We listened to a presentation by a former fighter pilot who flew jets off of carriers describe the procedures, actions, and thrilling adventures he had. However, there was only one time that he actually teared up. It was when he talked about the ship's crew that performed the million tasks to perfection, that allowed him to have what he described as the "best job in the world". He said "If you want to thank someone, thank them. They are the true heroes who give their all without the glory."

I love history. What a better way to learn it than hear it from the men who lived it! My hats off to these men, heroes in my book. Today's kids have no idea what people have gone through for our freedom. I like how they appreciate the work of the ground crews and point out that they are team all working together to complete the mission. Thanks for bringing this to us Mike.

Love it! Such wonderful examples of heroics and humility all at the same time. Thank you Mike Rowe for your relentless pursuit of impressing my socks off. These two wonderful gentlemen are awesome as well as the servicemen in training that had the privilege of asking them questions. Thank you so much for your service, both then and now.

Very powerful statement...understanding what he was willing to die for not what he was fighting for.
    God Bless our American Heroes.

This is an amazing discussion with these two gentlemen who are national heroes and treasures. Mike Rowe does a fantastic job of helping them to tell their stories. The respect he shows to the men he is interviewing is remarkable and shows the high esteem he holds them in.

I just want to comment on how, Lt. Colonel James H. Harvey III, a Tuskegee pilot is so down to earth, but he did have a wingman. It was his faith in God, country and his follow Tuskegee airmen.

Hey Mike, you should check into the Women's Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) and their integral role during WWII. They have a great museum dedicated to them in Sweetwater, TX right at their home base, Avenger Field, which sits right next to Texas State Technical College - West Texas so it all seems like its right up you're alley. Like these men there are damn few WASPs left and their story is rarely told.
