Pffft...there were plenty of better looking games at the time, open-world and not open-world (HL2, Postal², Soldier of Fortune II, DOOM 3, Far Cry), so let's not exaggerate. The textures (plenty of photos plastered over 3D models for most of the buildings) and cringeworthy animations (things like characters moving their jaws like they were popping Molly and elder ladies opening car doors like savages), and GTA sucked graphics-wise prior to GTA IV, but it was forgivable because no other game during that time attempted to recreate basically Sims, but with the option to slaughter people
@@beartrap8625 I'm kinda tired about this nostalgia-filled statement that early GTAs looked realistic. They didn't. I've started playing these games in the era when having a Pentium IV was a "king of the schoolyard" thing and when 100gb was plenty of hard drive space, so, I'm no skibidi toilet Fortnite-raised kid when doing these claims. Even 6-8 year-old me found early GTAs graphics weird, but I've didn't really care, the games had other stuff to offer, and San Andreas was massive for the time
I hate when people say this! 🙄. … Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, a treasure trove of nostalgic memories, often gives players a sense of childlike wonder with its relatively simple yet detail-rich graphics. As players revisit the world of San Andreas, the reminiscence of past experiences becomes more tangible due to the seemingly simpler graphics. This leads to a more immersive gaming experience where the focus is more on the story, the gameplay, and the nostalgia rather than on the visual spectacle. Let us delve into the reasons why simple graphics often invoke stronger feelings and create more vivid memories than hyper-realistic graphics. Simplicity, along with its realistic details, tends to evoke a more emotional response from players as they find themselves transported back to their childhood, reminiscing about the simpler gaming experiences of their yesteryears. The nostalgic charm also lies in the fact that the game world appears more alive and tactile, thanks to its more modest, yet detailed art style. In contrast, high-quality graphics with hyper-realism often fail to elicit the same emotions, partly because they emphasize visual fidelity over the story, the gameplay, and the overall experience. When the graphical quality is too high, it can sometimes overshadow the fun and the memories, leaving the player with a sense that they are missing out on that touch of nostalgia. It's like driving a shiny, powerful sports car without the same sense of excitement and freedom you once had while pedaling your very first bicycle. The fact that simple graphics in GTA San Andreas are imbued with subtle yet essential details renders them endearing and, in a way, more lifelike. By no means does this imply that the game suffers from a lack of visual appeal. On the contrary, San Andreas boasts a remarkable attention to detail that brings its expanded world to life. From the realistically modeled hills and natural landscapes to the urban sprawl of its major city areas and the distinct architectural styles of smaller towns, GTA San Andreas perfectly captures the sprawling diversity of the American West Coast. Without succumbing to the temptation of overly ornate visuals and staying true to its core vision, GTA San Andreas remains an iconic game that has aged remarkably well. Even as trends in gaming tend towards ever-increasing graphical fidelity, there remains something undeniably compelling about the simple graphics that make San Andreas feel both familiar and timeless. The simplistic, yet lovingly detailed art style allows players to become more engrossed in the game world without being overwhelmed by the visuals. They forge a deeper emotional connection, resulting in the game feeling more alive, more authentic, and ultimately, more nostalgic. This interconnected web of simplicity, nostalgia, and immersion, in turn, fosters a sense of intimacy between the player and the game world, making it memorable and meaningful, long after the game has been put away. The timeless appeal of San Andreas lies in striking the perfect balance between simplicity and rich, realistic detailing - embodying what that era of gaming meant to many players who grew up with it. Despite its relatively modest graphics, GTA San Andreas continues to be a beacon of nostalgia for so many, reminding them of the unbridled joy and simpler times spent playing video games.
We don’t want a very high graphics game that ruin the nostalgia making it feel on unlivey GOD WHAT A LOW IQ THINKING!!! Like you were born in 2018. Dislike comment. 👎
Id love to see GTA SA completely recreated in GTA5. If they could get the missions sorted and texture everything to be basically indistinguishable from GTA5's graphics they could use all the original audio and it would be amazing!
the video call GTA III Remake™ 2023 - Amazing Gameplay Showcase (Grand Theft Auto III Remake Concept) that is missing a turn signal in it i just saw it 1:33 to 1:37 the one taxi turn without turn signal
INTER go have a look at my Carl Johnson voice mod. Full audio replacement for Franklin also uses the same model by legendario9991 to be used to replace Franklin, I have been updating some clothes and making it more compatible with Franklin's stuff. My voice mod replaces every single mission voice line in gta 5 with freemode lines as well. Took me 3 years to do, some audio I voiced myself for missions or cutscenes and then there's a trick to that. But the rest is audio from san andreas used for freemode. Its on gta 5mods I will be updating the updated clothes when I get around to finishing them

Considering it's a modder they've done a better job than what rockstar did with the definite edition. Looks sick seeing San Andreas in gta 5 graphics. Gta 5 with rdr2 graphics would be boss aswell. GTA 6 has a big step to beat rdr2 graphics.
I didn't even grow up playing San Andreas, but I'm playing it now (on OG Xbox, and I haven't finished it yet so pls no spoilers), and I so fucking badly just want Rockstar to remake San Andreas in the GTA V engine. Nothing against the original game as I am thoroughly enjoying it but - God dammit it just feels too right. Even if certain events or locations have to be tweaked to fit in with modern Los Santos - I do not care. It just feels like an overly stupid idea for them to NOT do it at some point. They remade Los Santos and even fucking included Grove Street in it. The game is practically BEGGING to be remade!
I bitched about no spoilers but then continued watching the video like an idiot. Fuck me. Its okay I guess. I picked up on a lot of the Big Smoke traitor foreshadowing myself anyway. I was already suspecting lol
I dont understand why rockstar didnt add San Fierro and Las Venturas in PS5 expanded and enhanced and with few missions with the help of Singleplayer DLCs
After a long wait for Downloading the files. It makes me feel so sad bro. This is actually an older version apk. A 32bit apps that cannot be compatible for Android 14.
this is exactly how it felt visually the first time I played it

i'd rather the same graphics as definitive but in the rage engine (or a full ground up remake as big as the resident evil or final fantasy remakes)

What I thought the Definitive Editions were gonna be like
