Check out Moon Shade you can attach it anywhere around the van and with magnets. Not sure if you follow Let’s Ride and Seek another female couple they use moon shade.
Loved it, we've been married 37 years and dig at one another like you two. My mum says I'm the only person who can use the word "b.astard" as a term of endearment. We put c section on our motorhome and while we have a driveaway and full size awning we love our "cheap as chips" awning which goes up in minutes and isn't a "divorce in a bag". If you sikaflex c section you could move anything around whichever side the sun is on.
@@campervibe stuck it on with sikaflex 512. I weighed 21st 8 at the time and hung from it with no movement. It has a flat side to make it easy to stick.
Totally agree with the wedding plans I had 10 people at mine and spent £800 and had it in Lake District with reception by a secluded lake with music from car radio a drinks from picnic bag lol. Love your warmth and openness :) really enjoyable watching your videos:)

You both have a good sense of humour and are made for each other . Since I left the army I have not drank tea , I’m looking for a set of mud tyres for my van I have 225/75/15 on . But I will be putting the biggest that are safe for my van to 235/75/ 15 they will be mud tyres I could get 245/75/15s on but when the van is fully loaded they would rub . BREXIT will not stop you taking your pets to Europe after December the 23rd even if we leave without and trade deals. We have left the EU it’s just the deals that need sorting out but come September if no deals have been made we will be leaving with no deal . You will more likely get someone paying for you to go to the baths just to see you with your hat off

Brexit won't stop us from travelling with our pets, but depending on which category we fall into we may have to have a blood test and then a 4 month wait before we can go, that's the worry. Just discovered your channel by watching your Peak District video, think we were there at about the same time, judging by the weather. I love the way that you have included so much space in your van. Also love the way that you are being so sensible and pragmatic about your vanlife dream being put on hold for the moment. Stickers are the way to go, but do not overlook the option of T-shirts, just use a company that does POD (print on demand)... Hope to see you 2 again at the October meet maybe?

Why not just build a second high level cupboard on the passenger side? Then you will have extra storage space, Emily would get her cupboard - and Louise won't have to build a whole new van :-) Regarding the solar panel, I've installed a 200W Photonic Universe panel off Amazon - which is more square than others at 132cm x 99cm. Would that fit either lengthways - or at least not come so close to the sides, even when fitted widthways? Regarding the MaxxAir fans - are they really worth the extra expense, the extra power drain, and the reduction of light coming through the skylight? I've been in a motorhome in France several times when the temperatures were 30-40 Celsius during the day, with no forced ventilation. When it was hot, I tried not to park in the sun, but under a tree. Then, there is usually no need to spend the day inside the van when the weather is like that. Find some shade outside and relax on a comfy chair, or sunbathe, or go for a swim, or visit a shopping centre or supermarket with air conditioning :-). Also, with a door or window at the front open a bit and either one of the skylights or a rear windows open, a little pleasant draft can be created which is nice and cooling. Then again, if you want to leave a pet locked in the van, maybe a fan running constantly or kicking in automatically might be useful.
Hi seb, we can't just add another one as I wouldn't be able to sit up in bed without feeling very shut in, plus we don't have the weight left to add another cupboard and it's contents lol! I looked at the 200 watt solar panels but I felt for us we would definitely need at least 300w, and I couldn't find one small enough. Your right about the breeze tho, it's lovely when weve got the windows and skylights open, and cos the van is well insulated it rarely gets hot.
You are right about sitting up space in the bed - I thought about it too, and I will reduce the height of the cupboard above the bed. We'll see how well that works when I get to it! Good point with the weight limit - I didn't think about it. I'll have to watch out as well not to get too close to 3.5t, as it will leave less choice in what I put in. Good luck with the van mods!

One question; What is the story behind the funky brass rail and light above the bed; look really quirky (in a nice way). Louise i recently saw an awning idea you might like. It was a shallow square dome shade that was kept rigid with flexible poles like in a tent structure. I think it then clips easily onto the side of the van. If i can find a link I'll send it.

Hi Clive, thanks. The problem with renting is then it's not available if we need a bolt hole, plus all the other risks that go along with renting, I think we'd rather sell up maybe next year sooner than renting it.

Really interesting that you decided to wait to marry rather than civil partnership, same here with Alex and me. Emily made me smile with "my draining board - my wok - my hoover" I guess that lets you off the hook for washing up, cooking, and cleaning, Lou. Stickers, yes I'd love one when they are ready. Not much space in my T4 for a sticker wall, but it will get pride of place on the cab roof lining. Talking of stickers, do you have plans for a sticker wall? I think that ply at the top of the rear doors would be perfect, I'd even send you one of my stickers to start you off (when they are delivered next week that is; I'm having stickers and van decals printed to my own design.) In my opinion you have future travel plans spot on. Europe is heading for catastrophe with covid if a vaccine isn't available soon. Take care xx

Hi mick, yes we are in Spain now, and the weather is great! We used Barratts tanks for the water and waste tanks, and autogas 2000 for the gas. They were expensive but we went with them both for quality and assurance. I'd reccomend both companies, very accommodating and both did a great job.

Yeh the mpg increase will definitely bother me! I think we at least have to have all weather tyres for France so I'll do some research and see if I can find something that's perhaps half way.

3rd comment sorry , fund funky leisure on Instagram have a look at there debus awnings i have on on the t4 and the tight top crafter, there perfect and light and id recommend them , id defo recommend the ma air fan we have 2 and wow there amazing and automatic as well so if you need to leave the pets in the van for a short time the fans will auto keep it at a pre-set temp, and yes yes yes stickers, I need to send you girls an urban sticker pack

Hi lizz, thank you. The first thing we do is make the presence of a dog obvious. So we will leave his big bowl outside or something like that. Next, we have deadlocks on all four doors, it just makes it a bit harder and longerfor people to break in, giving us more warning that they are trying, hopefully enough time to jump in the cab and drive off. They're the main ones, then loads of others for when the van is left alone and I'm paranoid it's going to be stolen lol!
camper vibe Hi thanks for the tips. I may say I’m not a wimp, But it can be a bit scary on your own. My dog is protective. So she is a little like an alarm. If she hears a noice she will be off and shouting I’m sure. I’ll take one of my golf clubs with me as well haha. Thanks though and keep enjoying your van life. One more little question for you. Great video guys, you brighten up our Sunday evening. Have you thought about a DIY awning, suction cups, some adjustable poles and a tarpaulin, check out videos on here. We are just finishing our own van build and think this option will work for us 👍

When you mention Bio tablets do you mean Bio Washing tablets or Bio Toilet tablets? I see a lot using ALDI Bio washing tablets(other supermarkets are available). These are generally Biological not Biodegradable and aren’t great for the water system. I used fully Biodegradable Toilet fluid “one chem” cheap as on eBay and can be used in both tanks
camper vibe they do, not good for Camp site waste points, especially septic tanks. Plus in a washing machine/dishwasher they are diluted a great deal. Biodegradable is good, Biological is not so good
If we are on a site we have the Thetford green one, because of the septic tanks, we used to run a holiday park with a septic tank so we know that issue. The bio friendly tablets we have that we use at home don't state biological or biodegradable but do state they are eco friendly, it's what we have been using in dishwashers and washing machines for years, we chose them because they state they are the most eco friendly, if that not true then that's a real shame as its how they are marketed.
Why not mount the cupboards on hooks, then put plenty of hooks all round the walls. Change of scene whenever you like? 😂 That was a joke but it's got me thinking....

The idea has merit tho, lots of people want Campers that serve as multi purpose, work, sometimes kids, long trip/short trip etc. So if the 'hook' system was up to the weight and vibration then I think it's an excellent idea!
@@campervibe Actually, I just remembered that IKEA sell a rail mounting system for wall cabinets. You fix the rail to the wall and hang the cabinet on it, then secure the base. So yeah it could be an idea for some

Your house would rent easy, are you not letting it out for 12 months? If you end up travelling for longer it might be wise to hold onto the house as investment.

BREXIT will not stop you taking your pets to Europe after December the 23rd even if we leave without and trade deals. We have left the EU it’s just the deals that need sorting out but come September if no deals have been made we will be leaving with no deal . You will more likely get someone paying for you to go to the baths just to see you with your hat off

Brexit won't stop us from travelling with our pets, but depending on which category we fall into we may have to have a blood test and then a 4 month wait before we can go, that's the worry. Why not just build a second high level cupboard on the passenger side? Then you will have extra storage space, Emily would get her cupboard - and Louise won't have to build a whole new van :-)
Regarding the solar panel, I've installed a 200W Photonic Universe panel off Amazon - which is more square than others at 132cm x 99cm. Would that fit either lengthways - or at least not come so close to the sides, even when fitted widthways?
Regarding the MaxxAir fans - are they really worth the extra expense, the extra power drain, and the reduction of light coming through the skylight? I've been in a motorhome in France several times when the temperatures were 30-40 Celsius during the day, with no forced ventilation. When it was hot, I tried not to park in the sun, but under a tree. Then, there is usually no need to spend the day inside the van when the weather is like that. Find some shade outside and relax on a comfy chair, or sunbathe, or go for a swim, or visit a shopping centre or supermarket with air conditioning :-). Also, with a door or window at the front open a bit and either one of the skylights or a rear windows open, a little pleasant draft can be created which is nice and cooling. Then again, if you want to leave a pet locked in the van, maybe a fan running constantly or kicking in automatically might be useful.
Hi seb, we can't just add another one as I wouldn't be able to sit up in bed without feeling very shut in, plus we don't have the weight left to add another cupboard and it's contents lol!
I looked at the 200 watt solar panels but I felt for us we would definitely need at least 300w, and I couldn't find one small enough.
Your right about the breeze tho, it's lovely when weve got the windows and skylights open, and cos the van is well insulated it rarely gets hot.
You are right about sitting up space in the bed - I thought about it too, and I will reduce the height of the cupboard above the bed. We'll see how well that works when I get to it! Good point with the weight limit - I didn't think about it. I'll have to watch out as well not to get too close to 3.5t, as it will leave less choice in what I put in. Good luck with the van mods!

Louise i recently saw an awning idea you might like.
It was a shallow square dome shade that was kept rigid with flexible poles like in a tent structure. I think it then clips easily onto the side of the van.

Hi Clive, thanks. The problem with renting is then it's not available if we need a bolt hole, plus all the other risks that go along with renting, I think we'd rather sell up maybe next year sooner than renting it.

Really interesting that you decided to wait to marry rather than civil partnership, same here with Alex and me. Hi mick, yes we are in Spain now, and the weather is great! We used Barratts tanks for the water and waste tanks, and autogas 2000 for the gas. They were expensive but we went with them both for quality and assurance. I'd reccomend both companies, very accommodating and both did a great job.

3rd comment sorry , fund funky leisure on Instagram have a look at there debus awnings i have on on the t4 and the tight top crafter, there perfect and light and id recommend them , id defo recommend the ma air fan we have 2 and wow there amazing and automatic as well so if you need to leave the pets in the van for a short time the fans will auto keep it at a pre-set temp, and yes yes yes stickers, I need to send you girls an urban sticker pack

Hi lizz, thank you. The first thing we do is make the presence of a dog obvious. So we will leave his big bowl outside or something like that. Next, we have deadlocks on all four doors, it just makes it a bit harder and longerfor people to break in, giving us more warning that they are trying, hopefully enough time to jump in the cab and drive off. They're the main ones, then loads of others for when the van is left alone and I'm paranoid it's going to be stolen lol!

When you mention Bio tablets do you mean Bio Washing tablets or Bio Toilet tablets?
I see a lot using ALDI Bio washing tablets(other supermarkets are available). These are generally Biological not Biodegradable and aren’t great for the water system.
I used fully Biodegradable Toilet fluid “one chem” cheap as on eBay and can be used in both tanks
But they go into our waste system if used in a washing machine or dishwasher?
camper vibe they do, not good for Camp site waste points, especially septic tanks. Plus in a washing machine/dishwasher they are diluted a great deal. Biodegradable is good, Biological is not so good
If we are on a site we have the Thetford green one, because of the septic tanks, we used to run a holiday park with a septic tank so we know that issue. The bio friendly tablets we have that we use at home don't state biological or biodegradable but do state they are eco friendly, it's what we have been using in dishwashers and washing machines for years, we chose them because they state they are the most eco friendly, if that not true then that's a real shame as its how they are marketed.
Why not mount the cupboards on hooks, then put plenty of hooks all round the walls. Change of scene whenever you like? 😂 That was a joke but it's got me thinking....
