The actress playing Calamity Jane was my friend Mary and she KILLED IT with her singing, whereas I wasn’t a confident singer and was happy playing her sidekick and got to say a few lines, be part of the group singing and had fun. You would be likely be 10 or 11 in that year, which is the end of elementary/primary school and beginning of middle school time-frame. Highschool is usually referred to as grade 9 through 12, which for you would have begun around 2008/2009 at about 15/16 years old. This of course assumes you live in North America, as far as the naming of the different school years. If it's that drastically different in other parts of the world, then I am blown away

So, I didn't have much of a choice but I was in Theatre for high-school, there was a point when we were studying musicals, and probably the most embarrassing bit was having to, as a group, pick a song from Highschool musical and lip sing, we were also given individual bonus points if we actually sang it, and if that wasn't embarrassing enough... we had to make choreography for the song as well
