I am deeply touched and thankful lo ol wantok wea mekem this awareness. I was walking in that little girl’s shoe for more than 10 years. I can relate to every single plot in this short story. Much love from Solomon Islands. Keep up the great work. Passim good word.
Tok Pisin learner from Japan here and I like it. I of course know this is in Bislama language which is spoken in Vanuatu and resembles Tok Pisin. It’s really happy to be able to expand my world by learning languages. Btw, this movie is the fastest spoken one among what I’ve even seen through learning. Thanks to all people relating to this!
Anyone out there in Melanesia still doing this? Please families, stop it. Let's be nice to our love ones, the ones we call them wife. Thank you "wan smol bag theater" - this short film is very educational and so touching. Tankio tumas
Every Melanesian can agree that this is a daily occurence in most households, especially the mentality towards bride-price and confusion of biblical interpretations. Great acting to highlight important and critical issues within our societies. Greetings from PNG!
yess because they have no respect for each other but not really not all hourshold are like that but only the ones who pray, go to church and commit their lives to God.
This is so far one of the perfect filmed videos from the Pacific. The characters and the filming was of high quality. I love this! Im from PNG but I can say PNG haven't produced one of this kind of quality films yet. Well done Vanuatu ✊️🇻🇺♥️💯
Everyday occurrence here in Fiji. That's why l love Wan smolbag theater more then hollywood. They seem to get in touch with reality on the ground. Real, everyday issues. Beautiful movie, beautiful acting.
Educative, informative, and same real issues. Woman and Child must to rescue in law.🚺🚼 Best Film. I so say thanks so much for all the creator the film. 👌🙏🙏best acting. GOOD JOB. 👍 Greetings form WEST PAPUA
Thank you very inspirational movie that happening throughout melanesian nations everyday, as I'm single young boy watching this I'm feel sad it's my challenge that I couldn't practice in my future when I'm will be married.
I rolled my eyes all through the movie now my eye hurts. How many "I'm sorry" will it take for a women to leave this kind of violent partner? Great movie. 👍👍 Kudos to her boss. I wish I had a boss like hers. Puting his life in danger to protect his employee.
Thank you for a very educational movie. WSB has grown from strength to strength. Joyanne is beautiful. Good to see Helen and Gloria. Peter Walker is aging gracefully. Great work Peter Walker and Jo Dorras. Top stret.
Very Nice Documentary that every violent men on this planet should watch and have a glimpse on how to respect women. Acknowledge Mr. Michael and Clara for active participation. I have learned many things from this documentary.
I hate Christians who quote Ephesians 5: 22, and literally ignore the entire chapter.... Why yupla sa kamap hypocrite tumasi..? 🙄 Also, if you're Melanesian and watching this, you know all these are common occurrences lo ples. People quote the scriptures or say "custom" and ignore the domestic abuse occuring around them. 😏 I'm so triggered right now.😆 Thumbs up, WSB!!..👍
Im melanesian dad from Manus Island and Mom from Milne bay, i grew up in Sydney Australia and have a Nigerian wife, my ex was Chinese , i have 3 daughters. I have never laid a hand on a girl in my life and im 49 years of age.
I grew up as a child from an abusive home. Believe me, em gatim long term effects on children and this drama brought back those old fearful feelings of watching my mother getting beaten. Well done WSB🇵🇬
Proud of your work WSB, addressing the stereotypes of VAW and also bringing to light the misinterpretations that people unfortunately hold in the Bible.
Nice film. This is a rare situations happening in our own world and it is more important to watch this video so everyone will seeing it and learn from it. thanks our wan solwara S.I to make this film.
What a beautiful woman you are Clara, why you have to continue living with him ,he's a looser, he's not the good man you don't put your hands on woman, God bless this woman and her child
Okay this is educational...Olsem planti yumi ol melenesia sa tok forget and forgive ,na putim lotu go pas,we have to sometime let the law take it course if yumi forgive but nogat senis.....
Our Melanesian culture needs some change that blossoms our unique positive attributes needed in today world, women are equal partners and pillars of our life when you treasure and value them, recognize and relate to them as equals.
Great acting but please Melanesian men,its about time to respect your wives. Its not just about making your wife pregnant, you need to love her and care for her
Don't use the church to allow abuse..How can a man who said, He loves you but continue abusing you? Shocking!! Even God doesn't like abuse over the woman's!!
The same thing is happening in West Papua as well. Most of our society will just see and left the problem to the couple as it is none of their business. When the bride price were to high, the brothers would do nothing to help their abused sisters. This mentality is sick. I've been growing up in a house shared by all my extended family and spent my childhood continuously seeing my small Papa beat my small mom. From that on I promised myself to treat women with respect. I know that not every boy would do the same, some will copy their male adults and some will not. Some daughter will think it's the norm and some will fight.
"Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her..." Eph 5:25 I just wanted to slap that pastor in a spiritual kinda way lol Great film and cast on a disturbing reality...
Am curious how much do Melanesians relate with African cultures, do you see any similarities, Am watching alot of Melanesian content to see if there are any similarities with our African cultures. And there's quite a lot honestly, it's amazing how you can relate so much with a culture across the world. I would Really love to have a chat with someone to share some insight
Not similar at all. The only common denominator between us and Africans is our skin color and hair. Everything else is quite different. Many of my university coursemates were African so I saw the difference in attitude first hand. Melanesians are less liberal when it comes to dating around compared to Africans. But Africans are much less prone to violence than Melanesians when alcohol is involved, I must add.
The fact her own mother knows what happens to her daughter and grandchildren on the daily, and still wants her to go back, is so fucking disgusting. Don’t ever be a mother if you’re going to be that type of woman/parent.
I am deeply touched and thankful lo ol wantok wea mekem this awareness. I was walking in that little girl’s shoe for more than 10 years. I can relate to every single plot in this short story. Much love from Solomon Islands. Keep up the great work. Passim good word.

The sad reality of many homes in Vanuatu today!
Real love binds two different people to live together in peace and harmony in good and times. THAT IS TRUE LOVE.
In Vanuatu it happens
