Correction: Mike Slamer was the lead guitarist of City Boy and he was later in the band Streets with Steve Walsh from Kansas and Billy Greer who has been Kansas bass player since the mid-80's. It was vocalist/second guitarist Steve Broughton who penned songs for Cyndi Lauper, Starship and others. Max Thomas was City Boy's keyboardist, though he played guitar in the band's earliest days and also play 12-string guitar on one track on their debut album. By the way, Max Slamer isn't my real name but taken from Max Thomas and Mike Slamer. So yes, I was and still is a big fan of City Boy. Calling their music glam pop is a bit harsh, Peter. 😜

I love that Alan Parsons' Eve cover. The imperfections of the images are hidden under their veils. Fits the record's theme, perfectly. Speaking of lawsuits: the Cult - Ceremony - with that young Lakota boy. Great cover, but they got sued for using the picture without permission.
Mike Slamer was also involved in Steelhouse Lane, great band!

The guy on the cover of The Cure's Standing on a Beach/Staring at the Sea was a retired Sussex fisherman (the Cure are from Crawley in Sussex, which is not near the sea). According to the BBC: 'Button, who was enjoying post-retirement life in Rye and was also persuaded to star in the band's video for Killing an Arab, said he planned on buying a new cassette player just so he could hear what the group sounded like. "If I can help these youngsters break through, after all, why not?" '.
