Connections need to be separate direct from battery terminals. You can use RE given point for ignition connection but you need to find a male pin for that to connect

I too was confused HJG is value for money product while maddog is having more premium pricing. But I had heard some negative reviews (for HJG quality in long term) from people I interacted before buying hence I had this mind that I will go for maddog. Maddog also provides 18 months warranty which also influenced my decision.
