Buddy, if I'm in my land and you're in yours, I'm passing. I don't need your permission to pass you. And if you don't want to get hit while changing lanes, it's your tail gunners job to keep you safe. It's not my job to keep you from smoking yourself if I'm in my lane and passing you in your lane.

How about this: slower riders yield to fast movers. Makes more sense than having to worry about hurting your feelings...

Just like many of the comments, this flew right over your head. It's not about owning the road, its about respect and actually sharing the road. You probably cut in line at the grocery store.

WTF are YOU or anyone else to tell ME how to ride MY motorcycle and when I can or can't pass you? I'm not in a club for a reason. Your rules don't apply to me. NOT ONE SINGLE sane person would tell another driver how or when to pass. Why do some riders think they can?

We are all supposed to be on the same side. We know the dangers of riding in this day and age. Why do we then have to be against each other. Respect is given when respect is received. It goes both ways, even for the clubs. They should exercise the same efforts and yes there are those that don't.

@@BikerProtocol Funny how "outlaw biker clubs" have more rules than government and think non-members should know them. If I wanted rules and structure I wouldn't have bought a motorcycle or if I had, I wouldn't join a club. I wouldn't ride 10-30 over the speed limit. I wouldn't do most of what I do if I wanted that. I had enough rules, laws and BS from people a long time ago. How about you leave me alone & I'll leave you alone?

This is an easy question to answer...Ride a faster bike and remember that "objects in mirror are irrelevant!"

I've never came across a patched club while riding, I don't do long distance riding, so generally 1-3 motorcycles i typically just pass as I tend to ride faster than most other riders I see, currently I ride cruisers, but I did start on sport bikes, (30 years ago), what I have not heard anyone address is etiquette for passing a club while driving, (as I typically drive faster than traffic), and wanting to pass a club, I will not pass a club of 1% even if I am in a car without getting the go ahead, but how would I communicate that I want to pass w/o being disrespectful? I feel that flashing headlights shows a lack of respect.

So have some respect, its common sense, as you are sharing the road..

  • @Radiofyse

The boat analogy is about safety, not respect. Half of the rules mentioned are just made up rules only known and shared within the cruiser community. As an enduro ride I have never heard of half of these “rules” and I have no intentions on following them. Like stopping next to someone else at a red light. GTFO. That’s common practice all around the globe if you practice lane filtering.
Respect is a two way street. It’s as much giving as receiving and from the sound of it you have very little to give.

I'm going to relay to you a piece of advice that I got from an officer of a 1% club years ago. To paraphrase, everyone like you who thinks that rules don't apply to them or that they have no intention of learning what they are because they think they're a bunch of tough guys usually change their tune when they are picking up their teeth on the side of the highway after disrespecting the wrong people.

    • @TWJCole

@BikerProtocol bro isn't acting like a tough guy nor does being tough have anything to do with it, since when does the world belong to the MCs, it doesn't so it's not us riding in their world. And if a group of guys feel so butthurt to have to assault another rider for simply passing them and not following their made up rules, the problem is them and their fragile egos

@BikerProtocol piece of advice for you; not everybody takes empty threats made with the same ease as I do. There is always someone a bit more crazy and has a shorter fuse then you out there.
Hopefully you never meet him while trying to enforce silly rules.

@@BikerProtocol Nah, that guy was spot on, you clowns and your fragile egos. Stay in your lane, I'll stay in mine, if you're disrespected by me riding and following STATE and FEDERAL laws, you know the rules that actually apply to me, then get off the bike, you are the problem. You do not own the road. Yet every single one of you think you do.
Thanks for the laugh though! Cheers!
