dark souls 3 invasions are fucking shit, there's too many bonfires, you invade and the host just stops playing. they stop playing. I keep watching people with obscuring ring up the stairs in anor londo: the guy stands there rolling and attacking the air, or summons a phantom. Or already has 3 phantoms
I'm just gunna go ahead and say it. Scott, out of my subs you are the most consistent souls uploader in both quality and scheduling. Just wanted u to know we appreciate ya scrub!
Scott's build, and the items within it (predominantly the +2 RoF&P and Prisoner's Chain), seems to have caused a bit of a stir within the comments here. Many seem to think that he acquired these items illegitimately (save editor, CE, friend dropping them, etc.), if I may put my two cents in, I don't think it matters. Creating a full build can be a fairly long process done legitimately, and for most of us this is fine, if a tad tedious. But Scott, as both a streamer and youtuber, is expected to put out near-daily content, and continually theory crafting, creating, deleting, and farming for builds, while still trying to put out a consistent stream of content, seems like a bit of an absurd expectation of him. So yes, he illegitimately got some items and rekt some scrubs with them, but it was entertaining, and in the end harmless.
there is literally no difference between me spawning items in or having one of my viewers drop these items. i've already run the game at SL like 30 on stream so I don't have anything to prove anymore regardless.
it's just that you are among the few souls content creator that still makes regular content regarding pvp, but only dueling gets tiresome to watch from time to time and there is only so many weapons you can actually use in this game. So I welcome these Narrated thought invasions with a smile on my face. just in case you read it, you are fun to watch and a delight to hear, scott, have a nice day/night/whatever.
OH GOD YES SCOTT. You're the best man. Great concept. Im going for invasions myself, since dueling is kinda dull now. Frustrating as it is, it does a good job of keeping the game fresh
+Matt B well it's not literally cheating unless he used cheat engine. it does give him some neat advantages though. i personally only feel the hornet ring to be bullshit. at that low level you usually only have a small number of dedicated gank squads and have other means to win than to just oneshot people.
Honestly Scott, that was beautiful. I had to stand up and applaud you for winning that last fight on against the sunbro and bow host. With all odds against invaders, these people need to know to still fear us. We need to work twice as hard to win, but when we do, they will know at that moment; how dangerous we can be. ✊
Carthus 2h r2 chains into the first r1 a fully charged carthus r2 into the r1 can do over 800 damage holy shit i love this cancer sword and mine is only +7
The Global Elite I only did this while playing around with the carthus and some idiot did a jumping attack into my fully charged r2 and the follow up r1 killed him. It was insane. with the right spacing, the r2 into r1 is pretty damn good, especially when they roll into you then the 2nd r1 is a guaranteed roll catch. that's 3 hits. it only works on idiots though.
+The Global Elite one jumping attack I notice that was actually pretty good is the curved greatsword jumping attack. it comes out quick and has low recovery time
Quickly rotating your control stick rather than flicking it can basically give you the exact same positioning and speed, but without putting you in the pivot animation.
Hey you can see if a host of embers is real or using untrue dark ring by the visual 'ember' effect (the orange glowy things). Only real hosts get that, not phantoms.
Good video, that last fight was really epic. Next time, it would be awesome if you did invasions at SL 120. Try showcasing different weapons for invasions if you can as well. Good stuff.
You know what I've been asking for a while Scott? Another thing that you need to give in to as well? A Havel The Rock cosplay. Like I said Scott, I have an amazing shield, an everlasting Dragon's Tooth which caves skulls in easily, an insane amount of poise, and great armor resistances. Unlike Smough's cosplay, you won't regret it.
I usually get invaded running there from the Crystal Sage before can sit atthe Clensing Chapel Bonfire. One way to be out of estus there about 21:00 . Great narration. I enjoy watching these videos to learn more tactics before the DLC.
People seem to think you cant get those items at low levels? You can get items dropped by friends, summon them in to help with bosses, or just be good at pve.
This was already said and done by other people but if you do silver knight cosplay pvp could you do it in invasion style on the wall place that they are in? It would be cool.
SL60 WL8 Aldritch is the best for low level invasion PvP imo. You get such a great mix of rofl-stomps, fair fights, crazy hi-jinks, all-out invader/ganker wars. I always return to it because nothing else satisfies my PvP boner like it does. And it's right by the duel area, so if you get tired of invading you can just go join a fight club whenever, since there's a pretty strong SL60 PvP presence.
Also a viable level for most players to beat the game at, with a better level of challenge than playing at the higher levels people normally reach when leveling normally.
I actually enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Also you don't have to spam the red eye orb like Dark Souls numero uno, unless it actually makes it faster? I'm not sure about that
How does the weapon upgrade scaling work for invasions? Does it count the highest you've ever upgraded a weapon, or just the highest one in your inventory?
He probably only had 300hp cause he was phantom nerfed meaning they might of been playing Co op with a password and the phantom was over leveled and got nerfed stats which probably brought his low health even lower to the point of less than 400 (around Knight default health) or started as a class with 8ish vigor and never was smart enough to increase a vital stat.
Scott, I think you may be wrong about password-summoned people. Maybe you should try testing it with a couple of friends or something. Becuase from my experience of low level invasions those downscaled people do not seem to be more tanky than "normal" phantoms.
For any who don't know, you can survive the fall from the top of the shortcut ladder if you use the silvercat ring. I don't know if Scott had it or not, but I thought that I should share that.
***** Yeah, I've debated that. In the end I decided it wasn't worth it for the ring that I required to make my build effective during invasions. FAP, cloranthy, wolf, Havel's. Sometimes swapping rings doesn't work out, lol.
+Mike Heiser yeah? But I don't see what hyper armor has to do with this. Wolf ring increases poise. A stat that's disabled in the game code. Atleast until the dlc they tell us. Unless I'm just totally wrong here and missed a patch where they fixed it.
Yhess! Finally! :D While being incredibly frustrating sometimes (most of the time, really) it is more interesting than duels in my opinion. (especially gank spanks ;) )
Lol, that guy with less than 400 health. I don't even leave Firelink before getting at least like 550 health. Also, now I'm curious to see what PVP would be like at SL 800.
IMO if a player twinks and is good enough to get items like the hornet ring at level 36, more power to them. I obviously don't like being invaded by players like that, but I'm OK with it. What annoys me are the players who have their buddies drop late-game items for them, and then use those to invade. That's cheesy as hell. I am not suggesting that is what Scott did here, just offering up my opinion in general.
Ay Scott guerrilla warfare in the cathedral, you and two others battle off against 3 others, or 2v2, once you start you can't go through the shortcuts if opened, you must play through the level, while the other team try's to kill you, healing is allowed. around level 30-40. no voice chat only typing to communicate to one another. though having all the shortcuts open is preferable so the invader team can access areas easily for ambushes etc.. this would make for a cool narrated thought video thing.
I was actually the gold phantom in the first invasion. My friend and I were just casually playing through the game together. We both hate PvP, but good fight. I'm counting it as a moral victory that we managed to hide like that in the beginning.
Their connections must have all been redirected to me for some reason. I never summon in "PvE" yet whenever I go online just briefly (mainly to fight NPC invaders who for some reason stopped spawning for me offline after one of the patch/regulation updates) a PC invader almost always spawns immediately. And I can't win a fight to save my (real) life, and am incapable of fancy shenanigans like this "parrying" thing I see everyone doing so despite my best attempts I die anyway, then go back offline fml
+jonjonmcjonjon i've had the same thing but honestly i get ecstatic whenever i get invaded i love pvp and usually when you're going through the game it gets pretty damn boring stabbing brain dead (literally) a.i. for hours. so when invader lambda gets in i go to an open area get down to it. i never summon because i only get satisfaction from soloing bosses after 10 tries.
depending on what level you are; what I can say is that the lesser level you are, the more likelihood that you will get invade or invade other. I already went above 400 lvl and my invasion/invaded is so rare ( 2 to 3 times per full gameplay)
If you recorded this yesterday ima be salt, I have ds3 on console and just got it on pc the other day. I was in the exact same areas yesterday, at the same level and I didn't get invaded by you dad. :^(
I would like to play against you to see how well I am doing, but i don't think that 1. we ever will face each other 2. it will by fun because I'm in ger so the ping might be super bad.
My favorite part was when the host grew a magic set of balls the instant his phantom showed up.
Gankers in a nutshell
hosts are such pussies in this game
They're always running all the way back to the bonfire to summon their buddy back after you kill them and refuse to do anything else until then.
dark souls 3 invasions are fucking shit, there's too many bonfires, you invade and the host just stops playing. they stop playing. I keep watching people with obscuring ring up the stairs in anor londo: the guy stands there rolling and attacking the air, or summons a phantom. Or already has 3 phantoms
8 year old DS3 videos in 2024 and these are AMAZING. Scott must have the good content gene or something.
It's incredibly informational to see someone so mathmatical and logical at Dark Souls 3 use PvP in a live invasion scenario, this is terrific.
I'm just gunna go ahead and say it. Scott, out of my subs you are the most consistent souls uploader in both quality and scheduling. Just wanted u to know we appreciate ya scrub!
God damn it scott. Still waiting for the bonewheel skeleton build.
And Guts!
+Power-Senpai-Sama-Chan-San-Kun-Tan-Sama, the ecchi sketchy! That name... Is absolute gold, although you did repeat Sama
Raime, the Fume Knight
I am especially because i am also the "Sama" that is used for god in the word "kami-sama" :))))
I'll make one for you babe
Spread the word!
This was actually a very fun video to watch. You should make more videos like this.
Really enjoyed the video. Hope to see more of these.
08:43 a mob decides to kill itself by jumping off the bridge
lol wtf
lmao

there is literally no difference between me spawning items in or having one of my viewers drop these items. i've already run the game at SL like 30 on stream so I don't have anything to prove anymore regardless.
Considering how greatly stacked invasions are against the invader I think it's fair regardless
loving these, I hope you keep these coming
I was waiting soooo long for this! Thank you, can't wait to watch it!
it's just that you are among the few souls content creator that still makes regular content regarding pvp, but only dueling gets tiresome to watch from time to time and there is only so many weapons you can actually use in this game.
So I welcome these Narrated thought invasions with a smile on my face.
just in case you read it, you are fun to watch and a delight to hear, scott, have a nice day/night/whatever.
I really liked this, I hope you continue the invasion series!
OH GOD YES SCOTT. You're the best man. Great concept. Im going for invasions myself, since dueling is kinda dull now.
Frustrating as it is, it does a good job of keeping the game fresh
Fantastic video with a great extended battle to end it all! Keep these comin'!
NICE!! sick catacombs kill. I hope you keep doing these. I'll watch every minute
It's official now, Scott Jund is LITERALLY Obobobobobo now
literally boobo
Just wanted to say thanks for these videos. really entertaining stuff
jeez i love your videos, you are a great player. im learning so much!
stream and vid in the same day way to grind man, great stuff!
"hey, wasn't so bad"
- hornet ring, prisoners chain, max estus
alrighty then Scott :P
Prisoners Chain is a bad thing, and max estus is just standard for invasions at 120.
+Objectively Opinionated he has changed his level so he is level 36 with end game items, literally cheating
+Objectively Opinionated I can't edit, so I'll just say that I meant endgame invasions.
It's not technically cheating. It's possible to get this shit at level 36.
+Matt B well it's not literally cheating unless he used cheat engine. it does give him some neat advantages though.
i personally only feel the hornet ring to be bullshit. at that low level you usually only have a small number of dedicated gank squads and have other means to win than to just oneshot people.
Yay! I was one of those 7 viewers! This is a great honor.
I'd like to thank my parents and my pet goldfishes Cosmo and Wanda!
The title for this video should be "Narrated Thought Invasions: Let's Go Clubbing"
Carthus 2h r2 chains into the first r1
a fully charged carthus r2 into the r1 can do over 800 damage
holy shit i love this cancer sword and mine is only +7

+The Global Elite one jumping attack I notice that was actually pretty good is the curved greatsword jumping attack. it comes out quick and has low recovery time
This was very entertaining, please do more!
I like seeing scott adapt to different situations like that tunnel fight and handling summons
Good stuff.
Really like this. Gives a bit more variety than the standard duels
This was good. Do more of these.
invasions huh? this is new for you. any thoughts on future cosplays? I would love to see lotric (armor of favor and 2 shotels)
*lautrec.
+supasparkle oh right, lautrec
God these comments. How do you do it Scott. ANYWAY thanks for doing this video! I cant wait to see more.
At what point does the prisoners chain stop benefitting? Say at SL50-55 is it still good?
this is actually more fun to watch than your cosplay duels :D
You know what I've been asking for a while Scott? Another thing that you need to give in to as well? A Havel The Rock cosplay. Like I said Scott, I have an amazing shield, an everlasting Dragon's Tooth which caves skulls in easily, an insane amount of poise, and great armor resistances. Unlike Smough's cosplay, you won't regret it.
Can't stop the Rock
Using Havel's is more reasonable that Smough's anyway, so, yeah, he won't regret that much like with that great hammer thingy
Angel di Soufre And it doesn't block half your screen :)
Except you need over 100 vigor, slow as hell, STILL NO POISE, and nobody respects you :(
poise? hahaha this one seems not have played ds2 and ds3
I was just at your live stream when you did this in the farron woods
I usually get invaded running there from the Crystal Sage before can sit atthe Clensing Chapel Bonfire. One way to be out of estus there about 21:00 . Great narration. I enjoy watching these videos to learn more tactics before the DLC.
I don't know why, I just enjoy watching invasions so much more than watching duels.
scott does curved swords beat Gotthard twinsword? Not talking about the curved "greatswords" rather the small ones.
Not a single 4v1? Not even 3v1? Fake.
"I'm at 69.9% equipment load on the dot"
But you still mid-roll at 70% Scott-senpai
I need that bonewheel skeleton cosplay Scott.
I really like these, probably more so than duels.
Very enjoyable :) Keep it up and also ty for doing those
Ive been trying to figure how to free aim with a crossbow and a bow any tips?
"Possibly a twink"
People seem to think you cant get those items at low levels? You can get items dropped by friends, summon them in to help with bosses, or just be good at pve.
There are still plenty of weapons you can use in narrated duels
I like it, keep it up Scott!
if you'd lost that last one I woulda cried god damn
This was already said and done by other people but if you do silver knight cosplay pvp could you do it in invasion style on the wall place that they are in? It would be cool.
SL60 WL8 Aldritch is the best for low level invasion PvP imo. You get such a great mix of rofl-stomps, fair fights, crazy hi-jinks, all-out invader/ganker wars. weapon level 8, what's the lowest fortification that reaches? 5?
6, I think, but that's what most are at by then anyway. Summoning is super quick, in my experience at WL8.
VoidAbaddon
Thanks, I might actually make a character for around that level
No problem.
You made 7 people very happy today
I like these more than thought duals cuz they're a lot more intense
Invasions? Scott, is everything okay at home? Do you wanna talk? :(
(jk, good shit my dude)
More of this please.
I actually enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would.
Also you don't have to spam the red eye orb like Dark Souls numero uno, unless it actually makes it faster? I'm not sure about that
Why is there only one of these? :(
Right?
What weapon level/soul level are you using for invading?
might want to increase the bit rate next episode, this ones looking pretty pixelated
there is like 0% compression I dont know how i could improve that
could it be a bit rate issue?
either that or its youtube
How does the weapon upgrade scaling work for invasions? Does it count the highest you've ever upgraded a weapon, or just the highest one in your inventory?
highest youve ever upgraded a weapon, doesnt matter if its in your inventory or not
nice triumph in the end Scott! That looked annoying af I was rooting for u h a r d
Oh thank God, I just ran out of things to watch, haha!
Ya know...You could do Anri/Horace Swaplay to fill one of those Cosplay duel slots, Scott.
Definitely an enjoyable watch.
Hey, can you speed up looking for the host?
He sounds so happy here
He probably only had 300hp cause he was phantom nerfed meaning they might of been playing Co op with a password and the phantom was over leveled and got nerfed stats which probably brought his low health even lower to the point of less than 400 (around Knight default health) or started as a class with 8ish vigor and never was smart enough to increase a vital stat.
ProtoTron Requirement for lvling VGR depends on your PvE skills though. Maybe he's just experienced enough.
21:19 lol, that was amasing!
Scott, I think you may be wrong about password-summoned people. Maybe you should try testing it with a couple of friends or something. Becuase from my experience of low level invasions those downscaled people do not seem to be more tanky than "normal" phantoms.
Today I found out that Scott needs glasses
CONGRATS ON 8 VIEWERS HTML!
When I see invations like the first one I'm like wow I should invade more its fun and then I invade and im like shit never again
Are you still gonna do some cosplay duels? I'm scratching for some more....
Well, that last battle was intense !
Just another day in a poor invader's life...
Lv 50 w/ +6 weapon is great for invading Catacombs, Smouldering Lake, Demon Ruins and Irythil consistently
For any who don't know, you can survive the fall from the top of the shortcut ladder if you use the silvercat ring. I don't know if Scott had it or not, but I thought that I should share that.
Cat ring or Spook are a must for me in invasions. It's great the amount of space you can cut with these.
***** Yeah, I've debated that. In the end I decided it wasn't worth it for the ring that I required to make my build effective during invasions. FAP, cloranthy, wolf, Havel's. Sometimes swapping rings doesn't work out, lol.
+Mike Heiser wolf ring doesn't do anything. Why are you using it?
DarkSoulMetal You do know what hyperarmour is, right?
+Mike Heiser yeah? But I don't see what hyper armor has to do with this. Wolf ring increases poise. A stat that's disabled in the game code. Atleast until the dlc they tell us. Unless I'm just totally wrong here and missed a patch where they fixed it.
"Possibly a twink" Nah. Just an invader fighting nearly on the same scale as the host lol.
at 29:00 he waited because he had no stamina, it happened a bunch of times.
Yhess! Finally! :D While being incredibly frustrating sometimes (most of the time, really) it is more interesting than duels in my opinion. (especially gank spanks ;) )
Lol, that guy with less than 400 health. I don't even leave Firelink before getting at least like 550 health.
Also, now I'm curious to see what PVP would be like at SL 800.
non existent
there's no incentive whatsoever to go that high, ng+ in ds3 is the same pve experience as regular ng and the higher you go the less players you find
Zoheir Leub Yeah, I know that, I just wondered what PVP would be like if two people DID do a duel at that level.
+Inventor Raccoon Heaviest armor, strongest magics, heaviest shields, most meta weapons.
that was my life as a thief my first play thru run thru the high walls just have lothric knights 2/1 shot me everytime it was hell
Holy Knight Hodrick cosplay?
IMO if a player twinks and is good enough to get items like the hornet ring at level 36, more power to them. I obviously don't like being invaded by players like that, but I'm OK with it. All 7 of your viewers? But I was asking for thoughtcloud 3 :(
Ay Scott guerrilla warfare in the cathedral, you and two others battle off against 3 others, or 2v2, once you start you can't go through the shortcuts if opened, you must play through the level, while the other team try's to kill you, healing is allowed. around level 30-40. no voice chat only typing to communicate to one another. though having all the shortcuts open is preferable so the invader team can access areas easily for ambushes etc.. this would make for a cool narrated thought video thing.
20:45 that cartman impression got me.
PLEASE CLOUDTHOUGHT DUELS I BEG U MORE OROBORO RANT
Invasions > Duels
I was actually the gold phantom in the first invasion. My friend and I were just casually playing through the game together. We both hate PvP, but good fight. I'm counting it as a moral victory that we managed to hide like that in the beginning.
Allow me to rephrase my statement. I hate participating in pvp. I enjoy watching pvp to see the builds that people come up with.
16:00 have happened to me, invaders can hurt me but I can't.
Months after the game's release we finally see some real invasion gameplay! Damn, is anyone invading anymore these days?
Their connections must have all been redirected to me for some reason. I never summon in "PvE" yet whenever I go online just briefly (mainly to fight NPC invaders who for some reason stopped spawning for me offline after one of the patch/regulation updates) a PC invader almost always spawns immediately. Ringfinger Leonhard cosplay please Scott. Great video btw.
i see you had that thicc dancer cosplay
Oroboro wants to do duels while HTML wants to invade? The fuck?
Did hell freeze over?
Cosplay invasions?? Scott please
Tfw my friend and I were attacked by DamnNoHtml...
If you recorded this yesterday ima be salt, I have ds3 on console and just got it on pc the other day. I was in the exact same areas yesterday, at the same level and I didn't get invaded by you dad. :^(
