What did you actually do, taking readings doesn't fix things you normally have to change a faulty component and do some soldering as well. Mine just flashed and popped but I can't get all the screws out to see which component went...
You need a security torx driver for removing the screws they have a dimple in the end as the screws have pip in the centre. There was nothing wrong with the guys charger he had a faulty battery that he fixed with a soldering iron
That’s a good question. I am having the same problem. I have another charger that the wire broke. Coming out from the plastic case. Cut it and re solder. Works fine. I wish I could get to work my other charger.
If your batteries charge properly on another charger but not on your charger. Then your charger is the problem. That can be anything from a fuse to a blown capacitor to another difficult component to fix.
Advanced Nutrition Inc that’s what I thought. It’s hard to pin point the problem Gave up on Dewalt. 3 sets of cordless drills in 5 years. And the issues are. One of the batteries don’t hold charge after 5 months. And the charger eventually takes a crap. Went back to makitta
@@GGarcia7111 I bought dewalt early when they were the cordless leader (at least I thought). I have done well with dewalt but I agree generally Makita is Now a better tool for the most part! And now Milwaukee is about to take over.
Advanced Nutrition Inc totally agree with you. 100% on every aspect. And the reason I went back to makita it’s cause the price. It was on sale. But Milwaukee it’s the thing worth for the money.
Thanks for your video in my case the charger is very similar DC9116 (Input 110 v) and the fuse is fine (ok) it has continuity but when checking with a voltmeter the output is 110 ??? and it should be only 18 V. Why ?? Thanks
Hello Friend I have this charger DCB101 does not work when I opened it, the coil was loose and a broken track sent the photos to see if you can help me.
So the fault was that somebody had previously took the battery apart replaced some of the cells and done a rubbish job of reinstalling the nickel strip, I wonder who that was lol
I have a flexvolt battery that won’t be recognized by charger. Chargers are good they charge other batteries. The charger only blinks once or twice on a slower charger then stops blinking at all. On fast charger it doesn’t even light up. I tried jumping battery it doesn’t help. Battery still holds charge has one bar and powers drill still. Any idea what is wrong?
I looked for this video as my battery wouldn't charge. It would flash for a couple of seconds then the full light would come on. I started fiddling with it during watching this video and it started charging again just as you confirmed your charger was ok! I think the charger wouldn't charge the battery as it totally died when driving large screws and the charger hadn't time to recover before I put it on charge? While fiddling with the charger I plugged it out while the battery was loaded when I saw that happening in your vid and I plugged the charger in again only to find no lights appearing, but when I removed and reloaded the battery started charging! Could have been a poor connection too as I had to wiggle the battery to get lights on in the charger but I did try wiggling it before plugging it out and that only got the lights to flash for a few seconds before the full light stayed on (as above).
I like it. No voice necessary and well done with one hand! It helped me trouble shoot my charger and battery, thanks much!
The sense of achievement is much important than you had been paid for a new battery or charger. That only DIY guy understood.
You are great repair man, this "OK" you say is very funny.

Daumen hoch, dein Video hat mir wirklich den Tipp gegeben, meins zu reparieren.
Vielen dank, Dr. Werner Von Braun!
Let us hear your voice man! Need sound card replace 😜
Thanks a lot
Would this be the same process and parameters to read for the DCB118 fast charger?
How do you fix the same problem with the charger (light only coming on once) if the battery is working and charges on a different charger?
That’s a good question. I am having the same problem.

This worked for me
Muy bueno

there may also be broken batteries inside
that is a 2P5S pack, the problem you found is only half the problem. The other cell pair is ruined so this pack is not going to last long.

👍👍👍👍👍👍
Lose the stupid music and video would be much better!
Baterie powinni być jednego typu.
Music to loud and you can't explain??? Leave music off and just show. Weak
Its self explanatory. Everyone else understands just fine 😅
Shouldn’t have to do all that for a charger to work. Stupid if you ask me
Say it Greta Thunberg
Good job
