Ray stevenson performance was phenomenal that even his facial, body posture shows emotion and acting that shows he is experience and every gesture has a meaning to it that adds more detail to him

What an awesome video. My only gripe with Ahsoka is that we didn’t get nearly enough of Baylan and Shin, their backstories and their plans and how they came together. I hope Lucasfilm and Filoni sees their potential and really enhances it to the fullest
Man, Ray Stevenson was huge in this role, how little he had and make such a great impact, I really wanted more of Baylan because of him, he will be missed.

Same here. In this case, it doesn't seem like it would be disrespectful to Ray. He portrayed a phenomenal character. But his story isn't done yet and it would seem more bothersome to have him disappear entirely without a good conclusion.
@@Lightshade393 yes, he started this mysterious path with a layered character who became very loved because of his performance but he wanted to tell the story of baylan skoll and it would be a shame not to unravel it further (with a very similar actor and acting style)

Although a bit rushed towards the end, I think they had a pretty good arc of going their separate ways that contrasted with Ahsoka & Sabine. Obviously the whole Mortis thing was left very open-ended though.

This duo is one of the best in the saga. Two bad we’ll never see them again. Rip ray stevenson, you will be missed by the fan base
For all the trappings of Jedi 'Knight's in Star War, Baylin, and his apprentice were the first live-action 'knights' from their dress and their fighting styles and their composure. Even Dooku was more 'lordly' than knightly. Baylan was like Lawful Evil personified, even more than the 'wildcard' Ani. RIP To Ray Stevenson, he nailed this role for all time.
He will be either the new Son or the new Father Mortis…clearly he received a call and he seeks to answer it. His connection with the force transcends simple light and dark…he embraces its knowledge and its deeper connection to existence. I loved his concept and I will so miss the man who portrayed him.
Would have quite happily watched an entire series dedicated to Baylan and Shin - interesting that the two characters from Ahsoka who were not in Rebels actually turned out to be the most compelling.

In less than three minutes you accomplished what the show failed to do in my opinion: You made Shin and Baylan's story significant and showed just how many similarities between them could be found.

Dude, how crazy would it have been if the sequels were never released. I'm not even like blindly hating them for no reason, I mean literally maybe just released at a later point in time. The shows, all this build up for the rise of a more powerful order, imagine these shows except we actually don't know what's coming. The first order would have felt like this grand reveal of massive proportions, not some lazy writing and copy of the empire

Baylan said he wanted to know the beginning of the galaxys conflict, in order to end it, and considering the Mortis confirmations it means hes going to ask Abeloth and/or Anakin to send him back in time, through the world between worlds, to the first jedi, where he'll be in Mangold's first jedi film

Though the editing appears technically flawless to me and the concept is *imaginative* by taking voice lines from the original script and re-arranging them in a wider context as characterizing aphorisms, the video would strike more conclusive if it were focused solely on Baylon Skoll - instead of trying to illustrate 'a drift' in his relationship with the apprentice -Zannah- Shin Hati.
From 1:50 onward, it likely doesn't resonate, anymore because the first - and possibly only - season of the show doesn't display on screen the history of Hati's character - whether Baylon e.g. sincerely educates (e.g. like a daughter) or manipulates her (reflected e.g. in her surprise in face of Baylon's apparent indifference to Wren's fate - there's also something in her body language - like her freezing up when taken by surprise in a fight - that reminds of abuse).
So far, there's no lore material to go by other than Filoni's repeating reference to Norse mythology in the character names (Skoll and Hati) and the end credits (planet names in Norse runes and wolves chasing stars), thus obscuring the history between the master and apprentice.
If this fragmented 'fizzling out' is edited toward a *conclusion* - possibly more concise and profound than a consumerist show's script - the video editing will be technically on the same level as Ridley Scott's vignette *'Meet David'* (2012)...

Suggestion: Stop ending it on a good note/good ending. It's boring and too good two shoes.
Thanks for the feedback. For me it's important that my videos always say something.
For example: when I was editing the Empire, I was never going to end it with the Empire conquering the galaxy, instead I wanted the last part to show how fascism corrupts itself and those who believe in it, and that you can rise up against it.
I also disagree that I end on a happy note too often; this video does not end on a happy note. And, in general, I end on whatever note serves best the message I want the video to give. With Star Wars its most central themes (in my opinion) are hope and redemption, so naturally many videos are going to revolve around them.
Easily the most interesting parts of this dismal show.

The introduction of Baylan & Shin was by far the absolute best part of the Ahsoka series whether you loved it or thought it was meh. Star Wars fans will be talking about Baylan forever, as well as the legendary portrayal of the character by Ray Stevenson.
I'm beyond sad that Baylan's character ark won't be completed by Ray.. May he rest in peace and may the force be with him❤

FIRST! how do you keep making these so quick. Lol. Also Baylan was such a great character!!
There is something about old British Sith Lords played by superb actors that makes them infinitely enjoyable to watch. There is something else entirely about well-written old British Sith Lords played by superb actors (though I don't think we've had one that wasn't well written, from Sidious, through Dooku and Kreia, all the way to Baylan now), that somehow makes them carry otherwise painfully mediocre and/or visibly incomplete storylines. Scenes with Palpatine and Dooku were some of the best in the Prequel Trilogy ("I miss... the idea of it; but not the truth"); Kreia filled in the holes in KotOR 2's cut-up story brilliantly making it, to this day, peak Star Wars when Jedi and Sith are involved; and now Baylan somehow makes me wish to watch Ahsoka in its entirety despite the lack of closure and mid-tier pandering writing I'd glimpsed from the show thus far.
This feels like a movie trailer, or something amazing soon to come. Your hard work is noted, brilliantly done.

My thoughts exactly. Do Ray justice and finish the storyline he started out portraying even if he can't take it all the way to the finish line. In this rare instance, I feel a recast is the best way forward rather than simply quietly killing him off.
Best characters of the show, Baylan is head and shoulders above the rest. Rip Ray.

I hope they don't end up killing Shin later on. I feel she has decent potential.
Due to Ray Stevenson's unfortunate passing, I have a feeling Baylan's fall will come sooner than later. His character's PTSD over the loss of the Order certainly hits deeply. What the Order once stood for, the ideals the Jedi were once more in line with before they got more dogmatic of course, which Baylan also recognized.
Either way, we'll see what it is Baylan has planned, or how Shin will go about her future plans since Thrawn's forces had to leave without her.
