It's unreal how little balance I have compared to my teenage self. I landed a few kickflips in my first hour, a nollie FS shuvit, and a 50-50. I also stuck the first-ever attempt at a boardslide, on a flat bar about 1 foot high. However, despite those results, I don't feel comfortable at all. Sometimes I lose balance while riding in a straight line. It's fuggin shocking, man. I'm 7 hours and 15 minutes into my return to skating (been timing my sessions), and the longest session I've been able to pull so far is about 45 minutes. I'm so out of shape that I lose like 10 pounds worth of sweat within the first 15 minutes. lol Another thing that was lost is the ability to fall cleanly. Every wipeout is a day-ender now. I've had several minor slams which took me out for a week or more. Anyway, don't let me discourage you. You should at least try!
@@ThisHandleFeatureIsStupid Hell, I noticed the balance problem at 19 last time I actually skated lol. I'd had a few drinks so that probably didn't help but it took me at least 10+ tries and even then, he had to stand right by me so I didn't fall and bust my head open haha. As for recovering from a fall, that's gonna definitely be the biggest problem. I fucked myself up a few times as a teen, now I get injuries just from a small fall! Not at the level of if I was like 90 but enough to where I'll be limping for a few days to a week after with a nice bruise to go with it... I was never that great to begin with, wakeboarding was more my thing. I'd take more chances doing that cuz hitting water can hurt but nothing like concrete does! Even at my peak, most I could do was a pop shove it, got a kickflip a few times but couldn't do it regularly, could ollie high enough to kinda do a few grabs like an indie and stuff then could do a fs boardslide and a noseslide/tailslide (not sure if those are even the right names, I can't remember trick names anymore). Maybe got a 50-50 once or twice. Might be forgetting one or 2 things but that's about it besides just basics like dropping in and a manual.

man, I love seeing how well steve-o is doing these days !! absolutely beautiful. this man will never know how many laughs he brought me over the years 🥲❣️
Imagine taking a Tony Hawk autographed skateboard and just wiping out on it repeatedly 😂 that in itself is legendary
Bam and steveo skating together makes my heart warm.
So stoked with how this came Steve-O. Age doesn't mean shit you're still crushing it and Tony is still a freak, GOAT.
I'm 37 and I skated for 14 years. Never got very good but always had a deep love for it. Still do just as much today. Haven't skated in several years. This video really inspired me to go grab my deck and hit the streets again. Thanks, O-Steve.
0:24 "I got pretty good!".. Huge understatement, Steve-O got damn good at skateboarding! He could do some hella tricks that most of us could only aspire to achieve.
When I see Bam happy and smiling for the first time in a long time and hanging with Steve o, I want to punch the like button very hard but that would result with a cracked screen, that’s how awesome this video is
Makes me very happy to see you & Bam skating together, sober, happy & laughing
Steve-O is always promoting something. Come on duuuddeee!
a double wall ride with tony hawk is honestly legendary af very cool
I love that he's still killing it and bettering himself!
Older bam and steveo with their chicks making sure they don't die on their skateboards is hilarious. Man we're getting old...😃 😆 👨👨🦳😥
The story telling in this video is straight fire
