@BruceMallett Thanks, Bruce! I am very happy with the gear and skydome. Getting ready to do the annual mirror cleaning and cable management. Thanks for watching my video and for your comment. Diana ❤️
@bofblog Thanks! Lots of interesting galaxies there. I was so excited to see them all that got all crazy 🤪. Thanks for watching my video and for your comment. Diana ❤️
Thanks! I am thrilled with it. I got tired of carrying gear, and the load-out was painful. Since I got Skydome, I have been able to photograph better as I am relaxed, knowing that the possibility of technical problems is minimal. I started a few years ago with the same Celestron you have. Are you happy with the images from the Seestar? Thanks for watching my video and for your comment. Diana
Wow !! You make it look so easy ... (as is always the case with people who really know what they're doing), but just a wonderful demonstration of how beautiful galaxies can be. They are so vast, and so very far away, but so beautiful to look at. I wonder if our own galaxy is as beautiful as the ones we can see? The small wide angle camera in your pod made your telescope look huge! Took me a while to realise it wasn't actually ginormous. But yeah, your enthusiasm is infectious. Thank you for sharing your love of astronomy. 🌟☄
Hi Richard! I am glad it looks easy. That is the goal of my channel, to teach complicated things in a simple way. I ask myself the same question regarding our galaxy and these other galaxies. I was impressed with this galaxy, from the test photo to the final image. I also think a lot about the lightyears; isn't that crazy? I still can't visualize the fact that what we capture now, happened thousands or millions of years ago... what? The Universe is spectacular, and I am so happy to be able to capture it from my backyard. Thanks for watching my videos and for your support. Diana
Wow!! loved that final image :-) Every time I see one of your videos I am so amazed at your skills and would love to know half what you know. You skills to teach and the easy way you reach out to all of us is amazing, Diana. You are indeed "Our" Favorite Astro Nerd, my friend... Thanks for sharing my friend :-)
Paulie! Thanks for your beautiful words. I saw your email, I am at a rock concert. Will respond tomorrow. It's always nice to see you . Thanks for your support. Diana ❤
Hi Bortle10! Really? Where is your location? I am so happy with the final results and was lucky to capture them in one night. M106 posed for me! Thanks for watching my video and for your comment. Diana
Very interesting. I have a C( and I am thinking in selling it to buy the same Quattro 10´´, but is the collimation difficult to do with a f4 ? And why don´t you use plate solving to find the object and have it right in the middle (after doing a plar alignment) ?
@MrYvano Hi Ivano. This was my first big telescope, and it has been very consistent. As I mentioned, it stays in focus, collimation is relatively easy. I have one of those collimation lights/ kit, and it works well with it. I am about to do the first mirrors cleaning in 3 yrs. I am going to record the process and post it. I haven't done much maintenance to the telescope because it works well, but it is stationary. Regarding plate solving, yes you are correct. Sometimes I do it and sometimes don't, especially for the videos. I change my mind a lot looking for targets because we have a lot of trees here, so I search around a lot. Skywatcher has some new Newtonian telescopes. Mine has like 4 yrs. Thanks for watching my video and for your comment! Diana ❤️
@@pompeymonkey3271 I will use it next time 🤗 I playe solve before setting the sequencer but will use it more often. Thanks for watching my video and for your comment. Diana ❤️
@davidswan4083 Hi David! Is this galaxy in a bad location for you? I was very lucky to find it on a clear night and on the right part of the sky for my Skydome. I loved all the galaxies around, too. Will do more imaging for sure. Thanks for your comment. Diana ❤️
Hi Diana. It's quite well placed for me (Circumpolar from my location) but I had some shadows on my images that I thought were due to poor calibration, but were eventually traced to reflective anodising in the adaptors. Cured now but I have 2 years worth of nearly unusable data. I found controlling the inner regions while pulling out detail and colour in the outermost spiral arm difficult, even with PI. I look at it occasionally and try to improve my processing. The weather on the West Dorset coast doesn't help in getting data!.@@yourfavoriteastronerd
@davidswan4083 ahhhh got it! I also have several targets that are giving me some problems. I can't get them right. Thank God we have plenty of targets up there to photograph. For thus imaging session, I got in two filters, only a dark thick line that I have no idea what it is. I am going to release the video of it next week. I tried everything that I knew and still shows. Little things that drive us nuts! I am pleased talking to you! Diana
@johnathonhandley6477 yes, I have done it before. I am hoping next weekend to fix cables again and clean the mirrors. I do it every summer. Stay tuned! Thanks 😊 for watching my video. Diana ❤️
@johnathonhandley6477 ahhhhh ahhhhhhhh!!!! Now I need a pill, LOL. Hopefully, one day I can go to a location like that. I live in the Smoky Mountains but it is Bortle 6, too many Billboards around. Yes, I am jealous!!! Diana ❤️
Astro Nerds! Stay tuned for my upcoming video next week. Editing Messier 106 using new scripts. Simple editing techniques for beginners. Diana ❤️

@nathanwildthorn6919 Yes, it is! I am still impressed with what I captured. Beautiful galaxy! Thanks Nathan!
That is a beautiful image, beautiful Galaxy. Great information! Great job, Diana!!
Nice image...NGC6946 The Firework Galaxy is also a worthy imaging target

Beautiful image of a galaxy that's been a bit of a "bogey" target for me.
