  • Mud daubers are long and slender wasps of about 1 inch length. Now she's busy in making nest for laying her eggs. Nests are made from mud. The female mud dauber brings in mud and chew this mud into a paste like pulp mixed with their saliva. This pulp is used to make the walls of the nest. After getting the desired shape, the wasp goes to collect more mud. This process continues for a long time untill the nest is complete and spacious enough for laying eggs. The female mud dauber hunts out spiders, paralyzing them and returning to the nest where she lays eggs on them and seals the entrance. Inside, the egg will hatch and the wasp babies will eat the dead spiders until they can chew their way out of the muddy nest as adults. | my lens stories
