Seeing you travel the highways and byways of upstate New York brings back so many happy childhood memories for me, including your trek across the Bear Mountain Bridge and stop at a cafe in Cooperstown which reminded me of when my parents took me to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and nearby Howe Caverns when I was 12 years old. My father always used to say New York is one of the prettiest states. Being from just south of the border in New Jersey, I often tended to overlook it since it's right in my backyard, so to speak. But as I get older, I appreciate it more and more and agree with you about fall being the best time to visit. Early fall (September and October) tends to have the fewest rainy days as well, though obviously this varies from year to year. I'm sorry it rained during your trip but glad you enjoyed the wonderful sights in spite of the weather!
Very glad Dari that you are enjoying yourself in New York, this fantastic city! Autumn colours are so beautiful. Great video and thank you very much for sharing. Greetings from Italy 🪻💕🍀
Lovely video showing all the colours of the trees. I've visited Toronto one October and the colours are amazing too. Glad you're having a good time in New York!
Hi Dasha. For some reason this video reminds me of your Bosnia-Herzegovina vlog. Maybe both places are surrounded by mountains and are filled with colorful leaves. There’s nothing like late autumn in New England. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing places, amazing autumn and fantastically composed video. You are a real talent when it comes to making movies. As a matter of fact, from the very beginning It was impressed, I started watching, and your wonderful personality came along with it. Thanks, thanks!
The photography in this video is beautiful, very atmospheric. Upstate NY also has a lot of interesting art museums. Two that come to mind are DIA Center (Beacon, NY) and Storm King Art Center.
@@DariStep how did you like Canada? Quebec has a European flavor to it with French being the main language but in Montreal English language is very present
Thank you Dari. But you haven't even touched the tip of what NY offers. I spent my childhood exploring the sites here. If a chance is given check out our two known caves here in the upstate region.
I’m more concerned of the luggage wheels as they wear down so much. I used so many luggage brands and none can handle what I put them through. Dirt, asphalt, even road conditions, just nothing works. Seriously try it yourself. You’ll see how bad those plastic wheels are pretty quickly. I’ve had to replace wheels six times in less than a year. It’s just cheap plastic. And yeah I put my luggage through hell because I can’t control what I roll on. The parking lots are problematic and the walk up to the hotel you know. You can’t control the surface.
Thanks for the great video. I've lived in Syracuse for 16 years, and Upstate New York is absolutely gorgeous. I've been to Cooperstown once, but I didn't know about the pedal rail experience there. I will have to try it out!
Looks fanyastic. Haven't had an Apple Cider donut in ages as they usually make a donut type pastery called an Apple Fritter in Ohio, not a Cider donut. Trees in the Appalachian Mountains are always multi- colored in the Fall and fantastic. My wife & I usually go over to my brother's place in the fall so that we can can go leaf viewing with him & his wife. We usually go around Warren, PA ( which is in the mountains) just south of the NY state line or to The Bluffs ( which is in the foot hills but not the mountains and they over look Lake Erie) which is between Erie, PA and the Ohio state line. NY state has a lot of smaller fantastic water falls. The one you saw is one of many. I have only been to some on the western half of the state. Thanks for my first viewing of Up-State New York. I have pretty much visited what Ohians call the North Coast of America.
Upstate New York always seems to be overlooked because people assume all things New York are like New York City, when most of the state is rural and very scenic.
This tip is for you & your friends……take it from an old lady who travelled. Be Prepared when travelling & hiking in autumn .Do not wear running shoes, buy a pair of good quality waterproof hiking boots. Your back pack should always include #1) a spare pair of comfortable fleecy socks in case your feet get wet hiking in the rain and need to remove damp socks . #2) a long sleeve undershirt which will keep you warm (you can go to a bathroom to put it on underneath your main shirt. #3) a warm waterproof hooded jacket which retains heat if weather becomes cold & rainy #4) a pair of waterproof outerwear water repellent pants which you can slip on over the top of your jeans to keep them dry & lastly, #5) a waterproof hat & a good pair of gloves. These items are all available at sporting stores that sell hiking clothes. A bit of planning ahead can make a hike a more enjoyable experience & save you from changing weather over which you have NO control. Happy hiking , p.s. don’t forget to bring a bottle of water.
Autumn will soon be over and Winter is coming soon. However, I love this weather, I love sunny days and I like the rain. This is such an amazing city. Thank you so much Dary, I hope you have a successful career and I hope you have a great day. By the way, I like your outfit, You look really good. 🇺🇸🗽🍁❄️
Loved this video Dari! You visited two places that I have been to. Kingston and Cooperstown! Both very nice place's to visit...especially in the fall! I agree with you..the beautiful color's of the leaves and scenery soooo beautiful to see! So sorry the weather didn't cooperate! Nevertheless...I see you all made the best of it. Dari I need to ask you... do you do those beautiful drone shots? Wow! Whoever operates the drone does an amazing job! Thank you for another well done fun to watch video! Loved watching!❤❤❤😊
@DariStep You do the drone shot's! Wow! Great job! My brother operates a drone for law enforcement. He said you do an amazing job!👍 Looking forward to your next video! Have a great week Dari!❤️❤️❤️❤️❣️☺️
Next time, try apple cider donuts with apple cider to drink. It helps balance the dense donut and you can dip the donut in it to make it easier to chew. Great video!
Try a takeout sushi place called Raku. I hear it’s fairly priced, near Central Park, and is highly rated. Also soy sauce is made different between cultures. Japanese soy sauce tends to be thicker for flavoring. Chinese soy sauce tends to be thinner for more general use and is saltier.
Love this one! If you should head north again, stop in at Beacon NY….a real neat small town with lots of bistros and art galleries. Also, Katerskill Falls is a very famous overlook that was prominently painted by famous american artists in the mid to late 1800’s, most associated with what has become the Hudson River school of art. The “school” as it were was founded by Thomas Cole with many followers such as Asher Durand and George Inness….
Hi D - was thinking, on your job search, be sure to target finance (investment) firms executives (influential enough to have authority to hire); go with your strengths (eg, Eastern Eur); send a handwritten note with a nice card; quickly mention your background / education / interest; and ask to meet for a 15 minute coffee to discuss him/her. And ask about them. (Who doesn’t like talking about themselves? They’ll naturally come away feeling good about you). Remember too - even logically, no one is better than you ! Udachi !
There’s actually a hidden hotel in the Catskills called Grossingers. It was the Jewish retreat from the city for many years. Unfortunately it was abandoned. It’s currently in a state of decay. Its pools were completely drained and just it’s falling apart. If you’re feeling brave try exploring it. Some urban explorers already have and yeah it’s actually worse than expected. There’s also the abandoned castle right on the Hudson, the old asylum, the island prison of Typhoid Mary, the cemetery of the paupers, and so much in New York you don’t know about.
You should do a video on the Strand. The bookstore in manhattan. Honestly they have so many books. They also have books in foreign languages including Russian which you’ll never see anywhere else. The strand doesn’t abide by any book bans and will stock books from anywhere. I’ve seen some very rare books in Chinese that were banned in their home country yet they are at the strand. They don’t have the oldest books like old thesis books or books owned by famous people but it’s a good selection nonetheless. In LA the last bookstore in downtown fills the same role though it’s become an art gallery for book art. The owners actually opened a cafe and garden space somewhere in LA using the same concept and it’s working. They are lovely places to go and a place to see something different. Talk to actionkid as he knows the strand and the last bookstore pretty well. Also he’s been stuck in Astoria for a while due to a nasty foot injury. If you see him try to talk to him, he’s the Asian guy with the knee scooter usually around Steinway and 31st or the bridge subway station. He’s also limiting himself to the High line as he is able to traverse it easier.
I know you love being a world traveler, but I hope someday you decide to stay in the USA, and you get to bring all of your family and friends here too 😊
Different people have different preferences. It's why people should make their own decisions while others may simply seek to *assist* and *amplify* if desired after the motion has already been started.
I consider that slavery and Jim-Crow laws were evil but they are gone. They retarded quite a bit of the U.S.A. for at least a century. Without slavery, the U.S.A. South had a tough time in economic development.

Unfortunately no :)
