Ok now I'm crying. I miss the early seasons (1-4) Sam and Dean. Like, does anyone give a rat's ass about the Yellow-Eyed Demon Azael anymore? No one even mentions the Roadhouse anymore either! Or what about finding John or when it was actually HARD to kill demons? And Sam never says anything about Jess or Stanford! And back then John was the rumored hunter, now it's Sam and Dean; America's greatest monster hunters and demon/angel killing specialists. They used to be some no-body hunters who the FBI were more concerned with then anyone else! And Dean and Sam were so concerned about Dean going to Hell after making a demon deal, and now it's like they don't even care anymore as if going to Hell isn't a big deal! Call me old fashioned, but these boys have been worn though. I don't want the show to end either, but think of how far they've come from what they were and what they are now. It just makes me cry thinking of what they were and what they are now/what they've become. It's sad.
I agree that the show has changed significantly since the storyline of the first 5 seasons. I do think sometimes the past is remembered; Ellen was in an alternate reality in Season 6, and they brought up Sam's time at Stanford in Season 12. The Roadhouse (and characters like Ash) seem to be forgotten, but Ash was replaced by Frank was replaced by Charlie. But while dealing with (and killing) angels, demons, and everything else is now fairly standard and routine, some other things have changed. They have more connections to other hunters than they used to. And their relationship with each other is better than it used to be. In the early seasons, Dean was always afraid that Sam was going to run off again, but ever since Purgatory, it's been clear that Sam isn't going anywhere - Dean gets to live and work with his brother like he wanted to. And Sam has been trying to get Dean to trust him enough to make his own choices and be a grown up forever, but he picked Ruby and demon blood as the 'trust me, I've got this, let's just do it my way' choice, and, well, that didn't work out so great. So he was still in doubt during the Trials, and it was only really with the British Men of Letters storyline that it became clear Dean was willing to follow Sam's lead and trust his judgement. I don't regret progress like that. So, no, it's not what it was, and I might like if they could adjust the stakes and make Death both mean something and not be an 'avoid at any cost, who cares about the consequences?' situation. But they still struggle to save people, and they are still interesting characters.

This is absolutely gorgeous! I haven't been exposed to that many videos outside of AMV.org, but the ones I have seen have been lackluster. This gives me hope that not everyone makes repetitive yogurt commercial videos and people like you have a great sense of editing and timing. :) Mad props; you saved my opinion on vidders!
