- In life there are certain commodities we consume that we hold to particular expectations; items like a good steak from Saltgrass OR the barbarity of Mike Tyson in a boxing match OR even from our favorite long-standing metal bands,....& in the last 25 years NO band has been more CONSISTENT, not only with the brutality of their music, but their unwaivering integrity for wickedness, production & heavy performances than New Orlean's own, GOATWHORE. The band was recently in San Antonio still supporting their 8th official release, 2022's, 'Angels Hung from the Arches of Heaven' (released via Metal Blade Records). So despite finding the band mid-cycle, I STILL wanted to take an opportunity to catch up with guitarist, Sammy Duet, & talk about 'Angels' - a record, which I feel will undoubteldly go down as one of their best. In the interview below you will see us discuss the following: the band's recent 25th anniversary, GW's musical evolution, the recording for Angels, the band's long relationship with Metal Blade, their current 'Venomous Evocation' tour, NEW music, the 30 year anniversary of Acid Bath's, 'When the Kite String Pops' & MUCH MORE! Great Interview. I saw Goatwhore a bunch of times between 2006 2007 and 2009. Amazing killer band live. Hung out and drank with them at a local dive bar in my area after the show. Great dudes.
