- A scene from the movie Rhapsody in which a part from Sarasate's Gypsy Airs is being played by Paul Bronte (Vittorio Gassman)for his girl Louise Durant (Elizabeth Taylor, 27/02/1932 - 23/03/2011 , R.I.P).
I just watched this for the first time. Beautiful clothes, incredible classical music, a dramatic love story - that has a happy ending twist at the end. Loved it.
She didn't even realize how beautiful she was.

great movie, yesterday saw on tcm.
It was such a good movie, I used to love TCM Hollywood classic movies.But In Denmark we can not watch the normal TCM anymore. Now they only show unknown Japanese movies and B series.... I miss the normal TCM

Does anyone know what this film is about? Can anyone tell me why Liz's character seems so moved by the violinist's gesture at first and then so disappointed by the end of the scene?
I know this answer is 8 years late, but i guess late better than never. In the movie liz plays a spoiled girl who is used to have whatever she wants and in that case its this guy playing and another musician. The whole movie is basically her figuring out who she likes more. Hope my answer was useful, have a nice day.

liz character is the one of a spoiled rich girl who never make correct choices so the pianist her other boy friend is left behind also.
