God being reminded of the optical illusion wolves sent me so hard. Legit so many great memories of this stupid show. I wish there was other examples of bad dming that you could talk about as well but im not sure what there could be.
One of my favorite moments in the show was the flashbacks. Like the simplistic name calling while first deceiving us into thinking he would repeat the same thing 3 times in a row, and when the dialog changed, it caught me off guard. Schmoopy: Don't you remember what Zeros just told us? Flashback Zeros: Flashbacks are awesome, and Mike's a f--! Pure. Gold.
40:43 another good series for showing how dnd could be played, focusing on how deep the storytelling can go is Fool's Gold by dingo doodles. It mentions mechanics here and there, and it seemed the actual mechanics became part of the storytelling at points. Which is a good thing to keep in mind, in alot of cases the game mechanics are there to help you tell a better story. but, yeah, gods, after watching this i hope not that many people's first experience with dnd was unforgotten realms. parody or not it dosnt make it sound remarkably fun, or consistent.
His swords of light attack is actually copying off a yu gi oh card called “swords of revealing light” that looks similar and does the exact same thing of not letting attacks happen for three turns. Look the card up.
I do know about "Swords of Revealing Light", and after Mike uses it, Rob says, "Woah, nice trap card, Yugi". (even though it's a spell card) I played Yu-Gi-Oh a lot in my teen years.
@@JimmyGeniusEllis Well, now that's not true, there's lots of stuff I don't know. For example, I don't know how to play Final Fantasy Tactics, I don't know why Malcom D Lee is allowed to keep making movies, I don't know anything about Yu-Gi-Oh following Yu-Gi-Oh GX, I don't know how to make an exercise schedule and stick to it, I don't know why people keep driving the wrong way on one-way lanes, I don't know why people keep pretending that nudity and curse words are bad, I don't know why people on the internet feel that text-based responses are malevolent in intent (which is how I feel right now), I don't know how to brighten myself up in my videos more without brightening up my backdrop, I don't know how to beat Midir in Dark Souls III, I don't know how computers work, I do NOT know how to survive on a desert island by myself, etc. I could go on. :)
This is the DISLIKE pin. Every reply to this comment counts as a dislike.
That's a very effective way to boast engagement, eh?
"it's cheep, cowardly, and borderline rule breaking, but I like it"
Let's be honest, this line represents a solid part of DnD
Ah! I love Unforgotten Realms! It's so great lol.

Of course you’re aware. I should have assumed no ignorance. You clearly know everything lol.
