Here’s a quick rundown of the tuning and chords. Because of the alternate tuning, it’s essentially all open chords. The album and acoustic demo on the Adore reissue are in standard tuning, except the 5th string is tuned up from A to B. This rare demo is tuned down 1/2 a step to D# and the 5th string is still tuned up one step to A#. You’ll have to figure out strumming and picking on your own. Thanks for posting! Though, I'm still in search of the version Billy played during his 2008 tour. Plenty of videos available on that but haven't had the time to figure out tuning and chords as audio and video quality aren't that great.
@@matthiasscheffler548 Awesome! i love this version! - it would be killer if he did a studio version of this without all the crowd noise - that's why I love the one I posted, because the studio quality sound is so good, but I like the more upbeat feel of the one you linked too :))
Billy says “okay guys, we’re gonna go goth for the next album… but like not grungy goth, we’re gonna wear weird, fancy black suits and stuff like we’re from the sad Matrix, even though that movie hasn’t come out yet, with maybe some weird Victorian/Colonial attire thrown in. y’all should definitely stock-up on black eyeliner, though, and possibly some pink. sound good?” James: okay, cool. I’ll go work on my pouty face. D’Arcy: can I wear cat ears sometimes? Billy: *sigh…. I guess, if you have to.
@@chrish8904 - they’re still pretty similar, like _Gish_ and _Siamese Dream…_ not quite the same, but in the same spirit, one flowing organically into the other.
This is from their radio interview on July 9, 1998 for Chicago radio station WKQX FM. Their “Modern Rock Live” radio program.
Thanks - how did you find this? - Too bad they didn't play any more songs.
Thanks for the info.
thx for info, i wasnt gonna say that sounds too involving to be a demo version sounded like a full performence so that makes sense

What did the version sound like? solo or full band?

This is my favorite acoustic version.

Is it possible this is from a live radio performance? Something about the warble of the guitar screams "late 90s radio-rip MP3" to me.
Possibly - it is a studio recording for sure though, its too clean for a bootleg
That's inherent of compression of any kind, and mp3, while a small file, isn't the best container for audio.
Yes, it’s from 07/09/1998
The big 3… forever
Yeah! :)
Stupid vanity, they couldn't even stay friends.

Hey - Don't knock the cat ears - they were vital to the Adore "sound"! :))
The black suits that looked Matrix-esque was during the Machina era after this. But youre right about the victorian stuff
@@chrish8904 - those are the same era to me 🤙
@@Sam_T2000 they sound and look different though lol
