- Re-Flex were a British New Wave/synthpop band active from 1981 to 1985. They are most often recognized for their hit, "The Politics of Dancing", the title track from their debut album, as well as the singles "Hurt", "Hitline", "Couldn't Stand A Day", "Praying to the Beat", and "Sensitive".
This band is one of the best 80's Progressive New Wave Dance Rock Bands of the 80's and this is great radio friendly song sucks it was not a hit this band kicks ass!
The Politics of Dancing album... I just fucking love it. I think I overplay it, haha.
So do I.This came out when I was finishing up high school
I fucking love this band. They fit the eighties like a glove!
How the hell did I miss this band?
You must have heard The Politics Of Dancing at some time?
Well, this is music and you can choose it
It's just a matter of taste, you say
But don't abuse it or institute it
This could be another craze of the day
A twelve-bar blues it or disco music
It doesn't matter 'cause it's all the same
A symphony-a, just lend an ear
A simple tune sure sticks in the brain
Hey, hey boys
Well, put me on the hit line tonight
Hey, hey boys
Well, don't you think it's my turn? That's right
Hey, hey boys
Well, put me on the hit line tonight
Hey, hey boys
Well, don't you think it's my turn? That's right
A twenty-four track, whoo, no mono flashback
Just got to get you down on tape
Computer remix, you got me transfixed
I sometimes feel that I've been audibly raped
The dancing people, ooh, they go beep-beeple
You got me moving so I can't sit down
The what? Watusi, well, maybe could be
The hottest thing to ever hit, hit, hit this town
Hey, hey boys
Well, put me on the hit line tonight
Hey, hey boys
Well, don't you think it's my turn? That's right
Hey, hey boys
Well, put me on the hit line tonight
Hey, hey boys
Well, don't you think it's my turn? That's right, hey, hey
Keep it simple, it's down to the beat
Another cliché just makes the song complete
Win or lose, it's, it's on production line
Carbon copies singing the same old rhymes
Hey boys
Well, put me on the hit line tonight
Hey, hey boys
Well, don't you think it's my turn? That's right
Hey, hey boys
Well, put me on the hit line tonight
Hey, hey boys
Well, don't you think it's my turn? That's right
Hey, hey boys (Hey boys)
Well, put me on the hit line tonight
Hey, hey boys (Hey boys)
Well, don't you think it's my, my, my, my turn? That's right
Hey, hey boys (Hey boys)
Well, put me on the hit line tonight
Hey, hey boys (Hey boys)
Well, don't you think it's
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my turn? That's right
Hey, hey boys (Hey boys)
Well, put me on the hit line tonight
Hey, hey boys (Hey boys)
Well, don't you think it's my turn? That's right
Hey, hey boys (Hey boys)
Well, put me on the hit line tonight
Hey, hey boys (Hey boys)
Well, don't you think it's my, my, my, my turn? That's right
Hey, hey boys

Extra !
This band should have conquered the charts more Great voice but very bowie -esque which was to thefe disavantage
Mark King do Level 42 foi desta banda.
Yes, both he and Phil Gould were. Mark played drums for them!
An interesting angular '80s pop band. Their style is certainly aimed at mass market appeal, yet, still has an "edge" - possibly a Devo influence coming to the fore. Shame they didn't get the attention they evidently deserved back in the day. Maybe they'll catch the ears of a future retro, hypnagogic, scene sooner rather than later.
Not a fan of eccentricity? I think it's an essential ingredient of 80s bands.
@@ajs41, I forgot to add, I thoroughly enjoyed it. This music is way off piste for me. It inhabited the commercial noise scape of '80s New Wave influenced pop, far from what I was listening to back then. Only with the passage of time does its quirkiness and charm stand out for me.
Nothing to say about Roly nickname for the drummer. Rude comments dude your not a fan get lost!
@@retromaster2000s, the drummer was the only cool one. Motoric, no nonsense. Laying it down like a pro.
@@Dunbar0740 I don't agree think your rude I like the whole band.
Creepy
Why?
