The Philippine Flag is guarded by the constitution that when somebody is caught disrespecting it like letting it touch the ground could face serious penalty or charges.
If the flag just touched the ground even a little, that's punishment for you. I was scared of handling the flag during morning rites since I do not want to be expelled.
Oof, dude I feel you. I'm an officer in CAT and whenever it's my group's turn to raise/bring down and fold the flag, we keep that shit cautious or we'll get in trouble
I did but it was accidental. Way back when I was in Elementary and we we're the ones that assigned to raise the flag every monday. The flag was zip so tight into the ropes that supports the flag, little did I know I fucking flip it. While the whole student was singing the national anthem the teachers and the high school students we're shock as fucked.
I have to comment on this. Bonifacio Global City is NOT the head quarters of The Philippine Army but its on the Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City. The colors symbolized the following Blue - Peace, truth & justice Red - Patriotism and Valor White equilateral triangle - liberty, equality and patriotism. Eight rayed Yelow sun - symbolized the 8 provinces of the philippines who revolted (Himagsikan) againts the Spanish colinization 3 Stars - symbolized the Major Island regions of the Philippines which is Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao
It's sad to think of how our current president wanted our country to be a part of China thinking it would be a way to improve our economy, the essence of all these symbolisms would be nothing if our current president falls for that trap...
And its very crucial to not raise the flag upside down, every school here raises a flag every morning and sing our national anthem, students are usually the one raising it so they need to be very careful
The7thTaciturnWriter keep hatin? Did you see hating chopsticks? You see there's a cultural difference between south asian and us and no im not using chopsticks. You're missing the point here.
The7thTaciturnWriter you see it's stereotypical just because we're asian and Pacific islander is not wrong too, true that a portion of Filipinos use chopsticks to eat in a Chinese restaurant or Japanese restaurant because you said you were respecting their traditional way of eating but in everyday life we don't use chopsticks. It's just stereotype from our neighboring countries.
I remember when I was in a elementary school, I accidentally drew the Philippine flag upside down so I just flipped it since it's a white, thin paper I remember my teacher was laughing while correcting me lol then I flip it, my brain was like "Oh wait I think I'm deadass, this sign is for war" realized just a second after I finished doing coloring the flag.

If you take history into account more you have elements of the Spanish and Japanese. The Philippines was a Japanese colony at various points and was liberated by Sun Yat Sen of China working with the Japanese, the Black Dragon Society and the Triads. The Sun here looks like the Japanese imperial Sun which has either 8 or 5 petal variations with streaks around the rest. Three stars? Triads from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. Coincidence? Red and Blue. Red is very important to China and Japan whereas the Blue can be seen as the influence of the West with their democratic structures. Red can be blood, red can be war, red can be good luck, red can be associated with the Spanish.... But the link to Japan and Sun Yat Sen is too firm.
