I never tire of watching Ricky. I think I love him. 😳 Don't worry, Jane! I'm old, not nearly as gorgeous as you, & been with the same wonderful man for 37 yrs. 🥂💕 Cheers.
Speaking of human life-span: when we study average life span in antiquity the average seems so low mostly due to infant mortality rate. Families would have a dozen children hoping 6 would survive infancy to work the farm. Then maybe 3 survive working to reproduce. Our ancestors that made it past the stage of dependency (at whatever that age was at the time) would often live to 60 years. Basically, sanitation and germ theory made more babies survive, so that appeared to raise the average life span as more of us survived to the age of reproduction.
It’s always refreshing to listen to people like Ricky and the late, great George Carlin because they both share my general worldview. I like/love individual people, but humanity, not so much.
I used to think he was sarcastic & pretty full of himself. He once made a pedo joke that really pissed me off. Decided I didn't like him. I don't think I've ever heard Ricky speak about his joke/comedy construction, and Seth just got IN there with some "Let's see where this goes" questions. Great interview!
Ricky stole a joke off Karl! I still love Rick but give Karl his credit. On the old radio show (like 15 years ago) they talked about replacing bodies, Karl said he wouldn't mind "using it" because it wouldn't be his hands either, which made Ricky and Steve die laughing.
@@belrapture But also I think part of it is that Ricky has been convinced that Karl's commentary also makes sense. I don't see it as stolen as much as two friends who have aligned views and Ricky now represents a view that Karl also shares.
ua-cam.com/video/zmhD_01iuTY/v-deo.html&ab_channel=RyanDavies I found a clip! I feel old. The original joke is probably 20 years old now actually. But they used stuff from the XM show on the animated Ricky Gervais show for HBO, which is probably closer to 15 years ago. I love how at the end it is such a natural thought process for Karl and then Ricky dies and calls him a genius =)
it's not theft, you could tell esp early mid S2 of the XFM show that Ricky was just fascinated with Karl and how his mind works so differently from his own, he might call him all sorts of names and get fed up with his ill conceived and poorly executed radio games but at the core Karl is honestly brilliant in his own way and all I see is Ricky noticing that. I mean "stole"? If you really think that orange headed moron is going to get on stage to talk about his dad nicking stuff from charity boxes and a housefly running laps around his knob while sitting in the bath you are somewhat divorced from reality.

We aren't destroying the planet - we are having an impact but we can destroy ourselves - not the planet. Life will adapt - the question is do we take good enough care of the environment to be sure we are one of the species that survives?
Or we could focus our efforts on educating our children in perseverance, compassion, and the scientific method so they could work towards a future where we are better stewards and participants in this fragile happenstance we call home.
Gotta say, gained a lot of respect for him back during this interview, especially the last third where he makes the point of distinction between the act and the views. Not that he would care that some internet guy thinks different now haha. I seriously disliked his last performance of the globes, loved his previous ones. Was way too over the top for me and I thought well he's just edgy for the sake of edgyness now. But I never doubted he's a great creative mind, with the huuuge amount of other stuff he's been doing in his carreer. Behind all this is a kind and loving man and after this interview, I can kinda acknowledge this more than before. That's press work done right.
I get what you’re saying but the jokes were still clever at the Globes. The sad part is damage was done because SOOO many conspiracy theorists latched onto the jokes as if they were evidence of Hollywood’s big elite adrenochrome pedophilia ring. Just like Dave Chappelle’s last show was supposed to show that he and ONE trans comedian approved of all his transphobic jokes. In the end, it had the opposite effect and started a huge blowback against trans people. I have no skin in either game, I just think when people listen to you, you have to be careful. With great power comes great responsibility.

I feel exactly like him, but it is very difficult to express yourself in front of others because most of the times they put you in the black list and they don't want to talk to you any more. That has been my experience in several occasions. So, it is very refreshing to know that there are people that think like you and you are not a weirdo. Thank you Ricky.
They weren’t worth taking to in the first place if they can’t deal with the truth. I hope you find more likeminded people that you can freely express your thoughts with. ✌️
If he were honest, he would say he is very superstitious for his blind faith in alchemy on steroids being real: slime transforming into Frankenslime. Give me a plausible falsification scenario to prove that abiogenesis is even in the science club of explanations. Also, amino acids aren't evidence, 'cause they're totally non-living. IMAGINING that they become life, is wishful thinking. May as well fart and call that proof life could come from non-life.
The one. The only. The absolute legend himself.
These guys seemed like they had a great time in this interview!
It's amazing how different an appearance can be, even when the substance is mostly prepared, just based on how the personalities react.
Ricky is his own biggest fan lol he constantly cracks himself up 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree. That's why I love disaster films so much. I watch them at night and it helps me sleep.
Same for me with murder films. Sleep like a 🐻
Ricky goes the jugular. Thats what makes him great.
“It wouldn’t be my hand either.” Just casually borrow KP’s joke there, I see you. 😆 Bring back The Ricky Gervais Show! Lol.
I’m glad someone else caught that. I wish he’d credited Karl.
@@PathosConsultingGroup me too. He kinda gave Karl a hard time then.. now he pretends like it’s his content. Give Karl Credit!!
He's constantly ripping Karl off in interviews
Yeah I heard that too. He's stolen a lot of Karl's jokes (without credit).
Really love Ricky. What a guy!
Even though the clip and much of interview were basically a rerun from Colbert the other day, Ricky is worth watching over and over again and again.
Do you mostly watch white male right wing comedians?
@@owenmersk4626 Only after listening to black male left wing comedians like Clarence Thomas…
I never tire of watching Ricky. I think I love him. 😳
Don't worry, Jane! I'm old, not nearly as gorgeous as you, & been with the same wonderful man for 37 yrs. 🥂💕 Cheers.
The best part is that there was no Colbert!
LOVE Ricky Gervais he's brilliantly funny!
Always says it how it really is!!
Thank God for Ricky Gervais, yes, I know.
"It wouldn't be my hand either.." that's a Karl Pilkington observation from the Ricky Gervais Show. The whole head transplant bit is from that episode
Karl is a real treat.
He's been using Karl's lines from XFM for many years
Written by Ricky, obviously. ; )
Ricky takes a lot of Karl’s material and Karl is ok with it. It’s still funny af
@@bfravel That´s because Karl´s material is mostly written by Ricky ; )
Speaking of human life-span: when we study average life span in antiquity the average seems so low mostly due to infant mortality rate. Families would have a dozen children hoping 6 would survive infancy to work the farm. Then maybe 3 survive working to reproduce. Our ancestors that made it past the stage of dependency (at whatever that age was at the time) would often live to 60 years.
Basically, sanitation and germ theory made more babies survive, so that appeared to raise the average life span as more of us survived to the age of reproduction.
Yes. Vaccinations have allowed many more children to survive
It’s always refreshing to listen to people like Ricky and the late, great George Carlin because they both share my general worldview. I like/love individual people, but humanity, not so much.
Also Russell Brandt
Never a dull moment with Ricky.
“…the duck-billed platypus-eggs AND milk-it could make its own custard” 🤣
Love Ricky Gervais! A very talented and intelligent man.
Look at us all - scribbling on another bathroom wall 🚽
I relate to Ricky...i love animals and hate people too!
Agree. The more I get to know people the more I love my dog . I think more and more people nowadays will agree with that. 👏
Yep. Most people suck.
Absolutely on the same page with this man !! Only difference is everyone knows him and absolutely no one knows me ! And that’s the way I like it .
Starting to realize the greatest comedians are really intelligent people. Especially on social/emotional intelligence.
Way up there 🤗
LOVE lOVE Ricky and his smart ass humour!!!
We've had a good run. I'm all for giving the cephalopods a shot.
He has a sardonic British sense of humour, quite dry and sarcastic ,
but he has proved his worth with his series 'After Life'..
I used to think he was sarcastic & pretty full of himself. He once made a pedo joke that really pissed me off. Decided I didn't like him.
But then I remembered how great he was in the movie Ghost Town, so decided to watch Derek & then AfterLife. They were so much more than I'd anticipated. And I got it. I got him & his humor. He's really lovely inside. Now I can't get enough of his work. 🥂💕
he proved it with the office and extras.
Humor, and especially sarcasm is a sign of intelligence. Unfortunately as a teen my stepfather said I was too sarcastic and smacked it out of me 😑
More comedians for politicians. They are real, no bs, less ego.
Ricky is top 3 stand up comedian of alllllll time !!!!!
George Carlin and Russell Brand completes the trio
I don't think I've ever heard Ricky speak about his joke/comedy construction, and Seth just got IN there with some "Let's see where this goes" questions. Great interview!
“Wouldn’t be my hand either” ripping of Karl now are we Ricky? 😁
"Off."
...hahahaha great point
@@jazzman1904 jackal!
I'm looking forward to the new special, but Afterlife..... Oh my... What a masterpiece.
I just love him. I have the same opinions and love to hear them voiced.
I just want to shake this mans hand and say, Thank you for all the laughs!
U may get to someday - but will it really be his hand ... ???
I adore that man.
Ricky stole a joke off Karl! I still love Rick but give Karl his credit. On the old radio show (like 15 years ago) they talked about replacing bodies, Karl said he wouldn't mind "using it" because it wouldn't be his hands either, which made Ricky and Steve die laughing.
He’s stolen quite a bit from Karl Pilkington. I think he thinks he gets a pass because Karl isn’t a professional comedian
@@belrapture But also I think part of it is that Ricky has been convinced that Karl's commentary also makes sense.
I don't see it as stolen as much as two friends who have aligned views and Ricky now represents a view that Karl also shares.

I found a clip! I feel old. The original joke is probably 20 years old now actually. But they used stuff from the XM show on the animated Ricky Gervais show for HBO, which is probably closer to 15 years ago.
I love how at the end it is such a natural thought process for Karl and then Ricky dies and calls him a genius =)
It's not theft, this is two really good friends. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Ricky is just paying homage to hilarious friend.
it's not theft, you could tell esp early mid S2 of the XFM show that Ricky was just fascinated with Karl and how his mind works so differently from his own, he might call him all sorts of names and get fed up with his ill conceived and poorly executed radio games but at the core Karl is honestly brilliant in his own way and all I see is Ricky noticing that.
I mean "stole"? If you really think that orange headed moron is going to get on stage to talk about his dad nicking stuff from charity boxes and a housefly running laps around his knob while sitting in the bath you are somewhat divorced from reality.
Pretty close to a perfect interview ..the great comedic timing they both have is beautiful when they are together .. even the jackals have only praise🤣🤣🤣love this !
Come on people, individually I love, love these two.
I’m a totally in love with you Ricky Gervais!!! I discovered my artistic talent when my prep art teacher exhibited a drawing I did of a duck-billed platypus. We’re definitely attuned. 😆
Man, I just LOVE Gervais so damn much!! Every Single Thing he says is so spot-on!!
Because he British American comedians are washed
Ricky is our best comedian right now, and probably our best entertainer. Not just the funniest, but the most important in that he insists on speaking truth as he sees it.
can't believe he's 60!
now I feel _really_ old!😅
He's gonna get killed by God soon, and be judged. Ingrates burn forever. I love raining on liars' parades.
I love Ricky’s laugh it’s contagious
I love it when RICKY SAID. “I don’t care!! It’s ur fault not mine.
I love Ricky too much for words. This was such a laugh-you two have such comedic symmetry, thanks, Seth x
There awesome bunch 👍
Ricky Gervais is a very rare person indeed. Thank you Ricky, I can’t wait either for the end of the world. Love you man
I tell my friends and family this. "I don't always say what's right. I say what's funny."
Love that. My daughter & I do that daily. We're constantly splitting our sides laughing. Life's too short not to have a good belly laugh everyday. I want to go out laughing. 😂
That is my exact same thing...the smart alek crack is ALWAYS MY GO TO...60...raised on cartoons and rock and roll and pop culture and evrn speaking movie quotes sometimes ...sad
Best interview of Ricky I've seen, good host.
I love that Ricky laughs at his own jokes.
I'm with Ricky, I'd be sad to know humans got off Earth and got to go destroy another planet and life. Just let it all end here on Earth. 👍
We aren't destroying the planet - we are having an impact but we can destroy ourselves - not the planet. Life will adapt - the question is do we take good enough care of the environment to be sure we are one of the species that survives?
@@pdoylemi thank you.

We are not nature's favorite lol
Humans will destroy ourselves but other life on earth will continue ...

Or we could focus our efforts on educating our children in perseverance, compassion, and the scientific method so they could work towards a future where we are better stewards and participants in this fragile happenstance we call home.
Somebody’s an ecofascist;P
I love ❤️ Ricky Gervais !! His quick Witt,..his shape tongue 👅,..he’s just brilliant!!
"The Invention of Lying" is a masterpiece 😂
One of the greatest comedians of our time, lightning fast wit and so often tries to improve humanity by dealing with our faults. Also is just fucking funny! 😄
