The Google Pixel has (arguably) the best camera on a smartphone and it has the cleanest version of Android. You also get Android updates faster than any other phone since Google "owns," android. Android really isn't a poor thing anymore. Just an alternative.
Agreed! Google pixel's Night Sight! I used to be an Apple user but I was always waiting for a camera to have this feature and Google Pixel delivered. Nighttime photos are AMAZING 🤩👌👌👌👌
Android never was a poor thing, but because the operating system is an open source, basically anyone... literally anyone could build they own version of Android and cheapest possible phone, or most expensive, whatever they want. That freedom is usually a good thing... but sometimes some greedy companies try to compete with shitty phones that are build with shitty (quality) components and using shitty services, because there is always people who don't understand tech enough/or are mislead to think that they get a good quality device/service. While Apple is controlling everything, every component, every process, every requirements, pricing, etc and while you are sometimes restricted to do whatever you want, they can build a ecosystem that works smoothly with their own services and/or devices, which is a great thing, but usually they do not allow too much other brands to share this experience, unless it is under their control... so you need to purchase lots of Apple stuff, if you want to get full experience.
I use google home, best thing ever. You can actually ask Google Home to play on specific devices as long they are installed in your Home Hub. Also you can create routines, so for example saying 'good morning' Google could connect to compatibles coffee maker, turn on the lights and read you the news from your favourite website. I also like the functionality 'Let's go home' that let anyone at home knowing that I'm on my way back and tells me if there any traffic jams on my way home. If you're device doesn't connect to Wifi (e.g. speakers) you can convert them to smart devices by purchasing google chromecast or chromecast audio, so you can add it to your Hub, and give them commands through Hub.
If you want a stronger Wifi signal, you should hard wire the mesh system. That’s why there’s Ethernet plugs on the mesh hubs. Since you have a new house, they should already have pre ran cat 5 plugs throughout the house. All you have to do is buy a outlet holder for the mesh hub (no screws required). The holder will hold the mesh hub against the wall and the Charger. Then just plug the Ethernet line to the port (assuming you have it which you should). Use Speedtest.net to run tests throughout the house so I can see if you have any dead spots throughout the house. Hope that helps with your smart home journey. Just bought a house recently and decked it all these new smart devices.
Also- it won’t cost you 15 racks to run smart lighting. Spent about 1k on the house. Just get smart switches and just spend a weekend switching out the light switches. I went with Leviton switches. Hope that helps.
Buy smart bulbs and tell Alexa which ones you want on and when. She makes routines. I always make sure I have my garage light and entryway to living room on a few minutes before I get home from work everyday and then they go out when I go to bed. Love it.
My friend just got the Google pixel 3 and the video+photo quality is hands-down the best I've ever seen on a phone. If Google pixel phones had a SD slot I would have switched over years ago without a second thought.
Google Home is a really nice gadget when you know all the feature.. I personally like the bigger home but the mini one does the job. When you buy other stuffs related to the Google Home you can do sooooo much. I control all the lights is my house, the tv to switch channel, play music, and also I decided to program a few lights so they would automatically turn on/off at specific time. 😊👍
Bart you should considered buying either LifX or Phillip Hue light bulbs, you can control it on your phone, through google home. With the LifX you just need to have internet connection and connect the google home app with lifx app. For the Philip Hue, you're going to need a Philip Hub which is a connector from the lights to thw switch then to your eeros. I personally have LifX and it works really well when you have great wifi connection. Within the app, or through google home, you can change to many different color for like a mood lighting or party scenario.
Look into powerline products. They use your existing electrical lines to extend your internet connections. You can have access all over the house at almost the same speed as if you're sitting right next to the router.
I love you guys so much I watch all your channels keep doing what your doing and more have a good day I love that your child is learning multiple languages
I love my Google home and Google hub. We use it to control our Philip hue lights, play music, check the weather...etc. We're renting now but when we get a permanent home, probably will connect to a Nest and Ring.
master jackoff You’ve been replying to many of the comments on this video negatively for absolutely no reason. Are you okay? Do you need someone to talk to?
You guys should just buy individual smart bulbs like lifx or Phillips hue. And sometimes they come in bundles so you could save money. And then you could set up from there
For the google home mini u can buy a chrome cast and say hey google show me the front door. And it can turn on and off ur lights if u buy smart switches. It can play music and stuff on your TVs and speakers. And do bunch of other stuff.
Just get smart light bulbs be careful on which ones you get some need a hub some don't. They can range from around $20 to $50 per light bulb and you can hook it up straight to your Google home mini. and you can hook up your TV or your surround sound to Google home mini so we can play through those speakers.
If you get Phillips hue lights (they have regular white ones I forgot what they’re called) then you can link the lights with the google home. Same with connecting to your speakers I’m pretty sure you connect them via Bluetooth or wifi
You guys could also get smart bulbs and be able to control it with Google Mini too. Not sure if you can set it to light up whenever you walk into a room but its another option to make your home more into SmartHome/more techy 😁
Don't know if you read old video comments but you should get the Phillips Hue lights. Idk if you already know about them, but they're dope. You control it from your phone and you can set lights to timers so they automatically turn on and off based on your schedules. They work with the Google home! I have both. I have the color lights so you can change them to whatever you want. It's late and I'm tired so sorry for the ramble but I hope it helps lol Also I have the Google pixel 2, ayyyy. Also also, Chromecast is dope too. Connects to your TV and works with Google mini too.
Do a deep dive into the tech channels like MKBHD, Uravgconsumer, Johnathan Morrison, Danny Winget, etc. They all do videos about smart home techs. I think you could do the smart home for much lower than 15 g. Get some philip hue or lifx light bulbs for the places you use the most. Get a chromecast which i believe you can play the door cam onto the tv as well as other entertainment things. The mini can connect to your audio setup through aux cable or bluetooth.
I would run Unifi system instead. You can run ethernet cables to your ceiling from your attic access and wire up Unifi APs fed from a PoE switch in your utility room.
Do you know if you have an amp? Or booster? That comes from the company that runs your internet. I work for a BIG company and one of our big problems when internet or all systems are offline first thing to check is the amp or booster. Which you will find in an Attic or closet or outside somewhere in the home. It's hard to find and most famous don't know about that. Amp or booster is to increase connection to all your systems. So what you bought will still depends on that amp or booster. Just in case you go offline and not know. Just a little FYI.
Bigger one(Google home) sounds better but nothing else is different; also pixel 3 phone is able to take a dope photo even in night without any light, like you can't see anything but the phone let's you see everything ahead
The house is legit goals. The size is ideal af. If this is a forever home or at least until college/uni years, Taika's Hide and Seek location is lit. The space is making me die~~!♡♡ I realized at 16:44 that geo looks like a cute tiny bean.
Rembember that every bit of Tech you install in your home makes you also more open for cyber attacks. Cameras, routers, microphones etc. can all be used against you, especially since your videos document very well what kind of tech is inside your house.
Just an FYI Bart there is smart home light bulbs and outlets that you can get from like Lowe’s or even amazon and you can control it all with an app. 😊

My favorite thing on the dark web is watching peoples houses get hacked and the lights going crazy because you're allowed to mess with them lol
you can set up the google mini to turn off your lights
