If you want to use stats to put FSU in what would Florida State stats look like if they played the entire year without Jordan Travis. Likely losses to Miami and Clemson, I think there would be more. That is the FSU team the CFP had to evaluate.
That had exactly ZERO bearing on it. The microsecond that Alabama beat Georgia, the decision was made. There can be NO invitational tournament, and that’s all it is, without an SEC team in it. Not going to happen. Period. Without Georgia in, that left Alabama. And that creates another problem. You can’t let Alabama in and not Texas. FSU was never going to go. The injury to Jordan Travis was a gift from the gods to the NCAA. It legitimized what they were going to do anyway.
Actually no, that would assume that both of thwir difficult games (which they still won with their defense and with better offense than Michigan put up in their games those same two weeks) would have been the way they looked all year. But it's not. Because in both of those games FSU had quarterbacks that were starting off the bench qith no reps or practice and by the time of the CFP, their 2nd string QB would have been back and also a month of practices. Likewise, if either of them had to play the year, those QB's would have actually gotten reps and played in the system and would have been able to get in rhythm like any quarterback with their receivers. It's a non argument.
@@Gators1216 Say what? FSU was up 34-10 against a 6-6 P5 school and went to sleep. Not like Alabama did against a 6-6 P5 school that they were BEHIND until there were mere seconds in the game and needed a miracle to win. You really ought to watch some games to have some understanding.
They need to get some linemen on both sides of the ball. The lines are a disaster. Damien George should not be starting for the Gators. He's awful.
