The problem with our parties now days is everyone wants to turn a discussion into an argument. At the end they want to walk away feeling like they won. During our Presidential debates we were more concerned with who won, rather than who's idea's were better. If we can get back to good discussions where both parties walk away learning from the other we will be better off. That doesn't mean you have to agree, but you should at least understand the other sides point/feeling. Why is that so hard?

As a Brit this is the first time ive come here to get educated about the diffences between the Republicans and Democrats..and i have to say after watching this im quite a bit more aligned with the right-wing Republican way of thinking.
First- I am not a Republican - I am an Independent voter: There are a few inaccuracies in this explanation. One is about the Democratic government programs for the poor and the Republicans side with the rich and the big businesses. Not true. Democrat programs have destroyed the large cities of the country and are actually caused more poverty, violence and despair. Their programs are not designed to get people out of poverty but to stay in poverty. Democrats have caused more poverty than any party in the US. Democrats feel that they need to tax the hell out of companies to fuel these programs. They do not believe in survival of the fittest as it is explained here, their core believe is opportunity needs to be equal for everyone not guaranteeing outcome because that involves taking from one person to give to another. Republicans believe that lower taxes for Businesses fuel, expansion, better pay scales, benefits and allows them to compete overseas and higher more Americans. If you help business prosper, it goes into the pockets of the employees in wages, benefits, hiring and just a better overall workforce. It also so fuels local manufacturing expansion and withdrawal from manufacturing overseas. You saw this with Trump getting rid of the double taxation for companies bringing $$$ back into the US. When he lifted this tax companies brought manufacturing back into the country. Other points that you should know if your not an American - The Democratic Party is responsible for the following : THE CIVIL WAR AND SLAVERY - The Republican Party was created as a Party to GET RID OF SLAVERY - Jim Crow Laws - passed by the Democrats - The KKK - created by the Democrats and ran by the Dixiecrats - what they called themselves in the south. Pretty good video, although I would tweak a bit of the information regarding Republicans, or those leaning to the "right" or even quasi-Libertarians. Republicans aren't against a simple background check for weapons, although they do fear an ever-encroaching control of firearms that could lead to confiscation (as it has in other countries) The same sex marriage argument is also not entirely accurate. While many on the right have Biblical principles in their ideology, there are plenty who just don't see the government having either a role in marriage, or redefining the cultural and/or historical role of marriage. But all in good, pretty good take on each side. Now if we could just all try and get along :)

In today’s American politics you can be moderate and far. Moderates are people who are in one party but not completely so far in the party. For instance moderate republicans may not oppose gay marriage but far right republicans would. For the democrats a moderate would not agree with healthcare for all but a far left democrat may like health care for all. Also the government does not decide who wins and loses in the market. It’s up to the business owner to control that. Yes people should know what a republican and Democrat is in the rest of the world because people should know what the American people stand for. In case the government tries to forcibly control the people and do they harm. Abortion: unborn babies have rights of their own - Anti-abortion is meant to protect the unborn (hopefully at the same time, making people think about moral choices, like bringing children into the world without both parents (as the stats show is never good for the child, nor society). Many, many more points that this video was not clear to the uneducated.

The problem with our parties now days is everyone wants to turn a discussion into an argument. At the end they want to walk away feeling like they won. During our Presidential debates we were more concerned with who won, rather than who's idea's were better. If we can get back to good discussions where both parties walk away learning from the other we will be better off. That doesn't mean you have to agree, but you should at least understand the other sides point/feeling. Why is that so hard?
It's really true and now it's down to violence and instilling fear. Look how we have people shutting down highways to instill fear on people and then we have cars ramming protesters and using violence because they don't agree with the view points. One is about the Democratic government programs for the poor and the Republicans side with the rich and the big businesses. Not true. Pretty good video, although I would tweak a bit of the information regarding Republicans, or those leaning to the "right" or even quasi-Libertarians. Republicans aren't against a simple background check for weapons, although they do fear an ever-encroaching control of firearms that could lead to confiscation (as it has in other countries) The same sex marriage argument is also not entirely accurate. While many on the right have Biblical principles in their ideology, there are plenty who just don't see the government having either a role in marriage, or redefining the cultural and/or historical role of marriage. But all in good, pretty good take on each side. Now if we could just all try and get along :)
