What do you think? In Power Rangers "The Mutiny" could the Power Rangers have done more to fight Pirantishead? I don't think calling the Zords right away was the way to go. Especially after he started freezing them. Maybe Lord Zedd would have still destroyed them in the end, but I think the rangers could have done more to fight his monster. (We're talking about in universe here, of course the show is here to sell toys, and it was time to sell new Zords. That's the reality explanation. But, things can also be written differently and still have the same outcome, but make more sense).

Zordon had one main rule: Never escalate a battle. The first time they do, their Zords get frozen and taken over. You're right. Jason should have handled the situation better. LOL.

Honestly its kinda fun going back and rewriting episodes in ur head. Like what if zedd himself showed up and buried the zords out the gate showing he could and then left his monster because he thought the rangers were beneath him. Then zordon released the new zords that were somehow protected from his magic

I agree, they needlessly put the zords (unknowingly) in danger. However, that would have meant less toys to sell, and we just can’t have that lol.

Well in the full uncut Zyu2 footage, originally Pirantishead already took control of the Dinozords before they called them. So in the final cut, it makes it look like the Rangers called the zords first, then Pirantishead froze them except for the Tyrannosaurus one and controlled that instead
This is everything I love about this channel, I appreciate all the hard work you both put into these. I'm sure that was a lot of work but loved the episode retelling with all the toys. Being that MMPR gets the most clicks for you, its definitely something worth doing with the other bad guys as they arrive (if you haven't already, and I probably forgot).
My headcanon is that Serpentera was originally the green ranger’s thunderzord… before Lord Zedd stole it.

I think Saban wanted to switch things up but I agree with Bruno because they could have defeated pirantishead easier but because it was a three parter that aired on primetime I feel like they rushed a little bit because they know once the new zords got introduced that parents are going to have to buy their kids those toys in stores

I saw this on shelf when I was in the US this weekend. Did not buy it but outside of missing a wash to give it more detail I think Hasbro did a good job on this one.

That was an Amazingly Great recreation of the second season first three episodes Bruno. And the answer I think is the Hatchasaurus.

I agree the Piranhashead Monster was on the Building not Giant. I'm sure they saw him on it and I didn't understand why they call the Zords when they should of jumped on the Building stopping him.
Granted it was the first time the show had to be more creative about writing something out to make way for a new thing. Also the reason the Thunderzords couldn’t be corrupted was because they where up grades.

In all fairness to the rangers, they were probably not thinking clearly after everything Zordon told them.
Out of all the stuff you've done, I think I enjoyed this the best. Episode recaps with figures are fun and very Robot Chicken-esque.

Bruno there is Zyu2 footage on here that the original Dino Megazord was originally meant to fight Piranthishead, take control of the Dragonzord once again, and be destroyed by the Ultrazord. But yes I wish Saban had went that route. Not to mention Piranthishead’s weapon was used to control the Dragonzord in the unused footage.
That's some of the same footage seen in the Mutiny, but with the Thunder Megazord spliced in (even though you can still see Megazord in the smoke if you look closely). It seems like they could have done more with that footage. They had it. They just didn't use it. Seems like the episodes could have made a lot more sense if they used more of the footage they had to work with.
@@MMPRtoysI’m glad the original footage surfaced it gave a glance of what could had been if the Dinozords stayed around a bit longer. Hopefully more Zyu2 monsters are made for the Lightning Collection and we can recreate not only show accurate fights but also the unused original versions of the intended fight.
I saw the zyu2 footage fight on youtube primator, robo goat and pirantashead was supposed to be destroyed by the dino ultra zord instead.
You forgot the rangers could have transferred enough power to Archibald and he could have siyah'd The monster saving the day

Pirantishead was always a favorite monster of mine as a kid. But now that I think of it, I think it was more because of the introduction of Lord Zedd than the monster itself. And how cool was it that we got a 3 part, 3 week, prime time premier of season 2 of MMPR???

You know, for all the million times I've seen the mutiny, I never noticed that they just called their zords out before the monster was giant. I never liked the design of pirhantishead (or however it's spelled). I wish they'd have used a cooler monster for such a pivotal story. Awesome video, though. I hope Hasbro keeps the monster train rolling.

Always thought it was funny how in Zyuranger the Rangers actually fight this monster with the Megazord/Daizyujin and in the American version they just splice up parts of the monster to make it look like he's fighting the Thundermegazord when it's plain as day he's not.
Funny enough the Zyurangers never fought him. That was filmed in Japan for the US, which they ended up not using. I'm not sure why. There were plenty of things they could have cut from those three episodes to have the Dinozords battle Pirantishead earlier on (and then splice something together with the Thunderzords later on).
@@MMPRtoys really? I've seen that Japanese video and always thought they actually did battle that monster. I actually just started watching Zyuranger so now I can watch and longer be thinking when are they going to fight Pirantishead
@@obsessivefanboy7 That's what's known as "Zyu2" footage. Super Sentai footage that was filmed only for Power Rangers. It was shot in Japan, but filmed for the US, and the US ended up cutting a lot of Zord footage in favor of the Thunderzords. That's why a bunch of monsters in the first half or so of season 2 never appear in the same shot as the Thunderzords (and if you look closely, you'll see Megazord in some of the explosions, or the tip of the power sword being pointed at a monster)

I think the early episodes of season two of Mighty Morphin are pretty rough around the edges overall looking back. To be fair though it must have been quite tough from a production standpoint, needing to introduce a new villain, having to introduce the Dairanger Zords to sell a new wave of toys, having to burn through the remaining Zyu2 footage which unfortunately didn’t feature the new Megazord they wanted to market so having to Frankenstein the footage together, not to mention all the pay disputes. It was probably an uphill battle! Still it did eventually manage to balance out later on and by season three they’d definitely found their flow.

I do agree that the rangers summoning their zords before the monster was grown giant was not a smart move on the rangers' part. Now I am not sure if Pirantishead could control the zords when he is grown giant or even control a megazord, although in the unused footage for Pirantishead, we do see that originally, the rangers weren't going to lose the Dinozords and that as soon as they regain control over their zords, they fight Pirantishead with the Megazord, but then Pirantishead takes control over the Dragonzord again, but Tommy tries getting control over the Dragonzord back, then Titatus is summoned, blasts Pirantishead, Dragonzord is free, they form Ultrazord, and they defeat the monster. I am not sure if that plot would have made more sense than the final episode given as to how originally, the rangers did summon their zords from the beginning despite the monster not being giant and the monster takes control over all the zords instead of freezing four of them.

You know I'm starting to see why Jason was eventually demoted as leader of the Power Rangers (when Tommy became White Ranger)
I don't know that Tommy did much better... he couldn't keep his green ranger powers. He lost Saba. He let the Thunderzords blow up. He let Ninjor and the Falconzord get taken by Rita & Zedd. He let the command center blow up. (Lost Kimberly as well 😜) Andros had to finish all of the bad guys Tommy let get away from MMPR through Turbo.
Zordon needs to share some blame in this. Mentor characters are often overlooked when it comes to Ranger incompetence. There were plenty of things Zordon could have done to prepare them for Lord Zed's monsters besides give a vague warning.

This is what should have happened Lord zedd should have destroyed the dino zords from jump and they should have gone on a quest to get the new Zords like they did with Ninja quest to defeat pirantishead because it would have been so much easier and fun and explore the lore more of power rangers
In the comic book the Dragonzord is persevere and use to combine with the White Tiger Zord

Would’ve been smarter IF the rangers used the power shield more often for the Megazoard and dodge attacks, would’ve destroyed most of the monster’s efficiently.
What I never got is after the battle is over why do the Thunderzords turn back into the Dinozords? Every time they are called they have to be transformed.
I'm not sure that made any sense... I can imagine the reasoning being something like trying to ease the young fans into changes (which clearly a lot of people aren't good with). We see 30 years later, "Bring back Tommy! Bring back Billy!" So, for those fans, they were still seeing the same MMPR suits and the original Dinozords in each episode.

I got the Lightning Pumpkin Rapper, but I already have toys of the other 4 and I’m satisfied with them so I don’t really need these Lightning Collectables unless something happened to my Pirantis or King Sphinx. I’ll admit these Lightning Collectables look cool and all but they lack the special abilities of their 5.5 predecessors. Plus I’d feel like I would be two timing the versions I’ve had since I was 6. I got Eye Guy and 8 of the other monsters for my 6th birthday. Already had Two-Headed Parrot along with Goldar. Didn’t get Stag Beetle until like 3 years later and Dramole at a flea market. Anyways, I’m running low on space for the shelf I keep all my Power Ranger villains on. Yet I still need Koragg and Stingrage. You know when Bandai was releasing the legacy collection, I was hoping they would do a villains legacy set. Figures of at least 9 villains from each season.

Why call the zords?
Well in Zeo apparently it takes a while for the Zords to get to Angel Grove. So maybe they call them before the battle starts just in case.........ignoring the command center has teleportation.
As to the figure itself, I still have an issue with the scale but I feel it's painted pretty well. It looks like a fish I used to own decades ago. They slacked off on the legs but sans needing a wash for shadowing. It's painted in a aesthetically please way to me.

I think it’s safe to say this is what happenes when you try to stretch 1 episode of zyu2 footage that probably didn’t fully know what to do into 3 parter and also had to work round introducing new toys
If it hadn't been for introfucing Lord Zedd and ousting Rita, it could've been just two. One would have been pushing it. The original plan was for two for sure with one last fight with the Megazord before it got overwhlmed and Zordon told them now was the time to upgrade; with Thunder Megazord's "light" being what finally fees Dragonzord.
Too bad the Rangers didn't have all blinged out Titanus with them to go against Pirantishead

Ummm… from memory, only the Dragonzord and Titanus are inactive. The original zords were used as a base for the Thunderzords… which, in turn, were completely destroyed and their spare parts used to make the zeo Megazord. But, then again, they could use some wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff to bring them back

It was Season 2, I guess they thought it was time for a change.
I know it may not be totally necessary to mention this but u forgot the atv race the rangers were on during the three parter cause it actually comes into play cause the Pirantishead does use the turning this evil powers on bulk and skulls atvs making go out of control
If I didn't remember the ATV race it'd be time to put me in a home 😛There was no reason to mention the ATVs. If Hasbro made Bulk & Skull figures, and some ATVs, I would have used them. These videos are about using what exists. But really, they could have cut the whole ATV thing and put more Dinozord footage in (which they had, but cut). Nothing happened to Bulk and Skull. Pirantishead made their ATVs go in reverse. That's really not such a terrible thing to do (and Bulk & Skull could have just jumped off, they weren't going fast enough to get hurt). It was established in my video, and the show, the he had the ability to freeze and take control of machines. Why mention the ATVs? We already know he can do that and I don't have a visual for it.

That's an entirely separate thought. The episode could have ended the same way while having the rangers put up a little bit better of a fight. They had footage from Japan that wasn't used, and a lot of recycled footage in what really didn't need to be a three part episode. More could have happened in a shorter amount of time.
