OSHA is being starved of human resources. In 2016 there was 954 enforcement units; as of 2019 only 845 compliance officers are on staff. Sadly this type of skills gap has a real effect on workplace safety. We have seen 103 more work-related injuries and Illness in 2018 the highest in a decade.
