What a great break from the millionaire van tours--not that I don't enjoy them but it would never be something I would want or could ever afford--this I could actually do--at 78 I'm still thinking about nomading again--did it from 1999 to 2001 in a Toyota class c--loved it
"If it's gonna break down, it might as well look cool" 🤣 Wise Words and so true! Awesome work on the van - the interior layout & woodwork is excellent! It'd be awesome to see you and the van at the 52nd Van Nationals July 2025 in Minnesota!
I graduated high school in 72 and I'll tell you the best vans we bought in that era were Ford econoline vans like she's got right there I had one that I had bean bag chairs and I have hammock in it. I would love to travel in a van like she has right now OMG she did a fantastic job and I could even stand up in that being 6 foot . Hope all is well still fighting the big C it's not gonna whoop me I'm gonna tell you that right now have a great holiday season stay safe stay strong stay healthy God bless I don't want to call you🎅✌👍PS my vans were just straight empty econoline vans it didn't have nothing in them.
That's so rad, I've seen a few friends do hammocks in their vans! Whatever works for you, don't need much to have a good time and get out there and explore
I’ve watched hundreds of van videos and this one is special. She’s an amazing young woman with a beautiful spirit. This is probably one of the best interviews as I’ve ever seen you do. The two of you have awesome chemistry. Just saying!
Thank you! It was fun filming and editing this one. Katarina is a great person and never looked at her more than a good and trustworthy friend. She is also dating one of my very good friends 😊 I like to think I have “chemistry” with a lot on my channel and that’s because so many in this lifestyle are easy to get along with. As a romantic setting, trust me it’s much more complicated haha. That all said, thank you for noticing because I feel this conversation was just two friends sharing passions with the internet
My Grandparents were Vanlifers & Spent winters in Florida. They drove a light blue Chevy Gseries with a storage rack. I have a picture of it. Loved this video! Old school is just cool. Props to Katerina for just doing it. I love the fact you built most of it out in the woods and rescued your dog. Its a very nice build. The angled wood looks great. I could spend all day in there. The tall windows are another bonus. I only see them on Dodges and usually just one.
Jarrod, I really enjoy your DYI builds tours. The lifestyle of the Rich and Famous gorgeous vans builds are like the Sears Wishbook. I love to drool over, but let's be real, more than likely will never happen, but maybe... maybe a DYI could be possible 🤔.
Love older cars, I have a 79' peugeot and those things still run and are super easy to diagnose issues yourself. Rust is the only problem lol, and it's not fun.
A little physics lesson for everyone. Nerd alert warning ⚠️ ‼️ ⛔️ 🤓 Yes. You do lose most of your cold air when you open a refrigerator door, but the amount of energy lost is minimal since air has a very low heat capacity. Specifically, the heat capacity of air is about 1 J/g (Joule per gram) degree Celsius at room temp. Compare that to water which has about 4.2 J/g degree Celsius at room temp. It’s 4 times more. A typical home fridge contains a couple hundred (200-300) grams of air while a 1 liter bottle of water, as an example, has 1000 grams. That bottle of water holds over 4,000 J/ degree Celsius of energy while the air only has 300 J/ degree Celsius. Add in all the food and drink of a fridge, reducing the amount of air and it’s easy to see the real energy in a refrigerator is stored in food and drink not the air. Therefore when you open the door and feel cold air come out of the fridge the amount of energy loss is very minimal. That being said there is something to be said for a chest cooler being more efficient than a stand up since cold air falls while heat rises. You get less heat loss from a chest cooler because the heat cannot escape the bottom as easily as it can from a stand up. Some of that can be mitigated by having really good seals on your stand fridge up door. That is why sometimes when you close a freezer door you can’t open in it. It’s because of pressure differential sealing. This is designed in to get a good seal and make a stand up refrigerator more efficient. I’m sorry, but I could not resist 🤓
@ you were 100% right! It’s not a big deal. It’s science. I am an engineer who deals with heat transfer and heat capacity in the pharma industry, and also happen to have done an internship eons ago for a major refrigerator manufacturer, so was exposed to how and why they design them the way they do.
First time watching your channel from England. I like your style. BUT…… I love this girl. What a delightful young woman she is. I could listen to her enthuse about anything. I travel the USA every year and run an infant UA-cam channel that’s super random. But….. I would love to travel in one of these older vans. I have a 1990 Astro 4.3 V6 auto panel van on the road and a 66 Chevy C10 in pieces that I started restoring which needs finishing. This video and the two of you had me smiling all the way through. Thank you both.
❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😅😅😅😅bon choul! F.o.r.d ( fix or repair daily)!.... my hubby hates ford! But yeah u did it!!! Soooo kooooollll!! We have a behemoth 2000 savana we r living in now neccecity dictates. Vanning w horses sounds better than damcing w wolves!!!!
Oh I’m sorry, sorry that I felt the person and their van is one of the same. Meaning a lot of her personality shines through the van build. Getting to know her makes the tour that much more enjoyable. So I’m sorry you don’t see it that way
Hey Jarrod, this is a great video. You were a fantastic host and she is a such a personality. It completely made my day.

You should get her a heater and some insulated window covers.
Her heater works great
I didn't hear her mention a heater.
very nice build
Use that dude to get your van built out, and then break up. A tail as old as covid😂
That build was cool.
How many miles on your van.
Remember she did an engine swap
2000 right now but who knows really 😂
Your a doll 😊
Isn’t all that wood heavy and lower you mpg?? That’s what I was told anyway.
It does but these vans are also designed to carry weight. Probably takes off 1 or 2mpg
Most of it is cedar which is pretty light actually but the fridge and 25 gallon water tank are heavy 😂
Lol..that was a $2000 van😂
🧠
🧮Will Share!
Too much talking show the van
