It's great to see all these different companies now coming out with quality filters at a price where you don't need to sell your first born to afford them. Great image too, especially considering the lack of astronomical darkness.
It certainly is Logan and Altair have produced some fantastic filters here at a great price. I was really impressed with the results especially considering the lack of astronomical darkness. Your image of WR134 was fantastic and definitely an inspiration for me.
Nice image and welcome back Glen. I was moving house over the summer ( still moving in ) too so was using my CAT 51 based grab and go set up when I had a clear night. I was thinking of upgrading to 3nm from the Altair 6.5 set I have, but will probably have to wait a while, still need to buy stuff for the house, and I would like some sort of permanent housing for my main Scope.
Moving house is a lot of work and there are always plenty of tome and money jobs. Kind of what has kept me busy this summer. The 3nm are well worth it and you’ll love the results when you get them. All the best in your new home/ clear skies
Thank you. The original image was a task in itself as I took it with my large newt and it needed 12panels in the mosaic. The file became so big it was hard to share anywhere. But was perfect for use for my intro. Glad you liked it and thanks for commenting, clear skies
@@AstroblokeI just went back and watched your video on the heart nebula.👍🏾👍🏾 I have been attempting to image it over the past week using a 200mm telephoto lens. I have Bortle 6-7 skies and it is tough to capture. I've never done mosaics, but maybe this will inspire me to try.👍🏾
@@Astrobloke Cheers Glen, at this very moment imaging fireworks galaxy, something very odd, just me sitting in a dark kitchen by back door, drooling over Nina on my laptop, somethings just hit my chair leg 😱..
Hi Glenn, That's a very clean final image of WR 134. Nicely done. It appears that the Altair SHO 3nm filters are living up to the expectation. It's hard to believe you got so many hours with the non-astronomical dark skies. However, by now, you should be rapidly getting more and more astro-dark skies. Clear skies, Glenn.
Hi Pat. Thank you for your comments mate. The filters are very good and exceeded my expectations. Having the obsy helps so much as even if there is just an hour you can grab it. The darkness is back now and looking forward to some long clear nights 🤞 Clear skies sir
Excellent video and image Glenn. Great to hear that these filters do the business, I'm in the market for a couple of sets of LRGBSHO filters and had been looking at these on Altair's website. I had originally thought about going for Chroma filters, but 2 sets of 2" LRGBSHO filters is the best part of £12k so I thought better of it!
Thank you Pete. After using the Chroma filters and these I can honestly say I cannot see a difference. Chroma and Astrodon are both way over priced in my opinion and where they may have been the best money could buy Altair have shown premium filters can be affordable. Good lick with your purchases. How has your weather been? My Uncle in Banff has had fog all week
@@Astrobloke Very interesting, Banff isn't that far away from me (I'm just south of Peterhead). And yes, we get a lot of fog, called Haar, during the summer months due to warm-ish/cold air mixing on the east coast. Very annoying indeed as it really only forms when the atmosphere is very still, which is of course the best time for astro!
Hi Glenn great to see another Video from you mate these filters look brilliant and at a great price, fantastic image as usual, clear skies till the next video
Thank you Tony. Feels like a long while but thats life. The image came out really well thanks to the great filter performance. Thanks for watching/ clear skies
Looks like a great set of filters Glenn, I have heard of a few issues with the Antlia ones, with low f ratios, I have the Optolong 3nm ones and are great but I am at f5 so not an issue…great video..👍🏻
They are super filters. My Antlias have been great until I dropped to F3.6. They just didn’t keep up. Very impressed with the Altair filter results. I think they are a very good price too. I ha e so e LRGB Optolong and they are very nice. Would like to try out their SHO. Clear skies
Cracking image mate & those filters seem to be performing great, I haven't done any astro since May plus my Newtonian has been testing my patience but hope to get back on it again soon. Clear skies
What a combination, astrobloke and altair products great astro products and a great astro photographer, just look at what perfection can produce 30k Glenn

Fantastic results with those filters
