Buy ice if you can still find any! First aid supplies! Propane for your grill! Two tanks! You can cook bacon, eggs, boil water, etc. Batteries! Extra flashlights! Depending on the wind your power can be down for weeks! Ammo! Charge your phones! Non-perishable foods! ONLY open your fridge doors when absolutely necessary! And if there are a lot of pine trees beside your streets be ready to survive on your own for a few days because they'll be blocking the roads! (I survived Andrew.) Good luck!

Have lived in Tallahassee since 1976. This town has so many huge trees everywhere! That’s our big problem, the trees fall on everything!! Killing people, destroying homes and cars. Power is always out for days on end!! The schools and colleges flood as well. I have only seen a cat-2😢

I remember when I lived there in Florida. Fill the water jugs. Take in the yard furniture. Make sure you have batteries, etc. etc. Now I live in Upstate New York. No worries.

I'm in Tallahassee and so far I'm the only one on my neighborhood to put plywood on my windows and sandbags at my door.. when the tornados hit 4 months ago, my windows were shaking (and that only lasted 10 min), so I'm not taking any chances with this since it's going to last hours!
You could say that about tornados, tsunamis, monsoons, or earthquakes. People need to learn how to adapt to these crazy disasters or we won’t be able to live about anywhere basically.
If the storm is as wide as they think it’s going to be and it doesn’t change paths anymore then NOLA will have the outskirts of the storm and should be fine.
Make history, most dangerous, very large, potential storm surge. This storm is average at best. Our state is more prepared than any for possibly storms.

That’s what they’re predicting now. It was CAT3 and 400 miles wide but now they’re thinking CAT4 and over 600 miles wide.
