In my native, (coorg )we call it butter fruit and we used to add sugar or jaggery and smash it. it was yummy childhood memories

Smashed butter fruit with smashed bananas and sugar, eaten with akki otti or ghee chapati, a divine breakfast for a kid growing up in coorg (me). Hate the fact I have to pay 300 per kg for butter fruit in the city now when we used to feed the excess to our cows in childhood. Similar story with jackfruit as well.
