What an amazing song. This song came out about the time I met my wife. I remember going to sleep at night with my then fiance with the CMT, The Country Music Television on and this song’s music video playing. Such great memories. We’re still going on strong after 28 years of marriage.
I was six years old in '93 when this song released. Every time it comes up on my playlist I am immediately transported back into the tree we played in as kids. My best friend Kelvin and I were sitting up there hammering nails into old wood planks, making it just a bit more comfortable and just being kids. This song comes on the little battery powered radio I had up there with us and we both just stop when we hear that opening melody and listen. No talking, no more hammering, both just listening and enjoying this awesome music. I can still see it plain as day while writing and listening. The sun was shining, warm but not too hot and not a single care in the world. Life was as perfect as I've ever experienced it in those days.
Ha Ha...Everyone likes the time of when they were hearing their tunes on the radio. My favorite C/W songs come from the 1980's....used to be a Top 40 Countdown each week (like Kasey Kassem's Top 40 Countdown). I mix those days!

On this day in 1994 {January 30th} "State of Mind"* by Clint Black peaked at #2 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart, for the two weeks it was at #2, the #1 record for both those weeks was "I Swear" by John Michael Montgomery... Willy & Clint ain't Maga Cult and never were. Not sure what happened to good people but back then it was mostly good people, of all skin tones. Music got everyone getting along. We can get back but overpopulation and Real Estate Developers are destroying all of us, on both sides of all borders.
Ain't it funny how a melody can bring back a memory Take you to another place in time Completely change your state of mind What a lyric. I've listened to metal and hard rock my whole life but growing up I also heard country thanks to my parents. Listening to it now brings back good memories of my mom.

Country had an incredible burst of excellent creativity, artistry, brilliance from about 1992-1998. Then it died, fell off stone dead. If anyone knows what happened I'd like to hear it.

Well give it some time. My generation did plenty of suffering in Iraq and Afghanistan. That oughtta produce some good country music.
Men of high character. Putting out awesome music. Not many of them left anymore. Thanks, Clint!
The crap they call country nowadays is just southern pop.
Make country music great again.
Instrumentation, lyrics, arrangements are the best in the business. He ignored what execs wanted him to be. Kenny and Tim and Toby (whom I still like a lot) followed more of a commercial appeal and created a certain image for themselves and Clint stayed his course and disregarded what anyone thought. All the way into the 2000s and his newest album that is about three years old. Not caring about record sales and sold-out stadiums. Most of his lyrics aren’t about the country life, either. in my opinion, it's the best song from Clint...love the solo violin very much in the end of the song...I can't remember how many times I listen to this song...it's everlasting song!
"State of Mind" also reached #2 on the Canadian RPM Country Singles chart...
Between 1989 and 2008 the Long Branch, New Jersey native had fifty-two records on the Hot Country Singles chart, twenty-nine made the Top 10 with thirteen reaching #1...
Seven of his fifty-two charted records were duets, three with Lisa Hartman Black and one each with Wynonna, Martina McBride, Roy Rogers, and Hank Williams, Jr.
Clint Patrick Black will celebrate his 59th birthday in five days on February 4th, 2021...
* "State of Mind" was Clint Black's third of five of his records to peak at #2...
And from the 'For What It's Worth' department, the remainder of the Hot Country Singles' Top 10 on January 30th, 1994:
At #3. "Live Until I Die" by Clay Walker

Guess you're a good country MUSIC lover?
Yes, thank you, Mr Black .
Saw him in a concert in gulf breeze back in '12. Never thought I'd see Clint Black in concert.
It’s funny how this melody brings back memories
A very Happy 60th Clint Patrick Black. Born February 4, 1962 Long Branch, NJ.. That's east coast but with a country name.. East coast but Country at heart.. Many more Clint Patrick
Sitting here in 2024 crying because I miss the good old days and good ole music😢😢!
Just commented, he's one of the last of the true country and western story tellers. Not to mention he's sexy as f*ck.
@@samanthapearson665 Straight facts!!!
Yes! that's true! and I also like you to try
Chris Ledoux 💕🤠
I was born in 1982. Grew up on this kinda music. Don't really listen to too much of today's country.
Willy & Clint ain't Maga Cult and never were. Not sure what happened to good people but back then it was mostly good people, of all skin tones. Music got everyone getting along. We can get back but overpopulation and Real Estate Developers are destroying all of us, on both sides of all borders.
Sounds just as good as the day this came out. One of my favorites.
I saw Clint Black at the Duquoin (Illinois) State Fair in 96 or so.. awesome live performance
Thanks so much for the love and support …Are you one of my great fans out there?
Ain't it funny how a melody can bring back a memory
Take you to another place in time
Completely change your state of mind
What a lyric. I've listened to metal and hard rock my whole life but growing up I also heard country thanks to my parents. Listening to it now brings back good memories of my mom.
All of his music is awesome I love old country music
I love everything about this song forever 💯🎸😎❤😍

Beautiful! The older couple reminds me of my mother's brother and wife. Looks just like them. Thanks, Clint.
Seen him last year in WV, such a class act! He’s way underrated.
Kevin Kersh indeed! We saw him last month and he’s just as good as way back when.
I remember my ol man playing this while riding Texas backroads. He faded...but this song never will
And the band never ever gets enough recognition in my thoughts love Clint Black but pay attention to the artist playing the instruments ❤

One of the most beautiful fiddle breaks to end a song.
I know, everytime I listen to this song, I replay the that last 45 seconds atleast 3 times.
This song is incredible. Love you!
This song speaks to me because music helps me cope with my chronic depression. My favorite artists are always there for me when I'm alone.

Enjoy country music. Garth Brooks probably came after Clint Black or George Strait Cross My Heart single however, Shoats kind a brought some of the older Johnny Cash Ring of Fire & such back to life in these rough times. Just found a new drink st Whole Foods . Good morning babe. Good looking handsome stud.
Memories that take me back to better music in a better world.

I have loved this song since it came out in 93. I blast it in my truck to this day.
I love how Clint Black is always smiling when he's performing. So charming and so charismatic.
Country had an incredible burst of excellent creativity, artistry, brilliance from about 1992-1998. Then it died, fell off stone dead. If anyone knows what happened I'd like to hear it.
Thats how you know it's from the heart is when due to an overabundance it over flows, poors out down my arms and fills up pamphlets.
Aint it funny How a melody, can bring back a memory! Take You to another Place and Time, Completely change Your State of Mind! 😍.
Clint Black is a true Country Artist, & One of the Greatest Ever to Play Country Music. IMHO

yes pure true modern day country
This song which is not meant to be overtly religious has brought me closer to God on more than one occasion.. as who hasn’t been “walking down a lonely highway.. thinking when thing went my way and not the road I’m on....” but “I can always make it in a wind a prayer and a song...”?

Melody bring back the memory, that's very true. There's a lot of music that brings back memories of some of the worst times in my life, but I love that music, but glad I'm over the worst times.
One of my favorites! Haven't heard this song on the radio in a long time.
They rarely play it here in Arkansas and I usually have the radio on classic rock or classic country
