- I learned something from a comment on one of my recent videos.......Thank you Aaron for bringing this to my attention.
Sawyer even clearly displays on the back of the packaging how to use the mesh case as a gravity filter.....I never noticed that either lol. I'm not feeling very smart at the moment......

Well D'oh, this was hiding in plain sight on the box, but I did not see it; truly I need to clean my tri-focals. After watching your video here is what I added to my mesh bag. There are neck straps with a quick release clip, often used for holding an ID card. Put one in the mesh bag for connecting to the mesh bag's small loop when needed. This provides a bigger loop for hanging the bag. Thank you for sharing Aaron Hartman's tip.
Lol. Like I said, I can't believe I didn't know that. Hiding out in the open like that ha. Some of us youtubers are not afraid to admit we don't know everything and are willing to put themselves out there to show a bit of humility. It's real. Good idea with the neck strap. Who is Aaron Hartman?

Good on you for owning up to it. I didn’t know it either. Buuuut you do have a good redundancy plan with your hack if that bag rips apart and becomes useless.

I used a hole punch in the corners like you. I’ve seen the mesh bag but felt the rope made it more height adjustable.
I tend to use the cnoq bag instead.
I'll probably just stick to the rope method myself.
Hah nice. I ended up using that bag to hold sandcrabs when surf fishing 😅

It is. lol But it has been brought to my attention that some kits don't come with the bag. I have heard multiple accounts of it. Regardless, I can't believe I never knew this.

Hi Justin, my Sawyer mini didn't come with a string bag. I did a similar mod to you anyway. I used a hole punch rather than a hot poker though, you nutter! 😅

Just like you, all of my sawyers that I purchased just came plastic wrapped in the day and no bag. But we use a similar method on our canoe trips with a much larger bladder as usually quite a few of us. I still have about 6 sawyers still in the packaging with no mesh bag and were bought at Walmart in the USA(I am in Canada), I would buy when on sale. Cheers Fred

@ItsGoodintheWoods I just ordered two of the gravity adapters. I thought they were in the sawyer kit and they are not. Have the same kit you do I'm pretty sure.
