    It lives up to its name. A compact phone packed with power and features inside.

    Thank you so much for finally doing this teardown. I was really curious about the internals. It's a shame it's so difficult to access the battery and also expensive to replace the front glass since it contains the screen.

      How do you rate the serviceability of this mobile ?
      Do you find it easy to change the battery after say 2 years?

    •  3 роки тому

      Hi! No antenna cable? I have one that had water damage, I replaced the screen, but I have no radio signals. No wifi, no gsm/4g, no Bluetooth. Could you please shed a light. Or you think the motherboard is done?

    So to change the battery .you have to disassemble the whole phone?

    This is such a well-engeneered phone. Even buttons have their own brackets. Built to last. Fine Japanese work!

    @wit rigs main camera flex cable is also accessable from back, cover lock similar to nfc flex lock.
    But overal very useful video, helped to find out all tricks without braking nothink. I had water damage, after reassemble camera stopped working. When taking out motherboard it little bended and camera flex disconnected. It's little tricky with that part.

    Compact is more complicated. Great build quality though.

      @@EricWitrigs i have z3compact its body is so flimsy, that the glass panels cracked by itself twice. a touchscreen came off as well. after this phone i always watch teardown vids before i buy a phone, to avoid idiotic designs like this one.

    My phone does not have any SIM connection and I am sure it is an hardware issue. Is there an exchangeable module like an antenna or similar which may help?

    • @dustycook3213
      @dustycook3213 3 роки тому

      I have the same issue. I thought it was because I dropped it. Sim card randomly stops reading/network no longer detected =(

    • @ruckb
      @ruckb Рік тому

      Had the same issue .. took a while to get a SIMCard reader for replacement. Opened it (thanks for the Video!) and found broken solerjoints on the Ground pins of the SimCard reader. So I did not replace it, but only re-soldered the connectiosn. not sure if this was the issue, but so far the phone is working again!

      They could have, it's a design to be like the iPhone and other modern day smart phones, everybody uses blue tooth these days anyway.

    So much plastic reinforcement, this thing is build like a tank. You are not going to bend this quickly! I think with less plastic they could have made the battery wider and thinner and thus the phone thinner (but same width). But than it would be less strong.

    • @kakusei3672
      @kakusei3672 6 років тому +3

      Rs Rs it feels solid. Weight and thickness on point for comfort. Maybe not trendy looking but efficient.

    What a dumb ass design to have all that extra room behind the battery filled with useless plastic. How about you put a heatsink in the compact phones for once Sony!
