The Virginian falls in love with the schoolteacher in the episode FELICITY's SPRING from season 3,but unfortunately she dies in the end.JAMES DRURY once said that this episode was the one who was often cited as the fan's favorite.

Totally loved "The Virginian" and everyone else. James D ? passed away last year I think it was in April. In 2016, I watched the series every night 1&1/2 hr. each episode soo much that I told my grandson, "I dreamt The Virginian, was my boyfriend, he laughed & said, "It's bc you are living to watch him every night." I replied, "Well yeah."
I was never aware of The Virginian but thank you for another wonderful Don Williams song.

Different circumstances for feature films and TV movies set in the west where the writers have the option to see the love story through to marriage and lives together and forever.
What a beautiful song -- music, lyrics, voice -- gentle, yet full of passion and feeling. And for "The Virginian" faithful, whether veterans or newbies, these beautifully assembled clips of memorable moments are filled with emotion.

Excellent; a remarkable achievement. Our host -- and we viewers -- are fortunate that there's an embarrassment of riches from which to select, edit and assemble these "Virginian" essentials. For those of us who've seen all nine years' worth, it undoubtedly brings back a flood of memories from the stories themselves and sometimes what station in our own lives we were. Inevitably some of the episodes haven't been viewed / seen in a few years; and a few decades in other instances.
0:29 - 0:31 So many sentimental times --- joyful or sorrowful -- at the episode's conclusion we saw the departing-Medicine Bow-guest star waving farewell to the regular cast member(s) from the coach of the departing train -- a REAL working train mind you -- most often from the end car's open vestibule. We know that train is taking the young lady down that endless track with her -- and our -- bounty of memories of Shiloh, Medicine Bow and its men.
Steve definitely did all right for himself with one of the 1960s prettiest and perkiest actresses and personalities, the Dodge Rebellion girl herself, Pamela Austin, in 'It Takes a Big Man.'
The wedding between Betsy (Roberta Shore) and guest star Glenn Corbett from 'The Awakening' was a good call for inclusion. Would be nice, oh so nice, to give the other key lady of Shiloh, Elizabeth (Sara Lane), her due. To our talented presenter: I'm not proposing cutting one precious frame (ed. - well, maybe just a few seconds off those extended Dana Wynter clips from 'If You Have Tears'), but if you could find it in yourself to (somehow) extend the music just another 12 - 15 seconds you could present worthy footage of her and Stacey (Don Quine), the Grainger siblings. As for Elizabeth, 'Vision of Blindness' is a pivotal episode -- no, not because a regular is blinded and the show filmed on a scenic, distant location -- but because finally, part way into her third "Virginian" season, Sara Lane is handed a love story; one that's beautifully and tenderly played opposite rugged John Saxon. Just before tragedy strikes (ed. - "damn you, Ben Johnson!"), they 'seal the deal' with a kiss. A kiss of gentle, real passion. That was quite a significant advancement for Elizabeth. Sara Lane: a true equestrian and a good actress gifted with such an enchanting voice and mesmerizing, full figure.
MIA is Quine's Stacey. That's appropriately remedied with a clip of Stace's (ed. - Stace -- as he's affectionately called) young lady of the hour, a pretty blonde, Lee Kroeger, in the 'Stacey' episode. She's vital to his recovery from nerve damage to his injured shoulder and arm. Her shallowness -- avoiding him -- jeopardizes that. Stacey -- and viewers -- can thank her mother (Barbara Werle) for instilling some humanity in her daughter which results in reuniting the two young people at fade-out.
. . . A Trampas candidate: Katharine Ross, who's afflicted with a club foot, in the very tender episode, 'Dark Challenge,' that is complicated by her disapproving father, Victor Jory. . . . Plus a Trampas proposal / suggestion at 2:22 - 2:24: Speaking of Victor Jory surely, you can find / insert a much-improved 'Melanie' shot of Susan Clark's Melanie, Trampas' love interest who's the terminally ill daughter of a different Jory character two seasons later; really. That episode made generous use of the wilderness portion of the Universal backlot; beautiful coverage of McClure and Clark as a couple abound.
So glad you included Randy's involvement with Peggy Lipton and their spot-on kiss from 'The Wolves Up Front, the Jackals Behind.' Randy and Peggy played opposite each other very well, despite the intrusive presence of a dofus ably played by Michael J. Pollard. I thought Peggy looked downright radiant. I liked Randy, so there I was rootin' for the lovebirds all the way. In the end: all for naught. As with all series regulars, explanations usually aren't scripted when someone exits. Well, when Randy all of a sudden vanished beginning the fifth season, I envisioned, I liked to think, he went back to Montana and made a committed life for himself -- reuniting with Peggy and her approving father, wheelchair-confined Jay C. Flippen.
Also personally, I'm glad you found room for the prolific '60s and '70s TV guest performer Lisabeth Hush from 'Star Crossed' whom I'll assume the serious and focused Clu Gulager enjoyed engaging in some very dramatic Ryker scenes. She has a unique look and never disappoints.
'Hats off to you!' for opening this three-minute vocal, instrumental and visual treat with a key episode re the Virginian's love life -- 'The Town Killer' -- spotlighting the luminous, sensual, so sweet Brenda Benet. KEY plot and character development abounds. As written, directed and acted: with the near certainty that the Virginian was going to valiantly lose his life within the next morning's grossly outmatched firefight in town, it was indeed appropriate -- and refreshing -- that besieged townsman Howard Duff's daughter (Benet) would give herself to him (i.e., make love) that night out on the prairie; the two alone by the campfire, in their own intimate, compassionate world, revealing things about themselves, perhaps for the very last time.
While not seen from the front, ever-so-elegant Vera Miles closes out the montage -- guesting as the widow of a founding member of a newly formed polygamist society in 'Experiment at New Life,' a Virginian chapter of "The Men from Shiloh." Pre episode fade-out the words are few yet the eyes and expressions of Drury and Miles speak volumes regarding their feelings, as he mounts his season-nine Appaloosa to depart and return to Shiloh. He: "If you ever need me . . ." She: "I know." Here we pick up the scene immediately after, with a Chapman-Crane-type shot masterfully rising offering a representative perspective as big and as open as these dozens of characters' hearts.
As with most popular shows, each has millions of fans -- with their own interpretations, valuations and "favorites." This was a nostalgic exercise expressing a few of mine.
Congratulations and Thank You, Don Williams, for a truly beautiful, warm, well-sung and well-scored love ballad, "Fool, Fool Heart." It gently and lovingly underscores this compilation of memorable, treasured "The Virginian" footage. For all devotees -- we are truly fortunate how these images resonate with us.

Once uploaded, a video cannot be re-edited; I'd have to upload it all over again. I do plan on re-doing some of my videos (which will be uploaded on my backup channel) but I have no further plans for this one at present. (I do have several more Virginian videos planned.)
Whenever I edit a music video for a long running tv series, I'm aware that the footage I use is only a fraction of what's available. Also, my episodes often come from various sources, therefore the print quality will vary.
Partly due to the length of the song, I made the decision NOT to include all the Shiloh characters, thus leaving out Stacey, Elizabeth, and Judge Garth. (Stacey also didn't seem to have enough romantic encounters to balance in with the other five featured.)
Betsy's wedding is included here because it's presented as another lost love of Randy's; I decided to keep things from the boys' point of view. It's not intended as a slight on Elizabeth, who is a very sweet girl too.

This was my introduction to Maricatrin's Music Videos. Obviously I enjoyed this so much -- the fact it centered on "The Virginian," a personal favorite, helped -- I'll look forward to scouting out some of your others.

If I may offer an editorial / character valuation:
Randy's and Betsy's relationship was consistently like brother-and-sister and/or platonic friends. We never saw Randy, by himself or with the boys, pining for Betsy. Sure, he liked her; it would indeed be hard for any of the Shiloh men not to. Ed. - same could be said about viewers. IF there was anything there the writers would surely have occasionally given the Virginian, Trampas or L.Q. Jones's Belden some bunkhouse banter to mouth to their young friend. Indeed, Betsy was charmed by Randy's presence, his guitar-playing, singing and horseback riding skills, his friendship. To a certain extent, it was his youth, as Randy and she were closest in age. That means something.
Viewers did witness Betsy develop a crush on the boy from Chicago, Eddie, nicely played by David Macklin in 'The Fortunes of J. Jimerson Jones' and 'The Intruders' both year two episodes. Qualifying my valuation of Randy and Betsy, the IMDB synopsis for the first of those two stories states: "Betsy has her first love with a cub reporter" -- that being Eddie.
If there was lingering passion between Randy and Betsy, plus the significance of their association with a high-profile, 90-minute series, the press, e.g., TV GUIDE and dozens of the metropolitan dailies, "back in the day" would surely have followed that and written about it; milked it for all its worth, especially on "slow news days." Like the entertainment writers seemingly never let up on Matt and Kitty on "Gunsmoke" (who REALLY had an intimate relationship, just never discussed; totally downplayed it) or Perry and Della on "Perry Mason" and the castaways on "Gilligan's Island."
In two fourth season stories, when Randy is with Peggy Lipton's Dulcie (Peggy Lipton, two years prior to starring as 'the blonde' on "The Mod Squad," 1968 - 73) and then Karen Jensen's Gloria in 'A Bald Faced Boy' (Karen Jensen, three years prior to playing AND being the hottest of the trio of starlets on "Bracken's World," 1969 - 70) he behaves and talks like a young man smitten with, attracted to, devoted to and IN LOVE WITH these young women. And how fortunate for Randy, as viewers clearly see, the two pretty blondes, nice individuals, are similarly attracted to him. Definitely none of that brush-off "Oh, let's be friends" b.s. If love for Betsy had materialized, it would have popped up out of the blue; not true. Why, you could have knocked me over with a feather -- using an expression as old, or older than, "The Virginian" -- Owen Wister's novel (1902), not the series.
If Randy did have feelings -- surpassing friendship -- for Betsy they certainly weren't on the level of his for Dulcie or Gloria.
The unfortunate thing for both Randy and Roberta -- AND the audience -- is that their respective, pivotal love story storylines were poorly handled. Betsy's marriage to Glenn Corbett's minister, heroically putting down a mining war, was RUSHED into marriage in one contrived episode due to her personal choice to bail on the show. Obviously producers preferred nuptials with Corbett's reverend than having Betsy trot off to Chicago to reunite with David Macklin's Eddie. I seem to recall Diane Roter, essentially her replacement as Jennifer, a new character, saying some of her (year four) scripts still had Betsy written in them.
Then there's Randy's Randy toiling along for 70 episodes over two and a half seasons with little if any romance. Then finally, yet unforgivably, his last two episodes -- forever -- show him falling head over heals with that week's young, female guest star. Unbelievable, but it's true. Couldn't those clowns at Universal and / or NBC "spread out" their series regular's two love stories, in order that it looks like they meant something, that they were sincere? Ed. - "Randy, you just professed your undying love and over-the-top passion for Peggy Lipton then you instantly tossed her aside because you're nearly using the same lines on Karen Jensen on the next 'Randy' episode -- and his/your last. What gives?!"
Well, I had NO idea or intention to ruminate that long. . . . I'm delighted to know of your plans for additional "The Virginian" videos. This one deserves repeat viewing.

Regarding Randy and Betsy: as you say, tv character's motivations can get rather short shrift, but it's my impression that Randy's feelings for Betsy weren't entirely brotherly, hence I had no problems including it. Visuals are the first thing in my videos, after all.
That commentary about tv regulars falling in love made me laugh; screenwriters should have had a checklist of when, and how deeply, regulars fell in love (in all fairness, though, episodes were often aired out of sequence, so timing would still have been an issue for them to deal with.)
