I thought it was really inspired how you built up the montage of their pain to end on Sarah and then go straight into the moment of Joel comforting Ellie that cements their bond and shows what he lost has been restored. Such a great juxtaposition. Edits like that are why I'll always watch.
There is something about The Last Of Us that makes it feel so personal. There is this feeling that you cannot explain with mere words. It's a story about love, but also about humanity. And yet, there is something bigger than all of that. Our families. The ones we grow up with, the ones that teach us what's out there. Slyfer, as always, did a masterpiece in storytelling.
People who give Bella shit are blind, one of the best performances I’ve seen. No one could have played Ellie better than she did. Can’t wait for the next season! When you’re lost in the darkness look for the light.
That side by side of Joel holding desperately to Sarah, knowing that she's gone but unable to let her go, and Joel holding Ellie, knowing that she's alive and refusing to let her go just perfectly encapsulates why he makes the decision he does in the end. The ending of the first season/game of The Last of Us is so horribly beautiful because it makes such perfect sense and yet is so hard to accept, and you showcased that so beautifully here! 💛

No other story has ever had such an emotional impact on me, like theirs did. And still does. It’s the best and worst feeling. I don’t think I will ever get over them and their story but I really wanna always remember the amount of unconditional love they carry for each other because that was the beauty in it. And because this amazing hbo series has done such a good job at honoring the game, and doing it justice, but that’s exactly what I’m afraid of now, for season 2. I don’t know how I will be able to go through that a second time.

I liked the show, I dont think it will ever top the game but I gotta appreciate that it did a lot of things that we loved the game for. Joel felt downgraded but the change in the last few episodes of joel, isnt a weak old man but a force of nature if crossed and Ellie feeling as if she was in charge only for her to be that little girl that we cared for was amazing.

Since they changed quite a bit in the show compared to the game, I really hope that they don't kill Joel in Season 2. It's probably very unlikely since that would be a major change from the game compared to little ones they did here and there, but like... Hear me out. What if Abbey killed Tommy instead, mistaking him for Joel? Even though that would suck, Joel would, of course, go on a vengeance spree without question, especially since Tommy is going to be a father in the show version. Now of course Joel still lied to Ellie, and Ellie of course despises him for it, so, after Tommy's death they both go on the hunt for Abbey together and slowly rebuild their relationship on the way, almost like how we see them connect in the first game. And if anything, he dies at the end with their relationship repaired. Even if Joel dies in Season 2, which is more than likely going to happen, they at LEAST need to give him an honorable way out, not 20 minutes into the first episode by some teenager with a golf club. Since their making changes to the show, that NEEDS to be one of them. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. Oh, and great video by the way😃
I first got into TLOU last summer thanks to a roommate of mine. I hated him cause he was a bad roommate, but he filled me in on the game while he played it and I became fascinated with it. When I found out they were releasing a series, I knew I had to watch it. TLOU has become one of my favorite things in such a short amount of time. This little tribute is amazing and is a perfect summary of the show. When Ellie realizes it's Joel, not David, who's got her, the look in her eyes makes me choke up every time. That's the look of a frightened little girl in need of nothing more than her dad. I may only be a young man who just graduated from college, but I already know I will be like Joel when I have a family. Like Joel, I'm more than willing to sacrifice the world for my future family's safety
4:07 to 4:25 totally made me heartbroken and it shattered to pieces, but being pieced back right afterwards with "baby girl." It touched my heart and soul the moment it came into the Look for the light part, and I think the music, By Starlight will definitely stuck in my head for the next few months! I wish and hope everything goes well for your movies and most importantly take care of yourself

A small detail in game when Jesse says to Ellie you come from the east. When giving directions to find Joel and Tommy It actually is a reference bcoz Ellie is the light. Her name meaning is light. And the fireflies says that whenever in darkness look for the light. It means Ellie is the light and the cure. In this whole game Ellie is the light. She is the immune girl she is the cure. So when Jesse was giving directions and he told Ellie to go to east direction it is like the sun rises in the east and she is that light Unfortunately it was over there😢 Even in HBO series when Joel, Ellie Tess were eating Ellie was highlighted under the sunlight and many times in the game and series she has been referred to the light.
