And it’s what drives the entire narrative of the game, including the flashbacks. It’s not like he dies and then the game is about something else. It’s really not hard to empathize with her, someone murders your dad youre gonna want revenge, right? In Abbys minds she’s completely justified and Joel is evil, in Ellies mind Joel is taken from her before she could fully forgive him and she sees Abby as evil. The games just showing that this world has consequences, all those people we killed as Joel had friends of family, just like it would be in real life. Every conflict is a matter of perspective, everyone thinks they’re the good guy. With him dying the way he does, the player feels the same feelings as Ellie throughout the game, initially confusion and hatred, and as we get to know Abby we’re challenged to sympathize with her just as Ellie is. If you don’t wanna sympathize with her cause she killed your favorite character, fine, but it’s really easy to see why she did it. Faxtel -4_ Up until this moment I thought part 2 has to be this dark game about hate where we grieved Joel and saw how Ellie lost herself. But your comment just made me think about that last message Naught Dog left for us, the new menu screen. It’s a message about hope. And I just realized that, if Abby’s enlightenment moment occurred at the Theatre, Ellie’s occurred at Santa Barbara. At that moment she decided to not consume the last bit of humanity left in her. She found the light at the end of the tunnel. She let it go. She found the light in that last conversation with Joel. She can try and forgive someone that took away her life’s meaning.
I really dont find the words, it just hit right to the heart, I love Joel, he is so human and the love he has to Ellie is so strong that we (The players) feel the same for Ellie and thats why play TLOU2 is very difficult, because we understend Joel and see Ellie as a daughter that is suffering her lost. Amazing video, im fucking crying.
Ellie is literally the strongest character I have ever see/played as... she’s a inspiration and this story is tragically sad but amazingly great at the same time

@@tiagoassasins7690 she is beyond damaged, she is broken and bitter. she lost everything - her family, her friends, joel's memories. and it is hard to believe a person goes thru all she has , loose everything she did and then let the reason for her all journey to go away out of a random image of joel that comes to her mind at that last moment. it is utter far fetched as most of the things that drive plot in this game
you editing so well, it's hard to no to cry. no matter what happennned between them ellie was there to the end, and she always gonna love and miss him. joel deserve better, they both deserve better i would love see so many more moments of them. good job.
I remember playing this game like 5 years ago, sitting in my room with no idea where I was going in life, with divorced abusive parents and a million reasons to hate life. But the first game was everything I needed, and that sounds corny and stupid until you realize that Joel and Ellie became your family when you needed one. It was just a game but playing it felt like living through a bond that grew and had absolutely nothing to do with sex or any stupid shit like it. It was love on the simple level of affection, and that gave a lot of people hope in life. Seeing Joel die was like losing family that actually meant something to you, and watching Ellie go through the game was absolute hell. Putting the guitar at the same window that was the first game title screen was like watching life fall apart, and if you understand that, you deserve a fucking hug.
its crazy how depressing this game was it makes me so sad to just think that we will never be able to see them together EVER again makes me wanna vomit. i really love Ellie i really hope she is going back to Jackson and not killing herself from depression or panic attacks i hope dina hugs her when she arrives at jackson and tommy stops being mad :( RIP Joel RISE HIGH KING! -thank you for your time :(
I do think her panic attacks are over. As you see in her journal, and her flashbacks, she can't see Joel other than bloody and beat up... But at the last moment, when she was about to kill Abby, she saw him smiling. I do think she finally was able to let him go, after years of trauma. At least, wherever she goes, she can start rebuilding herself.
Gérard Lacroix bro, is it just me, or are we going to play as Abby and Lev on the third game? Does that mean we are going to track down Ellie because if Abby and Lev did regroup with the fireflies and the fireflies are still finding a cure, and since Ellie is like the only person that’s immune, so does that mean the fireflies are going to attack Jackson just so they could get to Ellie ? 🤔 because that’d be interesting, bro. Tell me what you think might happen on the last of us part III game, bro.
Man, both games fit together like an elaborate puzzle piece of sorrow and joy and everything in between and I don’t care what people think, part II is incredible to me. Love the edit, good work!
This video gives me chills everytime. Really beautifully made and makes you feel all nostalgic. It brings out so much emotion and alot of people hate the storyline but if a game can make you a feel a certain way that not even a movie can do, you know it succeeded, and thats what makes it beautiful , despite all the sadness

When Joel Died I sobbed my eyes out and got so angry. I wanted revenge so bad, but when we killed Owen and Mel. I didn’t feel it anymore. I still wanted Abby dead, and even some of the time I was playing as her, but in the end like Ellie gave to Joel. Forgiveness.
Ok i can"t even talk about anything specific because there would be literally too much to tell, but seriously, what an awesome, great emotional video for those two. Loved it from beginning to end!!
We could tell she still loved and cared about Joel despite what he did as seen in her face when he died, when she was at his grave, and her determination to bring justice to Abby. -RIP Joel Miller.
the final conversation paints ellie's journey in a totally new light. it was about so much more than just avenging joel. she was robbed of the chance to forgive him and and to mend their relationship. she thought killing abby would get rid of the grief and regret. i want to replay the game with that new perspective but i need time to recover lol.
I'm late, but this is BEAUTIFUL. the parallel between Joel and Ellie in the first game and the second game are so bittersweet. Both games are masterpieces that no one will forget about for a long time- no matter their opinions on them.
@@captainanyonebutteo9126 it wasn't as good as the first one, but it was a great game that was a emotional one to play I think they were both masterpieces
Still cries whenever I rewatch their story.. Ellie mattered, even to one person, she mattered.. You can never take that away from Joel, the decision he made that day.. If only he lived longer in TLOu part 2
The greatest game I have ever played. The way it puts you in the character’s shoes and shows you the different perspectives from certain situations. It’s so realistic to how things would be if this actually happened in real life.
this game is so fricking great. in the first one, we can see a beautiful relationship between two people, a father who lost her real daughter and a daughter who lost everyone she loves. and, they were complementary for each other. the second one is so great, too, like the first one. in the second one, the dynamic I just described isn't here anymore, but here we can see what a man, what someone can do and can be for the ones they love. and Joel's death just show HOW it's easy to die in a world like that. yeah, Joel's a great character, but even though he's one the main and even though he's so good, doesn't mean he couldn't die, that's the thing that fucked all of us up when we saw it. and nothing, I love this game so much, even though I've never played it at all, and just watched it being played by others. I felt so many emotions that made me speechless, and really, it's one, or the best, of the best games ever.
I've been rewatching all your tlou videos recently, and ugh, my ass is depressed again. It's been a while since fictional characters hit me this hard and left me wrecked for days bc of what they went through. I love the kind of hopeful but bittersweet tone to this one, really shows the beauty AND tragedy of their relationship.
I LOVE the start of the video, when Ellie presses the button on the music player and it start playing Revival, it gave me major chills. Sooooooo Good ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
I have a beautiful saying from my grandpa that works for Joel. „After a long journey, the last journey was yet to come. But there was no way back. But the way home.“ Home to Sarah.
It's all the Joel and ellie flash backs that make this game so emotional we love them and you can see the reason we hate how the story took away all of the warmth to a cold bitter end
Honestly the ending was not as cold and bitter as one might think. When Ellie returned to the farm she was wearing Dinas bracelet indicating that she probably went back to Jackson. Also, the final scene showed that she is ready to forgive Joel meaning she can finally move on and leave the past behind. I read this quote somewhere that nails it for me: „The Last of Us 1 ends hopeful on the surface but with misery underneath whereas The Last of Us 2 ends with misery on the surface but hopeful underneath.“
@@colehopper8470 i feel that too. still leaving abby alive at the end made the whole game void. let her kill abby at the end and take abby's segment from the game and this could have been almost as good as the 1st one.

Yup, but sadly too late :( But here's hoping there'll be a part 3 about her redemption and path to happiness.

Joel was the Rick Grimes of The Last Of Us series. He lost Sarah, He took care of Ellie like his own daughter. He deserved a better farewell mahn!
"They told me a joke and i thought about you." Oh my god. I am crying.
its crazy how depressing this game was it makes me so sad to just think that we will never be able to see them together EVER again makes me wanna vomit.
i really love Ellie i really hope she is going back to Jackson and not killing herself from depression or panic attacks i hope dina hugs her when she arrives at jackson and tommy stops being mad :(
RIP Joel RISE HIGH KING!
Aw, the thank you so much! ☺️
Aw, so glad to hear! ❤️
That was perfection. Thankyou a million times over!

Finished the last of us part 2 today and my first thought was to go on UA-cam to see if I can find edits of it. And not only did I find a last of us edit, but I found one by one of my all time fav editing channels.

This is the best joel and ellie tribute
Aw, thank you so much, I'm glad you think so. ^-^
@@ItsATwinThingYT it had me in tears
I've been rewatching all your tlou videos recently, and ugh, my ass is depressed again. It's been a while since fictional characters hit me this hard and left me wrecked for days bc of what they went through. I love the kind of hopeful but bittersweet tone to this one, really shows the beauty AND tragedy of their relationship.
Aw, thank you so much I'm glad you enjoy watching them. I adore these characters so much! ♥️
Ellie was the son Joel never wanted to lose.
Joel was the father Ellie never thought she would have.
I LOVE the start of the video, when Ellie presses the button on the music player and it start playing Revival, it gave me major chills. Sooooooo Good ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much hahaha, I thought it was a cute idea so I'm glad you liked it! ☺️
Honestly I feel like a happy ending doesn’t fit this game. Happy moments sure but that’s not really what this game is trying to invoke.
I hated Abby so much in the beginning. I wanted to see her die. But at the end I was glad that Ellie didn‘t kill her. I felt Abbys pain throughout the story and expecially at the end. I felt so bad in the fight because she literally lost EVERYONE.
