The thing that really makes this skit is that Heidi Gardner _never_ breaks character.
Yes yes yes let’s watch Bevis and Butt Head, please!
FIRE FIRE YEAH
The ending was “King of the Hill” from the same creator as Beavis and Butthead (Mike Judge).
Thanks. I knew hill was in the title but all I could think was over the hill lol
Amazing to think Mike Judge also wrote and directed Office Space plus co-created Silicon Valley
@@jamesrawlins735 Don't forget the movie Idiocracy, co-written and directed by Judge.
OMG REALLY? YOU DONT SAY???? GREAT OBSERVATION SKILLS SHERLOCK
The funny thing is that SNL producer Lorne Michaels doesn’t like it when cast members break character. But it’s what makes the skit even funnier. It reminds me of the old Carol Burnette Show. 😂
Great memories, the Carol Burnette Show. Thanks.
Well if he doesn't like cast members breaking character how the hell did Jimmy Fallon stay on the show for so long?
I just wrote that!!
he seems to have tempered over the years... and your call back to CB is glorious... the elephant two take they could not use was amazing. this is perfectly my mental best. ... Vikki flooring both Conway and Van Dyke so hard they fell to the floor after Mama asking if.... well.. i will leave it others to seek.
It's the best when they break character!
The SNL skit with Ryan Gosling being abducted by Aliens is great.
This was the best skit in years. It cracked me up SO hard.
SAME 😂😂
@@brittreacts Right? I can't not laugh when they do. 😂 There's another great one with Will Ferrell in a hot tub you need to see. It's the same sort of situation.
@@brittreacts It's this one: With Drew Berrymore and Jimmy Fallon ua-cam.com/video/gqeQLV04kwU/v-deo.html
This skit will be prominently featured in compilations of the greatest character breaks in SNL history from now on. It’ll be the stuff of legends.🤣
Also see Gosling in his recurring role in the "Close Encounter" sketches, featuring Kate McKinnon. They had her come back to the show to recreate her character at the beginning of this episode. It's probably best to see the earliest ones first, because they had to top themselves by getting more extreme every time.
Britt is so FINE!!!
Ryan Gosling (Beavis) and Mikey Day ( Butthead) showed up to the Premiere of Ryan's new movie "The Fall Guy" Dressed as Beavis and Butthead from SNL
😂😂😂😂
I still remember my first time watching Bevis and Butthead, the video commentary with a blurry bison running and Butthead saying "Whoa, that's a big dog"
Mikey Day was playing the role of Butthead in this sketch. I think what broke Heidi Gardner was the fact that Butthead was staring right at her with that look on his face.
Also between dress rehearsal and the live show they had enhanced his makeup look, so this was her first seeing the improved look.
Obscure factoid: There was a short lived show on MTV called "Liquid TV" that was a mashup of cartoon shorts. It was one of the earliest showings of beavis & butthead with a skit called "frog baseball" (Season 2), as well as Aeon Flux, which was eventually turned into a live action movie.
They did a few dry rehearsals. She knew what they looked like and still could not handle it. There are videos of the dry rehearsals.
Where are the videos? They're not on the SNL channel that I can see. EDIT: Oh it's on Instagram on the NBCSNL account if anyone wants.
@@AthanImmortal ua-cam.com/video/CYARuq7yIoc/v-deo.html
yep she laughed in the rehearsals also. Butthead didn't have the mouth piece in during the rehearsals but was still funny looking and made her laughs, so he looked even worse during the live scene.
Heidi Gardener didn't see the final makeup until airing. The dress rehearsal used their makeup was different
Mickey Day played Butthead
😂😂😂 they got her good! Thanks for this info!
That's not true at all. You can literally watch the dress rehearsal video. It's really annoying when people just repeat something they read on UA-cam without looking anything up.
@@chadwickvon8019 Wrong, according to Heidi Gardener and Mickey day, when they did the dress rehearsal around 10:00 pm on Saturday night, they didn't use the same makeup and prosthetics as when they aired it later that night
Butthead's makeup, in particular, was applied right before they shot the scene which is why Gardener broke character so much when she saw his makeup
@@chadwickvon8019 I didn't "repeat what i saw on youtube", I listened to an interview with Heidi Gardener and Mickey Day
Mikey
Gosling just finished a movie with Emily Blunt and at the premier when everyone else was dressed up Ryan and Mikey showed up in their beavis and butthead get up. funny as hell . Emily didnt know they were going to do that and was laughing hysterically. It is on utube
The guys with the beer could be King of the Hill?
It is. Mike Judge created both shows.
BnB were on MTV, between music videos, and would often 'critique' music videos in their segments. I was probably the oldest person who was a total fan, a doctor in my mid-30's in the 90's, but my inner voice was always those 2 :D So many quotable quotes and it kept me sane in the face of stress and frustration. The coffee mug on my desk had Beavis on one side and Butthead on the other. There was often a much more intelligent and adult layer to the humor beneath the obvious crude teen-oriented stuff (though that was usually crazy funny too). Ren and Stimpy was also a favorite cartoon!
Ren & Stimpy is hands down my favorite cartoon of all time, and while funny for kids, definitely not intended for them.
The boys from Texas are the characters from King of the Hill.
I'm glad I saw this before because I couldn't see anything here. 3:59
😂 👍
Beavis and Butthead is what let me keep my sanity through college. The greatest stress-reliever.
Unfortunately I don’t think UA-cam has complete episodes (they edit out the music video reactions interspersed on the episodes for copyright reasons any reactor is familiar with), but if you watch them, I’ll watch them with you. I can promise you that.
Thing about King Of The Hill is the main character came from Beavis and Butthead or at least his voice did..lol
YES! Please react to Beavis & Butthead. 😂
I’ll check it out!
@@brittreacts Yeah definitely. Beavis and Butthead were the g.o.a.t.s lol. My most favorite show of all time, without a doubt. I even jokingly said one time that Beavis was my idol lol
You're talking to us as if we can see through the water screne.
I know. Annoying AF...
One of the funniest skits in the history of SNL!
That whole SNL show, starring Ryan Goseling was great!! Best SNL in a looooong time!!
"Itt's kidd-friendlj, jast not marent/parent-friendlj."
You should see the sketch "Doctors" for the same night with Ryan Gosling in it too. Everyone broke.
King of the hill. That’s the name of the others. And Beavis & Butthead we’re on MTV.
The cartoon parody at the end is from King of the Hill. It’s made by the same people that did Beavis and Butthead. Mike Judge.
I’d love Beavis and Butt-Head reactions. They were so dumb but also so funny.
They were an MTV cartoon, I think either the first or one of the first MTV shows
It's nice to see that Eric and Don Jr got work.
“Do I need to watch Beavis and Butthead with you?”
Questions my dream girl would ask.
Altering the video is one thing. Making it damn near invisible is another
Yep. Annoying AF...
So difficult to watch or even laugh at an invisible screen. I'm amazed that more people don't complain about it.
Come ON! We have all seen the video. Chill out.
@@stevenmonte7397 No. Believe it or not, most people don't watch SNL.
@mattbeilewech3517 then go watch it before lol
patience duh wait for it
It’s amazing that this actually was thought of. As a program that talks about new things, beavis and butthead isn’t known to anyone under 30 or 35?
I would definitely watch reactions of Beavis and Butthead. Even the two movies that they did.
The fact they named her Bobbi just for the payoff at the end with King of the Hill was golden. Bobby was Hank Hills son, and he was often saying "dang it Bobby".
She saw them 3 times B4 that and cracked up everytime
The last group was a cartoon called King of the Hill that was pretty funny.Beavis and Butthead were on MTV.Great video!
So glad you did this! It’s one of the funniest things I have seen in a long while! So good!
Did what? Can't see a damn thing!
@@sdv73168 I watched it so why are you complaining to me?
King of the Hill
KING OF THE HILL😂
Yes. Please watch Beavis and Butthead. I think that you will really like it and become hooked.
Most sketches on SNL are terrible some are good, and then there are some that are so epic and funny and it becomes the reason why you watch the show
Yes to watching Bevis and Butthead
Another really funny Snl sketch with Kenan is "The R. Kelly Interview"
Beavis and Butthead is hilarious, they did 8 seasons of the show and 2 feature length movies :
Beavis and Butthead Do America (1996)
Beavis and Butthead Do The Universe (2022)
I used to watch this with my brother I loved this
It was ‘King of the Hill’ and the other show was on MTV
If they used these guys in a live action movie...id definitely see that.
I was watching some news show from a couple weeks before this and an audience member straight up looked like Beavis. I'm like, "Kenan got the idea for this! From this! That dude looks like Beavis!"
A Great introduction to Beavis and Butthead would be the Nosebleed short.
Mike Judge the creator is the absolute best
This was too funny 😂😂❤❤
You would LOVE King of the Hill
Awake at 8 in the morning on Saturday. That’s crazy.
Wait, I thought that was my stomach in the beginning lol
Yes. We can watch Beavis and Butt head as long as you show the Ren & Stimpy cartoons. It's big. It's heavy. It's wood.
- The guys at the end were from the show "King of the Hill"
The best parts of Beavis and Butthead were always when they were watching music videos. My brothers and I would watch as kids, and laugh our butts off at that show.
Beavis and Butthead was literally the first reaction show. They’d watch music vids and put in their two cents. Let’s do it!
Yes, YEs, 1000 times, girl YES!!! Start watching some of the classic B and B videos. Did I say yes?
King of the hill
Blurry? Nothing got clearer 😅 It's the exact same thing!
An iconic Beavis and Butthead moment - they were working at a fast food place and the manager asked them to change the oil in the fryer - so they went to the Jiffy Lube
The 2nd charters were from King of the hill.
Loved your reaction. I'm a huge fan of Kenan Thompson, I always watch his SNL clips on UA-cam. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed
Beavis and Butthead was originally on MTV and they would react to music videos in between cartoon shorts. I loved some of their music reactions 😂
Heidi Gardner said that they had done the dress rehearsal at 8:00, and neither of them were in full makeup. So seeing them now broke her.
The classic SNL skit where the whole cast loses it is Debbie Downer at Disney World.
Time, when MTV and CN had some GREAT cartoon shows
You DEFINITELY need to react to Beavis and Butthead, but you also need to react to the Erin Brokovich skit from this same episode of SNL. Ryan Gosling is in it too, and it’s honestly one of the funniest skits I’ve seen on SNL in years.
We used to laugh AT Beavis and Butthead. We didn't want to be them. And yes, you should react to them. They're too funny.
Beavis and Butthead came on MTV when I was in like middle school. The dude that created it later went on to create King of the Hill on FOX. Those were the characters from that show at the end of the skit.
You need to check out the Beavis and Butthead clip where they cut out chunks of hair and glue it to their faces so they can have beards. They go to the mall trying to pick up girls but they both just look like they have the mange. One of Mike Judge's most inspired moments. 🤣🤣
They’re never gonna score…
I don't think Butthead was in full makeup during dress rehearsal, so when Heidi looked around she saw the full makeup effect for the first time .
You DEFINITELY need to watch Beavis and Butthead!
I can't believe how adorable you are
They have a dress rehearsal so she did know what they were going to look like.... but apparently they didn't have the full prosthetics on during the dress rehearsal. So she was not given the complete look, especially for the Butthead character which is why she lost it with him. Also, if you rewatch the video - when she turns around to look at Butthead, he bulges his eyes out at her and that caught her off guard too. She discussed this during one of the interviews she did after this episode aired... and also how she was convinced she was going to get fired for breaking character.
"When the actors can't keep a straight face, that's when you know it's a good skit."
Yes, unless that actor is Jimmy Fallon. :)
Yes!!!!! Watch beavis and butt-head
YES!! The new episodes are really good too!
Britt, you always have the best reactions, and this one was my favorite, I believe. Beavis always got super-hyper whenever he ate sugar or caffeine,, and became Cornholio. The four guys at the end were characters from King of the Hill. Beavis and Butt-Head was a cartoon on MTV, not the Cartoon Network, and I think King of the Hill's on Fox. You should definitely watch the show, or at least see "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America". If you want to see actors break character and lose it, try to find some old clips of the Carol Burnett Show. Try to find "The Dentist" and "The Elephant Story" sketches. Those skits are famous for making the actors lose it...especially Harvey Korman over Tim Conway.
5:25 watch B&B! It’s not kid friendly but it’s definitely something kids thought was hilarious
The most famous skit for breaking up is probably "Debbie Downer at Disney World" with Lindsay Lohan.
NewsNation is a new network on what we grew up calling WGN (the Chicago superstation). It's aiming to be "straight down the middle" news, but is also covering some stories in a, ummm, "different" way.
"Do we need to watch Beavis and Butthead?". I don't know that we NEED to, but I would probably watch. I also wouldn't say it's "kid friendly", but I would say that all the kids of the day WERE watching, soooooo.......
King of the hill cartoon, I always thought that Boomhauer (from the King of the hill cartoon) looked just like a grown-up version of Beavis.
King of the Hill was on Fox. Beavis and Butthead were on the real MTV.
The last capture in the skit is the cast from the animated series King of the Hill.
Sure wish I could see it
Yes, watch Beavis and Butthead, its awesome:)
she saying she was pretty and hooking up at parties was classic.
He comes and sits there next 😊
The person asking the questions, Heidi Gardner, knew about the skit but didn't know they were going that hard on the costumes. Which is why you see her break character so much. The skit was 100% for her. Forgot where I seen them talk about that portion, but you can tell.
The fun thing is that Heidi usually NEVER breaks. So this is history.
You gotta love it when just about everyone involved loses it. Kudos to Kenan Thompson.
Other good SNL skits are the Justin Timberlake ones as a street sign guy. Homelessville , liqourville etc
I was wondering when you were going to cover this! -But I'm happy for it anyway!
Beavis and Butthead was Mtv. Now on Paramount Plus.
Butthead is Mikey Day. He's been SNL for several years. They used an appliance in his mouth to keep his lip up. Obviously, that was Gosling as Beavis.
The woman is Heidi Gardner. Also been on SNL for years. She didn't see the full makeup during rehearsals, and thats shy she lost it.
Cartoon at the end was King of the Hill. Same creator.
The extra audience members are almost always good at not laughing. They get chosen for the job for their abilities to not laugh at a scene, and not interfere with the scene.
Beavis amd Butthead is DEFINITELY not kid friendly, and that's why kids loved it. It's pretty dumb for adult standards, but I grew up loving it.
Let me know if there is other questions that weren't answered in the comments.
Yes! Watch it please lol
