Egoraptor spices things up in his final performance with Maxine Hupy on Dance Showdown Season 3! Anyone who watches Game Grumps will know that Arin is extremely comfortable with his femininity. 80% of the time, he'll wear "girlish" shirts, and when playing video games, he almost always chooses a female character. I think he's awesome for that, he's putting out a message that men shouldn't be afraid to like girl things, it doesn't make you less of a man.
So when Kassem G said that stuff to Arin, I found it really annoying, and Arin probably did, too, but didn't want to call him out on it.
Come on, "That was dancing. There was a little bit of dancing there." "I like how you toned down the femininity." What the hell? There's seriously no need to be such an asshole. Everything that he said was sarcastic and it pissed me off. Kudos to Arin for staying calm.

I was thinking about it while watching all of Arin's dance videos.

A lot of great dancers have feminin moves. Michael Jackson, Fred Astaire. Every latin dancer just because they use their hips.
Arin is obviously super comfortable with his identity; dude has no issues with his masculine and feminine sides and clearly embraces both. Immature "no homo" dudebros like KassemG could stand to learn a great deal from guys like Arin.
Yeah, that's the thing about Arin that makes him so pleasant; he's comfortable with himself. That's very important for getting people to be friendly with you. I on the other hand, are the exact opposite, so it makes sense I'm kind of high and dry now.

Why is no one talking about how sexist Kassem was being? Not just towards Maxine (mostly after their second performance), but also towards Arin? Am I the only person who noticed this? He was being openly sexist and homophobic by telling him that he couldn't do certain dance moves just because he was a man. Why are people okay with this discriminatory behaviour?
When he was talking about arins performance he throws a big red flag out after talking about Arin putting his hands on his hips saying "normally, those are like, dude, don't let anyone see you doing that but I wasn't that bothered by it."

Kassem G honestly needs to stop with the whole "men shouldnt do feminine things" bullshit. I know the show is over and Arin won but honestly, you can kind of see that Arin is like ":/ yeah" about it. I mean Arin loves women, he almost always plays women in games, he loves things like sailor moon. And theres nothing wrong with it. Hes still an amazing guy who inspires tons of people.

Pretty sure one of the reasons he won was not only because his fans were more supportive but he always progressed the most and you can see that from his first performance. Lindsey, while she is a great dancer, stayed rather stagnant in the quality of her performances and didn't really improve or decline. You can see Arin's improvement plain as day and I think that was the point of the show? To take unlikely UA-camrs like him and throw them into this environment. Or something. Either way this dance routine was a delight.
Also side note about people saying all the crap about him and Maxine, do people forget that Arin is actually a mature and happily married adult? Sure, Maxine is attractive and I imagine having to so physical with a dance partner may have been awkward at first but he's also been with Suzy for years and they adore each other. I think he knows the basics of professionalism. Why do people assume he lacks self control, common decentsy and respect to his wife?
Actually, what's more likely is that he's simply bigger on youtube with a bigger following. Since the fans voices are half the determination of the winner, whoever has more fans is more likely to win. Most people aren't going to watch everyone in the competition. They'll likely just watch their favorites' videos, then just go vote for them, & Egoraptor has a lot more fans than Lindsey.

Of course Lindsey's performance was better, but as I said at the beginning of the season, she was already a dancer to start with... So in all fairness Arin was the surprise... I came for loyalty to his humor, but I stayed for pride, because it sure provided a good show. So let's vote the heck out of the purple button for Arin "Chinigan" Hanson!

she's a musician and she took dance clases before (she said that on a video), so I don't think would be fair to compare just the dancing. Egoraptor should win this (:
Sergio Ramos Lindsey never claimed to have taken dance lessons (she said she strictly learned her moves from YT videos). She did take one 'dance lesson' (which was really a collab / brainstorming session with a choreographer) to film her music video, "Electric Daisy Violin," but everything she's done so far with Anze is also very new for her. I personally believe that DanceOn shouldn't have pitted the two of them together. Ego is clearly inexperienced, much more so than most of the other contenders (even Steve), and it shows, no matter how slightly he may improve. Lindsey should shine because of her talent, not stick out like a sore thumb because she's apparently living up to the premise of DanceOn's contest - to become the best dancer of this season's cast. But good luck to all the contenders - may be the best, most passionate, and genuinely eager dancer wins :)
WaywardPash Dude, I wish you could split the cash prize between the two. If it is dancing, Lindsey aces it, if it is growth, Egoraptor aces it.
She's a musician, that means she has a lot more sense of rythm than, for example, egoraptor, and you can see her dancing on some of her videos. I do recognize that Anze's choreographys are the best, he's really good.
Mathemagics That's DanceOn's call, ultimately. I personally don't think Egoraptor improved all that much, at least compared to Macbby11, for example. Anyhow, I was just trying to correct people's assumptions that Lindsey has taken dance lessons before and that not having dance experience gives someone an edge in a dance competition. But that's just my opinion - I'm pretty sure Ego might receive some consolation prize even if he wins fan vote, but if he does win everything, then kudos to him :)

That Kassem G guy literally has NO idea what the hell he's talking about. Being a "UA-cam Sensation" doesn't mean you know anything about dancing; he's been the most extra judge I've ever seen. His criticisms are so weak.
"I really like how you toned down the femininity" Y'know, considering the internal struggle Arin has explained that he had to go through as a young/growing teen to get to the point where he was comfortable embracing his feminine side, that was a really douchey thing to say. I know there are already a ton of comments about this and the video is years old at this point, but that was just so off-putting... Embarrassingly clear he knew nothing about Arin and didn't even bother to research anything about him before the show. Also, maybe the lack of sensuality towards Maxine has something to do with the fact that he's married to the love of his life and feels uncomfortable touching other women like that, which seems normal..?

I know this is over. I know Arin won. But the way that asshole was talking about him made me angry. Arin is such a fun, nice, funny guy. He is manly and he is feminine and his fans love him for who he is. He doesn't spend time making others feel bad about themselves and shows the world men can have a bit of femininity in some things and still stay men. He is married to a beautiful, nice woman. He has a bunch of friends that share his sense of humor and love him the way he is (a bit clumsy on a dance floor, a bit self conscious, a bit crazy) and so do his fans. Until this I had never even thought of Arin being ''feminine'' in any way. And how is that even a bad thing? Should men think of sports and cars only? Lindsey probably had the best dance, but I feel like Arin had the most growth as a dancer, so he's getting my vote. Everyone put in so much effort and had so much fun with it, but Lindsey basically dances already in her videos (even if it's just self-taught and not officially "dancing"). Arin had to really leave his comfort zone, and he's just the best Cinderella story for this competition right now.
