@@maxchrome_Not much. It's an old game, even thought it's one of the best Battlefield games if not THE best, it's old and barely any people play it at the same time, so they don't really have a lot of servers dedicated to it, so they aren't really spending too much money. I'm not a network specialist but I bet they could have single modern server that can host ALL of their old games at the same time. All of the BC2 and older games. Because first: the number of players are low, even if you combine the playerbase of all of these games. Second: these are old games and they don't use as much badwidth as new games. Third: it's been more than a decade since BC2 and internet is WAY faster and more optimized. Same with the servers. They can hold more load, more efficiently than before. Only problem I can see is exactly because they are old games, they might actually run worse on new servers and network because they are not optimize for them and they probably need a whole project to change the servers, so they prefer to just shut them down. OR maybe they are planning for new remasters / remakes

EA pulls stuff like this while Activision fixes old Call of Duty servers. Every main game in the Call of Duty series is still playable in 2023. Anyway the nostalgia for this game is really strong for me, I remember playing the first Bad Company and I loved that game but this game felt like such a big upgrade, I still even remember playing the beta for Bad Company 1 on PS3 back in 2008. Call of Duty and Halo was my favorite games before playing Battlefield. To this day I still consider Battlefield my favorite franchise ever even though we haven't had a good game since Battlefield 1, I still think BF3 is the best in the series but Bad Company 2 was special, we've never seen that level of destruction in the series again.
BF3 gang foso, but BF4 has lots of good. BF1 was beautiful and fun, but was the beginning of downward trend. My Live lapses in the new year, I'm not gonna renew it as BF was also my favourite franchise and I don't play it anymore. It's sad. I used to play BF2/BF3/4/1 every night. Mad love. I'll play BF1 They Shall Not Pass a couple of nights before then, but the Age of Battlefield has officially ended for me, at least until DICE becomes DICE again, but after everything that's happened these last ten years, from video games to entertainment in general, it's almost like there's no hope for things like this.
@@drlca6601 I loved Battlefield 4 but it also just kinda felt like BF3 but with worse map design in my opinion. BF1 was good too, it had the best "atmosphere" in the entire series, the setting and just how everything looked and sounded was amazing but at the same time it also felt more "arcadey" and simpler than previous Battlefield games. I genuinely think gaming is worse than it used to be, especially AAA games are worse with a few exceptions. I think gaming was the best during the Xbox 360/PS3 generation 2005-2013. Sure the graphics and tech is better now but so much else is just worse. Games are more broken and unfinished on release than they've ever been, every multiplayer game has a live service model even if the game isn't free, it feels like there's a bigger focus on selling skins than making a good game.... and many of the skins ruin the aesthetic of the game. Then there's wokeness too.
Funny the algorithm would pop this for me, bfbc2 was the only multiplayer fps i ever really liked. I hadn't played it for 10 years... Good memories. Thanks for sharing
The audio on this game is still unmatched. Been 13 years and 2 newer consoles later and no other battlefield or FPS has been able to match it completely, there’s some good ones out there but for this being as old as it was it was GREAT🙏 RIP BFBC2 the memories will live on❤️
I'll never forget all those hours playing defend on Rush, hiding somewhere the moment we lost our base, wait for the enemy team to get comfy and then start killing them silently from behind them.
The game that I started my journey with I will always remember it, always. It's sad that the multiplayer is a memory now. I can see myself playing the story and be lost in thoughts about multiplayer and how amazing it was to experience it. o7
i was a small kid playing this for HOURS when it came out, i loved the vietnam dlc so much too. its incredibly depressing to see such a big part of my childhood disappear
One of my favourite gaming memories was holding an objective for a game with 3 of my close friends.. probably around 2015, in the moment we felt invincible and completely in tune.. we've all drifted apart now and it's sad to see the servers close too.
This game is the reason I became a BF fanboy, is incredible to think this game is 15 years old and is way more advanced in many aspects than most modern "AAA" fps games including recent BF games .
Playing the BETA for the game is what got me into the franchise. It’s sad to see the servers shutting down I had such a blast on this game! Sound design was out of this world !
this was the first real big multiplayer game i was really into, and it was because of my dad. hes not dead or anything but hes pretty awesome for getting me into that shit if you ask me. Thanks dad
My dad introduced me to first person shooters too. Medal of Honor Allied Assault was my first FPS. I would love to see a remake of the old MOH games in a bundle like the Halo Master Chief Collection. EA has a gold mine of classic shooters and they don’t do anything with them!
I was partial to the M95 because of how punchy it was, but every bolt action was a joy to play with. BFBC2 had sniping perfected for a game of its type. No scope sway, no scope glint, reasonable bullet drop, and vapor trails on every shot, made sniping so enjoyable. I would snipe on the ridge line after the second rush base on Arica Harbor for those satisfying long range kills. One of the most things I did in this game.
i would never think i will see BC being shut down, i didn't even know there was a announcement of this. this was one of those games that make me wanted to have a old gen console
Such a beautiful experience of my online life truly that was the Golden Age granted they were problems but they were never like today I met so many friends unfortunately many are gone remember folks even if you play fortnite or Call of Duty or some indie game that no one heard of remember those memories because server shut down people grow up life gets in the way so remember every moment and cherish it because it'll be gone in a Flash trust me I know this
That Bradly's shot's echoing in the back ground made me come so much. 👌👌👌👌 See this is why I love this game. They always keep it 94+6 realistic with us. ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
i couldnt bring myself to log on and inevitably see that server error message. also it wouldnt be the same after all this time without the boys. Bad Company 2 was a great game and it brought countless memories and good times. one of EA and DICE's best additions to the FPS world. It'll be missed for sure.
God. The hours I put into this and Hardline (yep, Hardline) with the crew were probably the peak of my life as a gamer. Mashing every button on my keyboard to pay respects.
Just revisited this game a shit ton about 9 months ago, thought to myself “I’ll get back on in a bit, lemme take a few days off.” Rest in peace, BC2. Really really great game from my middle school/high school years.
This is the first FPS my dad actually sat down and played with me. He loved it, and seeing him so engaged in a game, makes me happy till this day. Thank you BFBC2
I'll miss this game and using the M1 Garand with the assault class. C4 for vehicles and an ammo box for refills of it all! I have the collective memory of playing multiplayer, as do many of us. Particularly liked conquest on Laguna Alta, Panama Canal, & Harvest Day. Yea not every round was great and not every teammate was competent, but it was still the best Battlefield game; with BF4 being second best and next on the chopping block here in a few years unfortunately.
I converted over to Battlefield BC2 from COD back in the day and never looked back. Really hope they either remaster the Bad Company series or do BC3 in the future. Superior game in every way compared to COD imo. Bad Company will seriously be missed by many people.
Its good that atleast on PC some game preservation is possible. Because while I understand no multiplayer lives forever it just feels like waste that all the work that was put into these games as far as MP is concerned goes to waste. I mean heck think of The Crew that gets shut down in 3 months. The whole game is only playable online so once servers are down the whole game is gone for good but I have heard PC community is trying to save that game too. As for my part I played heck ton of original Bad Company and BF 1943 back in day and spent some time with Bad Company 2 last year...and now im playing Crew as much as possible before it goes dark. Even if these games are not that populated anymore its sad thing when some part of gaming history becomes unavailable for good, so I do hope as much as possible gets preserved on PC through effort of fans
I've been living in a rock after being too focused with the "adult life". But this game holds a very special place. It really served as a better answer to the COD mania and brought something more cattered to me after being fed up (with COD) right away from it. Didn't know this was gonna happen, and it's a shame it did, because I feel is the most "Battlefield" experience you could have as it distinguishes by far from the modern ones (which includes BF3). I loved the slow, tactical pace which emphasized teamwork communication and team play better which also led to satisfying rewarding results when done; the campaign also has a lot of personality and charm. Imma miss this 😢
Good times must come to an end. I used to play this game before school when I was 11-13 years old. Me and my brother would share the Xbox to do so. It was, for me, the first experience with a dynamic shooter, because before this one, the first time I played a FPS was on COD4 MW1, which didn't have destruction or vehicles. The campaign and multiplayer of BFBC2 were one of the best ever created by DICE. This game will be missed.
My Uncle Mike came over for Christmas one year, got us a Xbox 360 with the Kinect, Lost Planet, and Bad Company 2. He was a massive Battlefield fan and would often brag about his stats to my dad (who was an old school gamer that didnt care mucn for it anymore lol). I sadly didnt play online games during that time, but would play the campaign almost nonstop. The characters, gunplay, destruction capabilities, vehicles, etc. was amazing for someone just getting off the PS2 era. I fell in love with the game and beat it several times over. It got me into BF3, BF4, and BF1, and while I love those games dearly they all had something missing that BC2 had. I got into the multiplayer very late but it was still an enjoyable experience even with the lower player counts I encountered often. With my uncle passing away earlier this year, this game ending as well hurts. May he rest in peace, and may this game live on with us.

Pretty sure everyone warns against playing the old CoD games online because they all have exploits let let people infect your PC...
One of my favourite games ever, this is so sad
Overtkill187.....played my heart out
This was peak BF multiplayer. I miss the sounds of this game so much.
The memories I have playing this game with my friends back in the day will never be forgotten
Funny the algorithm would pop this for me, bfbc2 was the only multiplayer fps i ever really liked. I hadn't played it for 10 years... Good memories. Thanks for sharing
The audio on this game is still unmatched. Been 13 years and 2 newer consoles later and no other battlefield or FPS has been able to match it completely, there’s some good ones out there but for this being as old as it was it was GREAT🙏 RIP BFBC2 the memories will live on❤️
Hell Let Loose. Can't recommend enough. Audio on that is insane
"Both objectives are secure, We're Oscar Mike to the next Base."
- Wolf-2, 2023.
I'll never forget all those hours playing defend on Rush, hiding somewhere the moment we lost our base, wait for the enemy team to get comfy and then start killing them silently from behind them.
Wow had no idea this game died, Countless hours of amazing sniping and shooting.
RIP Truly to a legendary Battle Field.
The game that I started my journey with
I will always remember it, always.
It's sad that the multiplayer is a memory now. I can see myself playing the story and be lost in thoughts about multiplayer and how amazing it was to experience it.
o7
All my childhood wrapped in a couple gigabytes damn
i was a small kid playing this for HOURS when it came out, i loved the vietnam dlc so much too. its incredibly depressing to see such a big part of my childhood disappear
Smile because it happened ❤
I’m seeing everything from my childhood slowly fade away, i’m just glad that I got to experience it.
I never had this much fun in multiplayer than on BFBC2 with my best friends. That’s a big lost, so many crazy memories. I think I’ll go on PC
Fuck man. Take me back to the 360 days. The amount of time i spent playing the beta when it came out
This hurts my soul bro…
Why do I keep rewatching this. Sorrow.
My favorite multiplayer game of all time. I’ll never forget it. Why DICE turned their back on what made Battlefield, I’ll never understand.
One of my favourite gaming memories was holding an objective for a game with 3 of my close friends.. probably around 2015, in the moment we felt invincible and completely in tune.. we've all drifted apart now and it's sad to see the servers close too.
can’t imagine one day Battlefield 3 will be gone and then Battlefield 4
BF3 is only one year older than BFBC2 so it could be soon for BF3 to sunset.
That is just sad, i remembered back then was just a young boy enjoying this game on evenings, thank you bfbc2
angelgirl49,
Sad to know Ill never visit those maps again with such great comrades.
I'm glad you got to preserve this.
Me too! Thanks for watching and playing.
Theres a petition still available to save Bad Company 2 online features.
Link?
@@treborisCommunist youtube wont allow me look it up on google first one.
Petitions never work, especially with EA
@@Leon--Kennedy The tough truth, but theres still hope maybe into saving it in the Battlefield Community, if not then it is what it is.
Let's just hope the modders and hackers will do their job. There are servers for several titles that aren't being provided for anymore.
"i just want to go upstairs that lighthouse to sniper, for one more time "😢
Exactly my thoughts! I didn’t go up there much and figured now is the time to do it.
this was the first real big multiplayer game i was really into, and it was because of my dad.
hes not dead or anything but hes pretty awesome for getting me into that shit if you ask me. Thanks dad
My dad introduced me to first person shooters too. Medal of Honor Allied Assault was my first FPS. I would love to see a remake of the old MOH games in a bundle like the Halo Master Chief Collection. EA has a gold mine of classic shooters and they don’t do anything with them!
@@scottydont2549 Namely their James Bond titles as well. It'd be awesome to have those in a collection.

RIP legend
This video is of great historical value
This breaks my heart a little. My friends and I played countless hours of BC2. My all time favorite Battlefield
Oof, that chunky M1911 sound. That gave me flashbacks. Rest easy, BC2!
Best sidearm in the series. It was mean!
Gentlemen, its been a privilege playing with you tonight.
No gun will ever be as fun and as satisfying as bfbc2's M24. I remember playing this work of art in its hay day. It will be missed.
I was more of a GOL + magnum ammo guy personally
I played this shit when I was a kid. That’s fucking crazy that it was still up and running. I will miss it.
This was the game that made me build my first computer so I could enjoy this in its full glory.
Same here :)
I feel like the in-game notification "BASE TAKEN, MOVE UP" carries a message. Like it tells you to move on or something.
i would never think i will see BC being shut down, i didn't even know there was a announcement of this.
this was one of those games that make me wanted to have a old gen console
It was an honour serving with you
This video can make any grown man cry. RIP to a legendary game
The sound design of this game is something I'll always remember.
when fps gave real leaderboards a destructible environment and no shop
Thanks for uploading this.
My pleasure! Thank you for watching.
See this is why I love this game. They always keep it 94+6 realistic with us. ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Over and out, too everyone I ever played with and against, this is Mr JUVENTUSDUTCH, love you all, Oscar Mike…🍻🍺🤘👍
i couldnt bring myself to log on and inevitably see that server error message. also it wouldnt be the same after all this time without the boys.
Just revisited this game a shit ton about 9 months ago, thought to myself “I’ll get back on in a bit, lemme take a few days off.”
Rest in peace, BC2. Really really great game from my middle school/high school years.
I hate when games cant even be bothered to put a "thank you for playing" message when you try to connect
This is the first FPS my dad actually sat down and played with me. He loved it, and seeing him so engaged in a game, makes me happy till this day. Thank you BFBC2
The TTK was perfect in this one, it's from era when games were fun first and sweaty competitive second
There were no streamrrs/tubers sweating it out for views.
BC2 have "Project Rome" on PC for playing on servers with mods, have fun.
Man this Was my game 2010 ! I wish they kept it like this.remember me playing with my bros and friends, tearing it up! lol good times
I converted over to Battlefield BC2 from COD back in the day and never looked back. Really hope they either remaster the Bad Company series or do BC3 in the future. Superior game in every way compared to COD imo. Bad Company will seriously be missed by many people.
Tbh they are 2 different types of games but yeah most CoD games suck ass
RIP Bad Company games on Console, the game is still alive and well on PC through Project Rome
Ehh man, you’ve witnessed the end of the greatest decade of the Battlefield history… Thank you all of BFBC2 players for the fun we had together! F
Didn't know they closed the servers, i am gonna miss the ambient and sounds of this awesome game, thanks for capturing the shutting down
It's been a fun ride! I'm gonna miss the multiplayer on this game.
Imma miss this 😢
The "adult life" honestly sucks man. It seems like all pretence.
RIP, the best BF game of all time.
Remember when you could destroy buildings in battlefield?
Looks like the radio guy finish their objectives, the only we hear his last words
Rip BFBC2
Rest in Peace to your Uncle Mike. Thank you for sharing your memories of him and BFBC2.
Rip to your uncle. I hope you are doing better. I miss the ole days too, playing bbc2 nonstop
