Personally I think it is a total waste to leave the industry just when you are getting that push because opportunities are so far and few between even if you gave the talent. Though I understand people just wanting to make a living in music and not going for all the fame BS so whatever works. I assumed they were fame whores and a corporate production that got manufactured and that explained the one big hit then nothing but seems they are totally different. There are songs that capture that time in youth of pure exhilarating passion for life. Steal my sunshine is one for me. Korn - follow the leader, too. That was a period where I was young, on lots of drugs and making hand over fist in cash. I grew up in poverty and then everything changed and i had endless drugs and parties and money. Life was great for about four years then my addiction had to be dealt with lol but Len was right in that time, perfectly expressing how I felt, waking up in the morning to it on TV and feeling like life was perfect. You can never get that youth back where everything was for the first time
