I was born in 1992 and was only 7 when Deforest passed away. However my Dad took me to this convention when I was only 3 (he’s a big Trekkie like myself) and was able to get a picture with Deforest holding me. My dad told me he was very sweet with me and very patient when I fidgeted a bit. Years later when I properly started getting into Star Trek I went to other conventions as a teenager and met William and Leonard and got pictures with them as well. I would always show them this picture of myself and Deforest and they would always smile at their old friend. I cherish all the pictures and memories I have with these three men and I will always be grateful I was able to meet them, even if I was quite young. RIP Deforest Kelly RIP Leonard Nimoy You’ve all changed my life for the better which sounds silly but it’s true.
That's lovely and terrible not being able to remember it. Also interesting to see how thin he looks from the modern point of view. Everyone was thinner then, of course (statistically speaking).
Calling all De Kelley fangirls! We all need to build a time machine, go back in time, and give him a hug because he is just that awesome!!! (Is it just me, or does he seem surprised that so many people are cheering for him? He keeps saying WOW. Yes, you are loved, De!!)
Judging by the angle from which this was filmed, I was not too far to the left of the surreptitious cameraperson. If I'm not mistaken, I hear myself in the recording. Wow. I am so glad someone was filming this and it made its way here. It was an awesome weekend.
This is so cool to see, man I miss these guys. So happy I got to grow up on Star Trek re-runs in the 70s and 80s. About the only thing I hate about life is getting older to have to see some of my favorite from when I was a kid all pass away. I know that's life but it still sucks.
I remember a story that Leonard said about Bill and De. During filming of one of the films De always had a bagel toasted before shooting so then he could eat it afterwards but several times Bill came over to the craft services and saw the bagel and ate it. De didn't know who ate the bagels until they spotted the crumbs on Bill's uniform.
I can't thank you enough for posting this. De is my hero and I love seeing him that happy. I just wish I could have seen that in person. I watch this whenever I need a good laugh....or cry....
What an honor to see three legends together!!! I had the honor of seeing William Shatner by himself in 1993. I was thrilled when he picked me to ask a question calling on me by saying..."Please...the lady in red."
It's so cool to see this 25 years later! I was there and still remember this whole exchange. I think I appreciate seeing the three on stage together more now than I even did then. I've never been to another Star Trek convention since this since how can you top that show?
As a child in the 60's, De got me through many a boring time by just turning on Star Trek. I miss him so much, but now after finally seeing the new movie I think I just became a big-time Spock Prime fan. Never did get the Kirk hoopla, though.
I'm on the same page as you - McCoy was always my favorite, Spock a close second. I can't believe that was Karl Urban portraying McCoy in the film. I've seen it a few times and LOTR many more times, but I did not recognize him. Great Scott!
Deforest Kelley: So, I'd better say what i need to say out here, 'cause it'll never happen when those two guys get out here. Me: NO! DE, YOU ARE JUST AS AWESOME AS SHATNER OR NIMOY!!!!! DON'T BE LIKE THAT...*sob* ...God, i miss that man so much... My Mom: ...Uh...O____O Me: heh, heh...sorry, just a little emotional breakdown there. :'( De Kelley, we all miss you so much!
If I ever go swimming in the Pacific Ocean I'd probably have an emotional breakdown and start yelling "Jackson DeForest Kelley!!!!11!" at the top of my lungs.
Just three kids goofing around. Favourite line was when Shatner brings up albums and Nimoy says let's forget about it. Agreed. Glad that De, ever the gentleman, got the last word.
I just realized that Shatner lost his Kirk persona far more than Nimoy lost his Spock persona, and more than Kelly lost his bones persona. He got so short and dumpy!
In Star Trek: Kirk giggles at Spock and Bones bickering. In real life: De likes making Shatner and Nimoy catfighting. my conclusion: Leonard Nimoy just liked arguing with people X) Like Spock, actually.

I'm coming too!☮️♥️😃
Three's never a crowd, not when it's this golden trio.
Oh, god, De, you are so sorely missed. We love you, so, so much.
Dee Kelley, a true southern gentleman. RIP.
Aww, De! God, I wish I would've been able to meet him. He seems like such a sweet, gentle guy. He's amazing. And so are Nimoy and Shatner, of course!
The three greatest actors that ever walked the earth. Rest in peace deforrest kelley
The cool thing about being a Star Trek actor is receiving all that unconditional love when you appear at Conventions.
Judging by the angle from which this was filmed, I was not too far to the left of the surreptitious cameraperson. If I'm not mistaken, I hear myself in the recording. Wow. I am so glad someone was filming this and it made its way here. It was an awesome weekend.
I was here too😁...I snuck in a little Walkman tape recorder and have the whole hour on cassette
DeForest looked so happy and in his glory here to greet the fans...
i loved them when i was five.. and fifty years later i still do..
thankyou for sharing this 🙂

What a nice man, great actor. Different experience seeing him as a sweet, old elderly man.
These three got me thru eighth grade and high school. I will love them forever. May G-d bless their souls and their generations.
Aww he was such a sweet man! He had one of the best smiles I've ever seen.
I saw the 3 of them speak at the first convention - 1972 in NYC. Kelley was so humble. Sweet man.
He was my favorite out of the three stars for star trek...

hahaha it sounds like stuff Bill would do
Know wonder he's so skinny.

Aw, damn I'm hopeless.
Whenever I watch an interview or anything else with DeForest, I start crying.
Gods, I miss that guy D:
These three gentlemen together is such a delight. Spock and Bones can argue until the end of time now. RIP.
Thank you for such a great vid. De Kelley was such a sweet heart of a man
Don't mind me, I'm just sobbing my heart out.
oh i know how you feel...jackson deforest kelley was one of the most beautiful men EVER it's so sad for him to be gone
De Kelley reminds me of my grandpa.
RIP De Kelley
RIP Richard B. Turner
Thank you so much for sharing this. It is fabulous. De Kelley is one of my favourite actors. An absolute treasure. X X

It was a great weekend. Everyone was so friendly.
im 17 and im just happy that i was on the planet when he was
Such lovely and wonderful men... I wish I had been born earlier!
X3 This video is worth a lot to me! Footage of ♥DeForest♥ and a beautiful and lulzy Shatner-Nimoy cat-fight. Definitely worth the film.
Thanks for the upload, this was wonderful.
Thanks so much!
This is so sweet and moving!
remember watching star trek with my dad, im 50 now and such fond memories
BEST POEM EVER, DE. ILU.

I think it's raining on my face. This was absolutely wonderful.

De Kelley, we all miss you so much!
I wish I could have met him...
You can tell he's taken aback by all the applause. Sweet.
This man is so dearly loved and he was so happy with whatever he had.
If I ever go swimming in the Pacific Ocean I'd probably have an emotional breakdown and start yelling "Jackson DeForest Kelley!!!!11!" at the top of my lungs.
thank you very much for this upload.
Leonard nimoy did record albums as a singer in the late 60's and early 70's
I remember hearing his Bilbo Baggins song on Doctor Demento in the 80s lol
miss him heaps!
they should have formed a comedy troupe
this is great stuff..brings back so many memories..
Poor DeForest all he wanted was a quiet life!
very cool thanks for sharing
Omg I could not have said that better! I totally agree!
There's something suitably ghostly about the man's appearance in this clip. We're truly watching this from beyond the grave.
Wow, what an epic convention. The REAL Spock, Bones, and Captain Kirk! Much better than the new crap. I wish I could have been there.
de f kelly what a great actor
Just three kids goofing around. Favourite line was when Shatner brings up albums and Nimoy says let's forget about it. Agreed. Glad that De, ever the gentleman, got the last word.
*O* this is beautiful
This is gold!
and so funny.
Isn't he just adorable? xD
AWWWW I LIVE DEE SO MUCH
Love**
Watching all star trek movies today
My thoughts exactly.
Jim, I'm a doctor, not an actor. lol Man he's funny
Nimoy Shatner Kelley
@recniterockerchick He said, "Finally I get the last word."
wow, the account that posted this is such an early youtube account. I hope where they are they are enjoying the new Trek series
Wow just found this.
"and he recorded albums...."
*SCREAM*
"As a singer???" :D
DeForest died of stomach cancer just 4 years later.
Hello from 2019!
@YesWeCantaloupe - I had gathered that much at least. I'm talking about what he said AFTER Nimoy and Shatner removed their hands.
I have this video and it was in colour.
"Much better than the new crap" - AMEN TO THAT! I thought I was along in hating the new film.
I just realized that Shatner lost his Kirk persona far more than Nimoy lost his Spock persona, and more than Kelly lost his bones persona. He got so short and dumpy!

Can anyone translate what DeForest says from here on? I can't quite make it out. P:
In Star Trek: Kirk giggles at Spock and Bones bickering.
In real life: De likes making Shatner and Nimoy catfighting.
my conclusion: Leonard Nimoy just liked arguing with people X) Like Spock, actually.
1995? The video recording looks more like 1895!
He's produced an album......as a singer???? lol
He...he sounds like my grandfather...That's weird.
DID DeForest say "me,nimoy and shatner, dont know of what are we after" ????
7:00
Haha, they're both fighting over De! (Not that I blame them.)
Nimoy's always got to one up Shatner, huh?
why is it in black and white
He's so skinny! :(
It's not very sad. He always was, even when he was young. He just had a small frame.
Great video if you want to watch something filled with a McDonald's french fry
