I just changed an O2 sensor on my 2012 Xterra. I've never done that kind of thing before. This video gave me so much confidence and answered a bunch of my questions. A mechanic was going to charge me $900 to do it. But I did it myself. It only took about 1.5 hours today. I bought a cheap version of the sensor. It only cost $55 on Amzon. I know it may not last long. But now I know how to change it, if it goes out. Thanks a million!! You saved me a ton of money.
Glad I could help 👍
I got some Lucas power steering stop leak..took care of the leak .got just over 400,000 thousand miles on my 09 btw..got an O2 sensor code so gonna get that done..thank you for the awesome vid..oh and I live in northern California so I'm not wearing my 49er's shirt when I work on it;)
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I have to replace mine soon. My MPG is 14MPg on the highway, and 8mpg in town.
That thing is super easy to work on. Im jealous!
Let's go Titans!
Great videos! Thanks for sharing. Did you ever end up addressing your power steering leak? If so, did you make a video?
Thanks again!
@@LostInStates It got replaced when I had to do the rack, struts and uppers. Sorry, no video. Dealership repair.
@PatrickMichael2002 Did you figure out what was leaking.. hose or reservoir or something else?
@@LostInStates It was the unit itself - leaking and dripping down the hose.
So the green sensor plug was the bank 2 sensor 1? Having codes p2a03 and p0420 on my ‘06 xterra are they both sensors I have to replace? Doing this on my own 😅
P0420 is a catalytic converter error
So my bank 2 sensor 1 is on driver side before the cat?
Would mine be the last sensor that you changed? Mine I ordered from O’Reillys it’s the sensor for b2s1, the cord is green though?
@@mirandacastro6174 Part numbers and locations are in the video. B1 are A/F sensors. B2 are O2 sensors. Green cable is noted around the 22:50 mark. That is B2 S2 O2 on driver's side. Sounds like you don't have the correct part.
@@mirandacastro6174 B1 S1 & S2 should be before the CAT. These are A/F sensors. B2 S1 & S2 are after the CAT. These are O2 sensors. Passenger side is S1. Driver side is S2. Both front are the same sensor. Rear are both different. One has black clip on passenger side. The other is green on driver side - as noted in the video. This will not fix PO420, though. That is bad CAT. Watch my other video on replacing that. Happy wrenching 👍😎👍
Hey Patick can you help me - You only showed 3 boxes but aren't there 4 sensors? I need to replace all four in my xterra but don't know which part numbers to get?
Two fronts are the same. The backs are both different. Part numbers are in the video.
@PatrickMichael2002 Thank you sir
Hey man what size socket did you use
@@phillip3910 02 sockets. Not sure the size.
@@phillip3910 02 socket
I couldn't find the A/F sensor locations in the Nissan service manual. I expected to find their locations in the EM section of the manual but there was no location info but it did show where the cats are. I wish I was rich so that I can have others do this.
There’s just 4 02 sensors 2 before and 2 after the cat
original shocks on 266K is literally a miracle. What state are you in?
@@UnpopularGameGuy Nevada Desert
what is that socket-type thing you used to pull the sensors?
O2 socket
Great video. Which code/codes were you getting before you replaced the sensors? I’m trying to track down an issue on mine with similar mileage. Thanks.
P0131
I had a P0130 on my 2007 Frontier that is the same platform as the Xterra and Pathfinder. I replaced bank 1 sensor 1 oxygen/AF under the right front wheel well (first replacement shown in this video), and the service engine soon light went out and stayed out. Something else I saw suggested removing the negative battery cable when doing this fix. I used a regular 22 mm socket to remove the sensor after cutting the wires. Disconnecting the connector was the hardest part of the repair.
What size sockets? Also what size fits that screw on the plate that you have to remove the downstream sensors?
10mm
I have 0137,0138 and 0430 code.
All 4 sensors are the same size?
Part numbers are in the video 👍
Did u fix it
Hi I am using Nissan X Terra 2012 model, can you help me to find Oxygen sensor Code for Left and right. I watched your Vedio is this same code for 2012 model? And how many total oxygen sensor have
I do not know. This is for 2nd Generation Xterra. They are different.
single might be different on them for computer.
I’ve seen people remove the sensor without pulling off the tires, just pull the arch liner out
what year nissan xterra?
2008
13.5 gallons per mile? I know gas prices are high, but I'm not burning THAT much gas!
