Is it possible to just replace the digitizer without replacing the entire screen? These full screen set are like $500 dollars alone..

Would be nice if you included links to reputable sources to buy a new screen. I’m afraid to buy one and be ripped off.

Hi, you say you bot 1st gen screen not knowing it was 2nd gen, showing how you did that would be very informative, especially since 2ndary mkt has increased since jail break, but either way you used a 1sr gen lcd for 2nd gen replacement, bravo my friend love to see it ;)

Was that plumbers flux? Recommend RF800 no clean SMD flux.

Um, is there a reason you didn't disconnect the battery before removing the screen? You can easily blow the filters for the back light on these models.... ALWAYS, ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE REMOVING ANY FLEX CABLES!

C J this was the very first one done btw. Way before they even had parts for it. Long story short it doesn’t always have that issue it depends on the installer. Watching the video that is clear as day. But if you look since I can’t add that over the video now I have had the description edited for years.

I have an ipad pro (gen 2) that has a good screen but for some reason won't hold a charge. I was thinking of buying a broken iPad Pro Gen 2 and taking my glass and putting it on the one I buy. How can I tell without opening the iPad which version I will get. The connector on the bottom or on the side?

Are you sure it’s not just a faulty battery?

Hi! I replaced my iPad Pro 11” M1 screen with a gen2 glass screen-Apple Pencil now works very oddly. Lots of dead spots as I draw lines or anything. Finger works fine.
    Pencil has that issue.
Gen 2 screen blocked the autobright sensor on the M1 Gen 3 version. Wasn’t a deal breaker for me. But the pencil not working properly is killing me atm.
    Any idea why that’s happening?
Sometimes the pencil will kick in and work perfectly, but just for a few minutes before going nuts again! !!

I have a question my iPad Pro 12.9 in. second generation has a completely busted screen is cracked and it appears like the digitizer is also messed up do I had to replace both and is it cost wise smart to replace on your own

To be honest this one a lot can go wrong with the repair. In the video I didn’t disconnect the battery and if your not careful you can burn out the touch just by connecting the screen. This is also the most expensive iPad screen even more then the newest one. It wouldn’t be wise to repair this by yourself. There are screens now that you don’t have to solder but they are even more money.

Thanks for posting a thorough video. Not many are up right now. I'm really scared to attempt this repair, so fingers crossed.

CPR Fredericksburg if you did gen 1 of this iPad it isn't any harder just a bit smaller pads then the gen 1.

Yousif Alhashimi I don't think it's possible to buy that part separate. I'm pretty sure you will need to source another one from a used iPad Pro 12.9 gen 2

Fun videos 6 because the cost is so high I would only change it once the screen cracks a lot more.

What is wrong with Apple ( great products) is they should come with screen protection for the amount of money they charge. Bullshit that folks have to deal with this!

Really crappy video "start to finish"!!?? none of the difficult glass and LCD removal is actually shown.

    • @iPhoneRestoration
      @iPhoneRestoration  7 місяців тому

Your funny if removing glass it difficult for you you should probably not even think about changing out this screen. Leave it up to professionals or you probably need a new iPad after the repair.
