DesertStateInEu Because the metric system is a decimal system of weights and measures it is easy to convert between units (e.g. from millimetres to metres, or grams to kilograms) simply by multiplying or dividing by 10, 100, 1000, etc. Often this is just a case of moving the decimal point to the right or left. 1 km = 1000 meters. 1 meter = 100 cm. 1 cm = 10 millimeters.

USA: Has a speed limit everywhere on the high way. You may overtake from the right. You may use the left lane all the time. Germany: Has no speed limit on the autobahn, unless a sign tells something else. You may not overtake from the right. You may only use the left or middle lane while overtaking other vehicles (from the left) which are to your right. You may also use it as long as someone else is in the same lane infront of you (Although the other person might be doing something he isnt allowed to do. You Vehicle needs to be able to go 61km/h or faster as physical maximum speed. You may not use the seitenstreifen unless its impossible to avoid obviously. You get sued if you lie down due to lack of fuel (This means incompetence gets actually sued, which is a good thing). Also in germany you are *FORCED* to have health insurance. Its impossible to not have it. When something happens ambulance usually arrives within 10 minutes. In 2018 exactly 424 People died in crashes on the Autobahn, 32913 got hurt, 5910 got hurt badly, 27003 People got minor injuries. Sadly I cant find statistics which tell me exact numbers about how many people died in crashes on the highway. But I did find a post which said that its the place with the second most people killed in accidents. It also said that 37500 people got killed in total. Since the highway is second place at killing people in accidents in the USA i will give the really dull assumption that 30% of those were on the highway, (I took this number ("30%") out of nowhere so it is probably be horribly wrong). What we can tell for sure is that the amount of people killed on the highway is defenetly way higher than 424. Sure the number of of citizens in the USA is about 3,8 times as lager as the number of citizens in germany so we need another value: Germany (85 Million citizens): 0,499 killed people ------------------------------ 100000 citizens ------------------------------ year USA (327 Million citizens): 3,44 killed people ------------------------------ 100000 citizens ------------------------------ year With my assumed "30%" (which *CAN* be horribly wrong) we get to the conclusion that the probability of getting killed in an accident on the american highway is 6,9 times higher than getting killed in an accident on the german autobahn. 0,64% of all 66250 people who got hurt in the first place got injured in accidents on the german autobahn got killed. Also not all accidents happen through the not existing permanent speed limit. Still there are a lot of people, who want a speed limit in the german autobahn. But as you can read from this text (assuming you believe in it, of course - I am not lying to you, I promise) all of these people are retarded. Thank you for reading all of this. I hope you learned something new. Have a nice day, or sleep, whatever the time is you are reading this. I also apologize in case my english is bad at some point, I am no native english speaker.

Another thing that 90% of american doesn't know even that they were driving for 50 years (and you missed it too) before turn in a red light you need to do an STOP (3 seconds) then turn right, you can not turn in any direction on a red light (blinking red too) before doing an STOP!.
I was a Deputy Sheriff in Texas for years. I drove a beautiful Caprice pursuit package cruiser that topped out around 315 kph. In those years, I was amazed at how many drivers were speeding because of "being late." And most could have departed for their destination sooner and wouldn't have sped. Nowadays, It's much worse with smartphones.
Where I live, if you drive up to 10 miles over the speed limit you are not speeding, you are "Wasting a finite resource (gas)" and the fine is $15. No one is ever sited for this as it cost too much to do the paper work, so you are not speeding until you go 11 miles over. This makes every speed limit here automatically 10 miles more than posted. also where I live no car has the right of way at a stop sign. Not the one on the right, the left or anything, the car that has the right of way is the one that usually gets to the intersection first (not officially) otherwise you just have to guess.

The ability to keep splitting things into halves, thirds, quarts, and sixths without needing decimals is very useful for woodworking even though he's from Germany and he started with the metric system.
*There's a reason why inches, feet, and yards are divided the way they are,* and "standard" sizes of things, like 48"x 120", might not seem very round at first glance, but they are much better to work with than 10 or 100, and that's because they are (along with 12, 24, 36, and 60 which all are pretty common Imperial lengths) highly composite numbers, which are by definition the roundest numbers.
This is where Imperial trumps metric; it provides useful fractions and fractions of the units can be represented by a whole number of the immediate lower unit (in Imperial) as opposed to decimals (in metric).
Imperial provides useful division and fractions which are needed in many fields and everyday life.
Also, it technically doesn't make sense to use grams for weight whereas it does make sense to use pounds for weight, because "grams" are a measure of mass (i.e. how much matter a given object has) so whether you're on Earth, the Moon, or Pluto, you would still have exactly X grams whereas "pounds" are a measure of weight (i.e. how much gravity a given object is experiencing) so one would have X, Y, and Z pounds on Earth, the Moon, and Pluto (respectively). Of course, in practice, a gram is used to measure weight.
Simplified: 12 gives you 2, 3, 4, and 6, whereas 10 gives you only 2 and 5 which is very little. 12 is one of the only two positive whole numbers under 20 which gives one four factors (the other being 18).
*Metric is based upon 10's whereas Imperial and the Imperial elements in USCS are based upon fractions.*
In other words, *you're comparing apples to oranges and saying that apples win and saws to hammers and saying that hammers win.*

"litteraly no one cares about imperial system in Europe"
Who is typing about what Europe cares about? I was not.
"England did but now they are not EU anymore"
Notice how you switched from typing about Europe, which is a continent, to the European Union which is an international organization. By the way, Ireland and Scotland continue to use the imperial system to this day as well.
Wiezymon the problem with imperial measurements is that they are not consistent i.e. gallon/US gallon. How much is a bushel? A peck? Im a carpenter, if need to find 0.3 of a mm I use a finer pencil, simple. Whilst your argument holds some weight, it’s not enough to give up the metric system just because it’s easier to divide certain measurements.
@@The-Real-Ando
If you wish to know, a bushel is 8 dry gallons, and a peck is 2 dry gallons, but note: These units are no longer used in the US or UK as far as I know.
2: The units are consistent within both countries, just not to the other country and there is no problem with that since said systems are used for the country in question.
3: I did not type or imply anything about giving up the metric system.

This is still, without fail, one of the funniest videos I've ever seen on this platform.
As an American car enthusiast, I can definitely second all of this. There are a few good ones though and it makes my day every time!

Sure the number of of citizens in the USA is about 3,8 times as lager as the number of citizens in germany so we need another value:
Germany (85 Million citizens):
0,499 killed people
------------------------------
100000 citizens
------------------------------
year
USA (327 Million citizens):
3,44 killed people
------------------------------
100000 citizens
------------------------------
year
With my assumed "30%" (which *CAN* be horribly wrong) we get to the conclusion that the probability of getting killed in an accident on the american highway is 6,9 times higher than getting killed in an accident on the german autobahn.
If you visit the US, forget about logical measurements or logical speed limits. Actually, forget about reason and logic completely because it has given way to madness. It will save you a lot of headaches trying to figure anything out.
Try to divide a length like a meter into sixths, fourths, thirds, and in half several times as is often the case building trades and tell me that 33.3333...cm is better than 1 ft or that 16.6666...cm is easier than 6 in.
I know two guys from Europe who all through high school said that metric was better. Years later, one's an architect and finally admits/concluded that imperial is better after working in the field for a few years and renounced the metric system. Metric (or SI to be more precise) might be better for physics (sciences/scaling), math, and on paper, (do not use) but in his practice and experience, Imperial is the way to go. (end)

As an Aussie that lived in Deutschland.... It was a love hate thing with Der Ampel. I liked how the lights go red, amber, green. I'm all onboard to start using the metric system. We yanks don't need to be obstinate in our refusal to use what is obviously the more reliable and widely-used system of measurement.
A reason why slow cars drive in the left lane that we tend to forget is those stupid left side entrance and exits. I don’t know any other country that don’t keep highway entrance and exits on the same damn side. Genius design.

Most of the states can turn left on red light when is 1 way street.

This is hilarious. As a german/american, who has lived in both countries, this is both accurate and lit.

It's a type of comedy, isn't it? 😂😂

I just want to point out that turning right on red will probably only work in the US where there are literally NO pedestrians compared to other countries. If there were always a lot of pedestrians waiting to cross, it'd be too risky I think.
with a green arrow irs allowed in germany too.Originally from the DDR
In australia they have it but in spain we dont
