- Disking corn stalks with our John Deere 4250 pulling a John Deere 635 disk. Also a special shout out to my nephew's class and their school Christmas project. #farming #dairyfarm #tillage #johndeere
The good old disk really breaks up those cornstalks and mixes it into the soil. Those gingerbread men are fast and sneaky. Happy Holidays Mike

@@mikep7810 disk is a go to piece to tillage if in a hurry and does a pretty good job at it no matter what it is disking and conditions

It did alright on the harder gravely ground. I used it down by the river and it worked harder
I used to pull the same size disk with a drag behind it with a 4230, it was all it wanted but it did it for 8 years with no problems......I was told the 4230 was rated at 100hp on the pto but when I had it in for service they hooked it up and pulled 114......no turbo. Just found you, great video..

Ah the 42 with the 42's, looked like it was doing a great job! Right there at the 6:40 mark I'm sure I saw gingerbreadman peeking out behind a tree there at the edge of the field. Those guys are so illusive!

Mike i think i saw the gingerbread man in the corner of the field watching you disk! As nice as your corn was this year thats a lot of good residue to put back in the ground. That tractor didnt even think a bout that disk.

We were driving by the stacked up pile of wrapped bales and I told my son it looked like a whole army of snowman!
Ya if u tried pulling it in plowed ground it would b different story. The lugging on the 466 engine is better than the 404 engine
Yeah I don't plan on using this on the disc all the time now. We only have 1 tractor with a 404 engine and I'd never put the disc on the 4040

It was in the tractor when we bought it. I just assumed it was part of the cab from the 80s

Don't you have heat in that Tractor, why are you all bundled up?
I do have heat in the tractor. Its a small field that didn't take much time at all so rather then take everything off just to turn right around and put everything back on I just left things on and didn't turn on the heat

Its a harder gravely ground. You can see the wheels are up and not spinning so bringing them up more is not going to do anything. What I need is a heavier tillage tool designed to go through and break up the stalks better, I just don't have one and I'm using what I have
