Offering a private walk-around bed plus surpisingly good kitchen and dining space it's about 11lbs of sugar in a 5lb sack.

Empty 3,691 lb.
Cargo 1,217 lb.

Blown away. Best no slide couples camper ever. Someone needs to make an aluminum structure with Azdel version which would lighten it up and give more carry capacity. I would pay more for that. Awesome camper!
I’d love am ember version of this
@@JoshtheRVNerd Josh, there is storage under the dinette right. ?? Also is the underbelly sealed and heated ? Price range?
Things I would like to see - One foot longer to accommodate a full queen, dual axles and dual propane tanks, bathroom door. This would be a winner!
I'd love a tandem axle version of this with a true queen!
There are 2 bathroom doors. Both are sliders.
In the bedroom it needs the hanging storage to stop a foot off the nightstand so you have a decent nightstand. Also, should be drawers underneath the nightstands. Thanks again Josh! You do the most thorough reviews!
That's a great idea! TY for watching! :)
They’ve made some nice improvements since the first version. My wife and I owned the first version with the slide out and after living with it for a year we found it had too many problems to keep it. The non-ducted AC made the trailer too hot in the summer time, the swing doors in the bathroom always got in the way, the round sink was actually very nice to live with but the thermofoil counter had its top separating after about 6 months, and not having a plug on the other side of the dinette was a killer.
All of these little private bed models have a centrally ducted air vent in the bedroom now thanfully
Though I'm sorry you didn't have a great experience with yours I am glad to hear they're moving the right direction!
Dinette AND private bedroom!! Masterpiece!!
You said, "twin beds" and I thought that would be great!! Cute little camper with lots of storage.
Awesome TY
My folks had a 1976or 77 Yellowstone, they ordered it brand new, as I recall it was 26ft. Same basic layout. It had a front "goucho" with a driver side wall mount table and a chair next to the stove. It then had a small metal and vinyl rocking chair made by Homecrest (they made office and patio furniture) The bed went east to west. We took that thing all over the place. It worked for 3 people. At 60 and having grown up camping I keep telling my husband that they need to look at some of the old layouts for "new" ideas
For a solo or couples camper, this would be great if it had a reclining sofa or theater seating option instead of the dinette.
Man that would be awesome
Can’t believe what a great kitchen- the counter space!! The storage! I never see using a HUGE sink and end up with no counter space between sink and stove
Thanks so much! 😊
This is great, no vents or carpet, great road mode access, private bedroom, and the bigger dinette which turns into a realistic bed. I love the window by the dinette too. It’s great they made some counter space
For a small RV I think it's pretty fantastic
Give me that camper without the dinette, put in a couch with a legune table instead and I am there.
I just had a similar thought!
I agree! Since it’s geared to single or couples camper, why so much dining seating? Couch with lagoon table(s) and flip up kitchen counter extension to right of cooktop would be great! Also prefer tandem axel for even better towing and safety. Thanks for the great videos Josh!
@@mikes79hey just curious after watching a bunch of his videos and reading this comment. Your thoughts on a solid option for single camper?
@@kappaline4probably my favorite travel trailer is the Bigfoot 25RQ. It’s all fiberglass, no slides, tandem axel, walk around queen bed, very high quality. They have one with front dinette and one with front pair of recliners. They are expensive but I think if I got one, it would be my last camper. Btw, I am 56yr old single camper with two dogs. Now have an Arctic Fox truck camper (love it) but as get older my want a travel trailer. Good luck in your search.
Really like the idea of 2 twin beds (you could make a 4 bunk model too) and then you have a giant loading isle from that rear access. Settle for the round sink to get the extra counterspace. Very neat camper!
Private rear quad bunk is an interesting idea..
This would be the top of my list if it had a bunk somewhere!
Oh man, quad bunk would make this so good for larger families Ballin on a budget❤❤❤
twin bed option would be great or make the cabinets next to the bed shorter for a full night stands on both sides
Thx Ken! :)
The round kitchen sink is perfect.
Ty. Good to know
Proud member of the RV NERD NATION.
love it! TY
My wife and I love this layout. We just bought one of these, but it doesn't have the windshield, and are picking it up today. We would have preferred a rectangular sink, but it's not a deal breaker. What would be nice is either a rail or a net across the front above the dinette seat to store chips, snacks, cookies, etc. especially since you can't put a front cabinet up there.
how do you like it now after two months?
Really like the layout of this one . Thanks
I do as well! I think it's one of their best
That space in the bathroom that you said that you would put a toilet paper roll, looks like a great place for a trash can also.
brilliant idea!
All campers should come with a showermiser in today’s manufacturing. No excuses!! Especially if they have a tankless hot water heater. Obviously the manufacturers don’t have tankless hot water heaters and have no clue about water consumption during water heating during initial start up. This and the 4 inch fart fan needs done away with all together. Seriously. Neither the showermiser or max air style vent fans are expensive. They are already charging top dollar for these things. They should include both the showermiser and a good vent fan. It’s just being lazy and cheap to not make these two things a mandatory upgrade from here on out. Please pass this along to the powers to be so possibly they can remove there craniums from there rectums. Thanks Josh. Great review as usual my friend.
I park camp myself and have basically no need for a showermiser because it would just be filling a fresh tank I need to also dump instead of grey
But for boondocking I totally get it
Excellent layout, they did a fantastic job. 👍
I thought so too. TY
Finally! On my wish list I designed a camper and this comes real close. I love the layout. I showed this to my wife; this is what we want. Now i just have to find a dealer close, Thanks Josh. 😍🥰🤩
That is awesome! Glad it’s close! What’s it lacking you’d like?
@@JoshtheRVNerd A lower price, lol. i appreciate the reply; i love your videos, been a long time fan. you do a great job, thanks again.
I really like this one! It should have a TV and DVD player and TWIN BEDS! YES! I am a solo camper who wants to be able to invite my adult daughter or BFF! Also, TWIN BEDS would be great for the Dog sleeping area.
This does feel like a good model for twins
But I always worry what happens to your wardrobe storage when you do that
@@JoshtheRVNerdu could move storage between beds and lose window or add two small windows on the head of the beds/ closet/ nightstands in middle
SO MUCH WOW! Thanks for showing us this one Mr The RV Nerd!! I may have to go and try to find one of these to walk through.
Hope you like it! :)
That is a well executed floor plan 👍
I think so too!
It's official .... I love that floor plan!
It’s so good!
Jackknife sofa with table option instead of u-dinette would be my preference. Everything else great.
Ty. Quite a few sofa requests
Very nice little baby camper!!!
I think for those who don’t venture too far from home is ideal.
You didn’t point out the microwave not being a convection but I guess they had to keep it simple for the space. Also convection ones are heavier. Still !!! Very nice for two people and maybe a kid or an over night visit!
Thank you Josh!!! 👍
In this series they kept it simple for budget reasons
That fiberglass and nose cap kinda make you forget it is a stick and tin camper made with a conservative budget target
I like this so much! I love no slide! The bedroom is really cool. You can walk right up to the closets. For us shorties, the bedrooms can be like a jungle gym to maneuver. It's easy and inexpensive to add struts to the overheads, so I don't see that as a huge deal. Thanks for the tour!
Thanks for the tips!
Love this . Great for a couple of a single guy who occasionally has an adult guest since that u dinette makes such a large bed . Also great for two guys hunting with two queen sleeping spaces. Great camper
Yeah I could totally see that!
Love love love! Unfortunately the cargo capacity not nearly enough for us.
I'm surprised at the storage. I've been looking for a small rv with a private bedroom. Cant believe they packed so much into this camper. Dont like round sinks, but this one seems bigger than most. Farm Sink with an extended folding shelf left of sink. Impressed with this little camper. I prefer a little larger rv, but need a truck! Lol 6k towing is all i have right now. Thanks for all you do!✌️🖖😎
Yeah this one jams a LOT into the space
Then again that also explains the low cargo rating..
I love the bedroom in the back of the camper with the great big cross breeze windows!
It’s amazing for a small rv I think
This is perfect. I even like the narrow cabinets by the bed. No more noggin knockin.
Lord knows I’ve done enough of that
Thanks for mentioning twin beds.
You bet
As small trailers go, this is one of the best layouts I have seen. You can get virtually anywhere with that one. State parks, provincial parks, national parks no worries. As far as the RV queen, I guess that is one of the advantages of being 5'9" 😁 No big deal for us. We have a bigger trailer than that now, but with the way we travel, a downsize might eventually be on the menu. Often on the road for multiple weeks at a time, but doing a lot of distance, and often in areas where campsites are tiny. Could definitely make this fellow work. Great review. thanks.
My pleasure! TY Shawn!
I truly enjoyed this video!! ❤From you complimenting that nice gentleman, to “shower beers” and “snitches get stitches” you sir are hilarious. While informing me of the specs I am looking for! Thank you! 🙏 😂
lol TY! I try to have fun
THIS IS AWESOME! I NEEDED a private bedroom and really was not sold on having to have a side and a walk through bathroom was never an issue. I really don't NEED the size camper I have, but it hit the marks I required without being too big. If THIS was around last year, it definitely would have been a consideration.
I think for a camper this size, that round sink is fine. sometimes I see the round sink on larger units with more counter space and it doesn't look right, to me. I would LOVE a TWIN BED VERSION OF THIS FLOOR PLAN!
Glad you like it! This one first came out in 2023 I think but it didn’t get a lot of notice until recently
@@JoshtheRVNerd I remember it, with the 'funhouse' doors on each side of the bathroom. They've really improved this model, nicely
Love the u dine. Love the huge windows and the front wind shield. Wish I had black out Shad’s. Wish it had struts on the over head doors. The cabinets look great! Love that has no outside speakers! Nice to see Drawers. I would like to see a bran sink. Like this one! Have a good weekend josh!
Shades are struts are thankfully things an owner could add later
They really would be nice
Wow I Love this camper! This floor plan is great or two twin beds in the rear would be great too!
Definitely!
I love it!
TY Britt
Nice trailer Josh . About the right size for my wife and I. It’s on my top five list . Thanks Josh.
Good choice! Thank you for watching!
That is a very nice little camper!! As much as I vacation camp, if it was just me, that would be a fun camper to have.
Ty! I think it’s a great little weekend run around camper
This is awesome. I would only add double axle/double propane tank. People cook! Everything else I love. The extra option for sleeping is a good thing for grandkids or a guest. Drawers and storage galore!!! I’ve been looking for 2 years. ❤❤❤❤. Ps. Round sink. Never had one but pots and pans are round so I don’t see why it would be weird🤷♀️. I’d have to figure out the weight as well. Hmmm.
Yeah it’s a good little camper
Totally love this trailer. I am a smaller square or small rectangle sink kind of gal. However that being said. If I was down sizing I love this trailer.
TY - I think square sink makes sense here
We have a 2006 feather light. That’s 21 feet long tip to tail. So about 19 feet of living space. No slide out. It is double axle though. Laid out almost exactly like this. It has the U-shaped dinette. With storage behind the cushion on the driver side. Our stove is in the corner. Across from the kitchen ( next to the entrance door)is a very spacious pantry and the refrigerator to the right of that. Across the back of the camper, we have a camp queen bed with the bathroom next to it. The only drawback, but it’s not really a problem for us, is that you have to crawl into the bed. our camper has so much storage in it, it’s the reason why we haven’t traded ours in and we like the smaller size because it’s easier to tow and to take into state parks
That one predates my time in the business but it sounds great. What is the model number?
@@JoshtheRVNerd it’s a TC-21DBL. Feather light trail cruiser 2006. I thought it was a short queen,but It’s a double.
Gravity friendly? You mean vertically challenged!! Keep the vids coming. You are definitely ahead of the curve when it comes to RV vids!
Josh I like it. Fits my bill. Place to stay.enjoy the stay
Exactly!!
I like the round one as long as the faucet is high enough to fill a taller pot so I have the extra counter space. I prefer the 2 burner stove as well. Thanks Nerd!! 😁
Good call!
WOW! Love this set up soooooo much. Oops forgot I was on channel instead my regular one. Oh well, I still love how this is laid out. I wouldn't carry water so this would be just fine.
Charmaine
Glad to have you
Josh pretty nice little Travel Trailer👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I like it!!!
For a small trailer, they did a great job in the layout. A few things I noticed; it would have have been great to have USB ports on each side of the small dinette shelf. Another thing, the TV mount position looks like it would cause the TV would partly block walking through the trailer. Also, roller shades would be a much better option.
oooh.. love that USB plug idea
Another great video, keep up the great job
Thanks, will do!
I cant wait to see what other companies take from this and adapt. I'd love to see variations of this floorplan!
Same!
Gorgeous! Now a version w twin beds!!
Could be great
Wow, looked at the available options and this one really benefits from the upgrade package! The stick & tin loses so many features and windows! Most of the upgrade packages seemed to just update to smooth walls but this really changed the trailer. Also agree, finally a windshield that makes sense!
I do think this in a dual axel would be a real winner.
Yeah it’s crazy how transformative the platinum pkg is
Really enjoy your informative videos. We will probably replace our camper this fall with the Cougar 22 MLS
Man I feel that's a great pick!
Okay now I’m in the right video. Love this layout. I have been looking for quite a while. This one ticks all the boxes. The cargo capacity was borderline but works for me. But I was willing to trade the cargo space for the upgrades over the non platinum version. The private bedroom and the large dinette is perfect for me. I loved this one so much I just purchased this unit from Bish’s in Anderson IN. Thanks Josh for the great RV reviews and the general info videos.
The standard non-platinum edition will grow the ccc a bit
If this dining table could telescope up a bit it could also double as additional kitchen counter space! Such a cool layout
It height adjusts - you set the height
I love this layout. Just wish it wasn’t built by forest river, sigh. Love your videos
What builder gives you the most confidence?
@@JoshtheRVNerd north wood, orv, Bigfoot, escape fiberglass, older winnebagos. As a solo traveler this layout great for me. The ones I listed just never change their layout like this
Ive looked at this again and like it. 👍
Thanks again!
This is nice! It's not too big yet it offers a lot. There is room for improvements, for sure.
The table- I'd have to move it around to see if I like it. I really like the Lagun because of it's versitility.
I've never worked with a circular sink, but there is no way I'd want a farm sink or even just a larger one taking up counter space. I love the verticle placement of the 2 burner stove, it's perfect. Look at the space it gives! Just warms my heart. The drawers are awesome! It's nice to see so many.
The window coverage is great, very generous, That dinette could have easily been cave-like without them.
I'd love to see a twin option with this. The queen is nice though, and the dinette would be fine for the occasional friend trip.
That is really tall hanging storage. I see a lot of space waste there. First, unless someone is bringing a gown along that is too much verticle space. Cut it in half and put a couple of drawers in, or a drawer and a shelf. As long as we are making it more useful, allow space for a side table area. Enough for a cpap, some open space for a book, tablet, etc. Overall, a nice little camper. I like the footprint. A bigger windshield would go a long way.
I like your idea for that hanging storage. Ty so much!
They should totally do this with 2 twin beds!!! You mentioned it, but you got distracted I think and didn't finish your thought. LOL. And they'll be longer than this short queen as well. I have the 179 DBKX right now because of kids. I love this one!!!
Oh I have a way of doing that
#SQUIRREL
Very nice thanks
I like this layout
I do too! TY
I can see a lot of positives with this camper. Kitchen storage is awesome. I don't have an opinion about the round sink because I haven't used one. The bath storage is nice. A tote for extra TP by the toilet, but it looks like a small trash can would be nice, too. Pocket doors are a welcome touch. Twin beds would be great with storage moved between them. But that would impact the under storage, wouldn't it? I would like to see a little more nightstand top, especially helpful for those who need cpap machines. Underbed storage is well appointed. I can see maybe taking a cube or 2 out for shoe storage. I like the storage at the bedside under the hanging closet, too. One thing I wish Forest River would bring back is the cooker hooker mounted in the side (like our 2015 rockwood 2109s) instead of under the camper. Josh, I appreciate the honest reviews you do. Pointing out the weight difference between the platinum and the reg siding is important information, thank you. Keep up the great work ❤.
We own the non-windshield variety. The layout is perfect for couples. We tow it with a mid-size pickup. Would like to see a true queen, but honestly, for the size/weight I can't complain. Also, I'm 6'6" tall, and i don't have to hunch over in the kitchen. Total winner.
Man I think that's a pretty solid review from an actual owner
Given the choice would you rather have the windshield or stay without one?
@@JoshtheRVNerd Definitely get the windshield to make the dining are a bit more open. The small side windows are nice, but sometimes it's nice to be able to look out.
I wanted to see this in person before I bought my AIM 16ML but couldn't fimd one close enough to me.
I love love love a rear bedroom. Probably still would have gone with the AIM because of the bigger kitchen, but this is really nice.
That AIM is fantastic. I am eager to see how you like it over time
Loving the lay out, it works well for my needs and love U shaped dinettes for stretching out across and the table setup is killer. Only deal breaker really is the tongue weight, My little FJ is topped out 500lbs, though 5000lb towing, if I didn't want to take or was going somewhere the old 7.3 powersmoker couldn't go.
Powersmoker lol
Tongue weight is 508lbs. Do you think that'd be too much for a 500lbs rated tow package? Thinking of keeping the propane and batteries on the opposite side while towing.
I like it , different 😊 Round sink in kitchen .😊
Thank you so much 😊
Nice single / couple travel trailer. I would like to see a list of travel trailers sorted by hitch weight so we small to 1/2 ton Tv owner can narrow our options searches. We know big rigs need big trucks but hitch weight is the deciding factor for many new and down sizing customer. Thanks Josh for this tour video
Always a pleasure!
Really love this layout, such a great use of space! I really like the awesome window coverage with the Platinum package. I didn't realize that package provided so many extra windows, so Josh's video was very helpful. I do prefer the larger farm sink, but also appreciate the amount of counter space with the current round sink. My only concern is the extra weight, I believe it's over 4000 pounds and personally I'd want double axles at that weight.
Platinum is the front window and window in the door. The rest are standard
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks! looks like some of the rear bedroom windows are bigger as well; so much natural light!!
Great video Josh
TY
Thanks for another great review Josh! Would definitely love a true queen and magnets for the overhead cabinets…would also love the seamless windows.
That would be cool!
I see so much thought and quality in this! Love it nerdle! Sorry. I’m making up new names for ya. 😅
Whatever works!
Wow! This one is awesome! But I have a suggestion for the bedroom, perhaps if possible put twin beds instead with the closet and cabinets in between the beds? Just a thought 🤔💭
A few other folks asked for the same. It's a solid idea I think
Love the format but I’ll wait for the 28 foot version with the 7 foot ceiling and the 8 foot width.
Keep an eye on ozark. Thats where you might find it
I wish more RV trailers featured ALL THE DRAWER SPACE
👍🏻 🙌🏻
Twin bed version would be fantastic!!!
I could totally see that
I was considering buying the first iteration of the 169rsk but there were a few small things I didn’t like about it. However, it looks like they improved almost everything I didn’t like. Plus that window nose cap caught my eye instantly when you first showed it off last year, but they weren’t doing it at the time I was looking to buy. All of this to say I very much like what they’ve done. My only critique now is no ducted heat. I’d love to see the platinum package of the 169rsk.
Yeah the few initial weird things like non-ducted air and swinging bathroom doors changing REALLY helped this layout
I hate that front windshield when it's in a bedroom, but with this floor plan it makes perfect sense. I'm not sure there is a better floor plan for a short term/weekend camping couple.
I *really* like the layout actually
I really love this smaller trailer especially the wrap around cushions with the adjustable table! Love all the drawers in the kitchen. Do not like the small round sink and why didn't they put drawers in that empty space in the bathroom? I am impressed that it has a separate bedroom. Thanks for all the wonderful videos you produce 😘
It’s a lot of work but it’s my pleasure!
Very nice trailer
Ty Paul!
Thanks Nerrrrdddddd!!!!
You bet!
Great for back country camping
Just remember it doesn't have any sort of fancy suspension
I like it!
me too :)
Very nice…as usual you’re too funny!
well thankya :)
I like this one.
I do as well! TY
Love your videos
Well Ty!!
Josh: There are several things I really like about the platinum 2024 Wildwood FSX 161QK. First, because there is no slide out, it 100% always passes the truck stop rest stop rolling bed, head and mess accessibility test. The fact that the head and bed can be separately compartmented off from the rest of the trailer is a plus. Ducted air is also a plus. It would be nice to know if the microwave is a convection microwave. Black tank flush is a good feature. The fact that it has a camp queen bed is not a deal breaker for wife and I. Nor is the smallish round kitchen sink. The sink can be worked around with a plastic “dish sink” on the counter. Won’t comment on the black water/gray water discharge because they weren’t shown. But as a camper, the rig needs a dual propane tank. The battery disconnect needs to come inside into basement compartment. You didn’t say if it has space for two batteries on the tongue; but this is essential. Somehow the Wildwood engineers need to find a way to increase the ccc by adding a second axel, or lightening it with double azdel instead of luan, or using aluminum framing instead of wood, but something. Without some fundamental camping driven changes, this FSX 161QK looks like a price point, entry level, first time camper purchase that will be quickly out grown by an owner’s actual camping experience. Sorry to be so critical of an RV that has so many good features but they are outweighed by the poor ones in my opinion. However, this 2024 Wildwood FSX 161QK will undoubtedly be perfect for someone. Respectfully, W.S.
As always I welcome and respect your level headed feedback!
I love this camper although weight may be a concern. I may have pocked this over our epro with the murphy bed - having a separate bedroom is cool!
It’s almost unheard of in single axles
Nice set up
TY
Stretched out just a bit longer and dual axles, twin bed option and accordion door for the shower compartment would be on my wish list. Having a gas cook top right next to the dinette seating is really dangerous in the event of grease splatters, boilovers or teens flipping their hair by the flame! I would swap locations of the sink and range top.
Slightly bigger dual axle version would be amazing
A twin bed one would be great
You sounded more like Thirston Howell III. 🤣🤣🤣 Anyway, nice video and trailer, definitely would’ve considered it if I hadn’t already purchased mine. A twin bed option would be fantastic.
😂
Love the this campers floor plan; would love to downsize from our GD 22MLE but the dated wood frame and NOT being Azdel. And I’m OK with at least 600lbs of cargo capacity.
I'd love to see a laminated builder make a go at this layout
Tandem axle, 8ft wide, 2 feet longer, 3-400Lbs more CCC= PERFECTION!
Man I’d love something like that
Twin bed option heck yes. I'd buy it 4 sure as a twin
Ty Brian!
Aside from the princess bed, this is pretty amazing, and what I'd definitely consider for the wife and I to just get out and go somewhere. I understand the need for the princess bed, more so for this plan than for most that actually have enough room for a real queen but don't have one. I think the round sink is fine for this kitchen, as they have really done a nice job maximizing the counter and storage space. The bedroom could use some tweaks, like maybe some drawers in the lower cabinets. I think magnetic catches of some sort would be a good thing for the overhead cabinets. The thing I like most about this plan is that it doesn't have a slide. I want basically a nice replacement for tent camping that's not a pop-up. And the reduced maintenance and weight is a plus. Extra bonus points for it being something that can be towed by something that I may actually be able to afford! Overall, I'd have to give this one a solid "A" and real consideration. Thanks for yet another excellent video Uncle Josh!
Yeah I think a slightly larger 2 axle version could be amazing
I like this very much. I need to compare it in person with the Jayco 212QBW. I am considering downsizing my full size truck to a midsize truck.
It’s definitely smaller. Otherwise it’s KIND OF the same layout flipped front to back
On the back, I think it would be beneficial if the tire was moved to the left a hair and the baggage door slightly larger to fit the camp chairs that fold on half, like the ones we use because you can't fit much in the front.
That's solid feedback actually TY
