The creative possibilities with this effect are endless! There are so many cool locations that are enclosed before night time so it makes it hard to access these to shoot videos. Thank you for posting!
Not exactly what I would say night, but it is surely a kind of style I would love to work with. It has a fiction feel in it. loved the idea behind. thnx
amazing, you are amazing. I was afraid because I didn't want to record in a forest at night and you are simply my savior. Otherwise I would be in the middle of the woods at night scared to death hahahaha
You should invert the alpha of the windows so the windows glow and not the frame and exterior wall around. This looks like odd exterior spot lights on the windows from the exterior/landscaping. I assume you were trying to make it look like lights in the rooms behind the windows where on?
Run Forrest ru.. I mean Jordy run, it's a trap. Nice video as usual, always a pleasure to see the gang having some fun and sharing knowledge as we;;, cheers from Dominican Republic guys.
why have I never heard of or seen this day for night technique lol. such a simple great concept that never crossed my mind xD. I feel like this technique would be very useful for those who have cameras that perform bad in low light but want to film night scenes
This doesn't look too bad but I tried to do it while having people in the shot and that is quite difficult. I can't make it look good. Is it even possible to make room with people look like it's evening/night time ?
Ryan Anthony so i geuss u like that high iso grain in ur shots? That really sucks monky balls, and using define or neat video wil make u lose details. If u want clean crisp shots day4night is an good option.
Ryan Anthony dude u ar an amateur.. i just seen ur footage its not so good als u might think ur self it is. 33 folowers thats what u have.. this channel does great things for poeple and the film quality is better.. sorry dude did not want to burst ur bubble.
Hi Dear I really learn from you . you awesome . I have question : I have shooting with canon 7d mark II in the low light situation all time my video is noisy. I setup like iso 100 F1.4 and shutter speed 1/50 fps. So why still my video is too noisy? I don't undrestand what is the problem, camera or my 50mm f 1.4 canon lens? Thanks
I know this is a little late, but try using the C Log profile. That'll help capture more dynamic range, which may help. Also, sometimes you just have to add light to a scene to make it work better. No camera will perform perfectly, but adding in light will always help.
Yet ANOTHER superb video tutorial!! I DO have ONE question though... WHAT IF the window (glass) arent "tinted" black and you could actually see the YELLOW-to-WHITE on the inside? Would you use the pen tool to create a mask for each window pane, add a color-overlay of a whiter yellow for brightness, add a glow to each and create a brighter effect? Would something like that work? **Do you have the project file available so I could try it? I'd even send it back if you wanted to do a part 2 to this video as a revised. version with "NON-Tinted" windows.
Thanks Jeremy! That would indeed be better, but more time consuming. Because the clips came from Videoblocks, I'm not sure we can share the project file.I thought about it after the tutorial, because normally we always share it with everyone.
OOoh, ok yeah that makes sense. And thanks for the idea props!! I've always enjoyed your tutorials!! It's wild how we cant get what some say, but we can understand COMPLETELY from others!! Keep rockin it man!!
Geweldig Jordy 👍🏻 ik ben toevallig net bezig met een project waar dit heel goed in past. Veel shots die op nacht moeten lijken. Zou je misschien een keer een video kunnen maken over hoe je licht invals stralen kunt creëren ?

@Dwayne Jorge lmao I've seen both of your exact same comments under other videos XD
2:33 that actually looks pretty good
I love how you didn't fuck around with boring stuff we don't care about and just gave us the tutorial we came here for. Awesome job mate!

So essentially you are color "correcting" it to night time with the lights. Pretty badass. I didn't really know this was possible.
Amazing content
I don't understand, why your lessons isn't so popular?
+TheMrCatSteve me neither :-)
coz of all the gibberish talk on the intro. No one like that.
And yet they have more subs than Film Riot
proud to be a subscriber of cinecom.net
thats what i was looking for thank you
This is better than the other tutorials
Actually it dont look like a night effect. It looks like the 5 am time at day.
With weak ass spotlights on the windows from the outside

why have I never heard of or seen this day for night technique lol. such a simple great concept that never crossed my mind xD. I feel like this technique would be very useful for those who have cameras that perform bad in low light but want to film night scenes

This doesn't look too bad but I tried to do it while having people in the shot and that is quite difficult. I can't make it look good. Is it even possible to make room with people look like it's evening/night time ?
yep youre right my curfew is 8pm .
THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!
verry good
If I have a moving figure it is possible and yet make the darkness?
Bruh thanks this is so helpful 🔥
i create an adjustment layer but when i lay it on the clip i can no longer see the clip to do draw the mask. What am I missing?
Is there a way to do this but with an internal scene, I essentially want to change the colour of the sky through the window in my shot
Awesome!!!
If you need something to look like Night, just SHOOT AT NIGHT! Day for night never looks as good and always has that post-processed look.
Ryan Anthony so i geuss u like that high iso grain in ur shots? That really sucks monky balls, and using define or neat video wil make u lose details. If u want clean crisp shots day4night is an good option.

maarten cornelissen name one major motion production in last 5 years that has done a day4night shot
i love this tutorial
nice tip !
maybe turning on the lamp post would give better effect.
You can always say that there is a general blackout and that the glow on the windows come from candles ;-)
can we save the effect in a folder or so if we need to make another photo dark?
love you bro
love you very much...You mey awesome.!!
I really love this! Might use it for a new intro for our vlogs.
+Xscape thanks!

I can't get the spot light to move. You say to "position the cone to get the light to move" and I can't get it to do it. Help!
Geweldig Jordy 👍🏻 ik ben toevallig net bezig met een project waar dit heel goed in past. Veel shots die op nacht moeten lijken. Zou je misschien een keer een video kunnen maken over hoe je licht invals stralen kunt creëren ?
+maarten cornelissen thanks! Dat is meer After Effects werk. Kijk eens bij Andrew Kramer voor zo iets.
Cinecom.net bedankt voor de tip 👍🏻.
what is the cs6 equivalent?
Hi. If there were people in the shot, would they look normal with all these effects going on?
+alloneword154 I've tested it on a crowd and it looked good, but haven't yet on a medium shot or something of someone. Good point!
Nandri anna 🤝
Good video bro 😎

Damn good.. U hv set new imaginary level.. And who d hell that 29 dumb dislike this vdo
