Producing a Kdrama is never an easy thing: there’s lots of people involved, lots of funds needed, and numerous tasks and steps to be carried out. However, one simple mistake can jinx the entire thing, leading to heavy consequences like a total re-edit, broadcast delays, or worst of all, cancellation. Today, let’s learn of Kdramas that had been a tad too unlucky, and the reasons behind them.

As someone who watch river where the moon rise, even with re-shooting and changing main lead, the drama is still so good. Only ep 7 and 8 came out weirdly because they really rushed the reshooting for the scene that involve main lead. But other episodes are just fine. I think Joseon Exorcist has the chance to be reworked again. Honestly, the plot sounds great! But they just need to remove all “Chinese” stuff and change the name of the characters named after real people… In other words, they should make it more fictional. Heck, they should change the setting and say: “oh, this is not Korea. This is the kingdom [insert random name] in the continent of [insert random name].” That way people shouldn’t complain about something being Korean or Chinese.

There are many ''bullying'' scandals that supposedly happend were around the time when the actress/the actor or the idol were around 10-13 and I guess the claims were also mostly exaggerated and sometimes even a complete lie.
But the claims that were made against Jisoo were pretty severe. I mean, the people who came up with this talked about some serious matters and their stories matched + he admitted to it expect for the sexual abuse. If the claims were wrong or exaggerated he should (and probably) would have never admitted to it cause it was not just one situation or some situations. The people literally describe him as the leader of the school bullies in high school (around 15-18) and he would have constantly picked on people, humiliated and beaten them over several years. That is really something else and not just a mistake you make as a 'kid'. Unless he went to a really good therapie and apologized to the people before starting an acting career I also wouldn't think of him 'changing into a better person'. The time between his debut and high school were also not that long....

"While the Hanbok of Joseon Dynasty certainly had tremendous amounts of influence and inspiration from Ming-era Han Chinese clothing, saying that it’s just some second-rate imitation of it shows an extremely shallow understanding of BOTH nation’s historical clothing.
Hanbok is a unique combination of Ming-era Chinese informal clothing, Mongolian influenced hairstyles leftover from Goryeo dynasty, and native Korean styles, patterns, and cuts.
And people forget that fashion isn’t and was never a stagnant thing. Fashion back then, just like today, changes as decades went on. Even if the Hanbok during the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty had next to zero difference to Ming-era clothing, by the end of the Ming Dynasty it was certainly very distinguishable. Especially in women’s clothing and in hairstyles. Cuts became slimmer and tighter on the torso and the skirt became longer and fuller.
Of course this is just a few very basic examples."
I took this from Dave C.J. Kim, B.A. Classical Literature & Political Science, Concordia University, Montreal (2022) who said it perfectly in the first paragraph. This is from the Quora forum which supplies a bunch of evidence and different point of views.
      www.quora.com/There-has-been-recent-controversy-regarding-the-origins-of-Hanbok-Chinese-are-stating-that-the-Joseons-Hanbok-owes-100-back-to-Chinese-Hanfu-while-Koreans-are-stating-there-are-some-unique-elements-How-much-of-the#:~:text=Because%20they%20were%20both%20heavily,essential%20design%20elements%20to%20Korea.
I'm just leaving this here in case anyone comes after me, I think Korean and Chinese culture are both unique and really interesting in their own ways, I don't think either is superior to the other or anything like that, it's just annoying to see such a pointless debate distracting us from appreciating the two cultures

@@moomin2165 koreans did not claim their culture is superior , they are simply protecting the claim on their culture . Fashion influence is normal and common but that doesn't mean the one they got influence from can claim their traditional cloth as theirs( the one they got influence from ). You probably did not understand the problem here at all. Two different country can have eerily similar cloth as traditional cloth but each own theirs. For example both India and Bangladesh got Saree as traditional cloth but they are different in both country, Bangladesh's traditional saree are Zamdani,Maaslin, Rajshahi silk etc while India got Benarasi, kanchipuram etc , one can't claim other as poor imitation and get away with it . And in this case china claimed hanbok as poor imitation a cultural theft which is very offensive and ridiculous tbh

The Jisoo scandal got so out of hand it was crazy. The police even reported that most of the people that accused him of bullying where lying and not even students at his school, just hater that wanted to create drama for clout.
Like the person that accused him of SA, only one “source” claimed this and was later proven by the police to be an anti fan that just wanted to ad fuel to the fire and ruin his career because Jisoo was popular among female fans and he was jealous. Even the other victims that accused him of bullying stood behind Jisoo and said that the SA rumour was not true at all.
So many times antis jump on a rumour and twist it to crazy places just to see the star fall. It’s been seen time and time again. Some people just want to see other suffer.

    • @annegreengables6367
      @annegreengables6367 2 роки тому +32

I don't believe you know the facts of this case. Many victims reported that Jisoo beat, robbed and humiliated them consistently for 3 years. Jisoo did not deny those accusations, in fact he admitted them. There were MULTIPLE accusations of sexual assault. One accusation popped up late in the story and did not match the others. That was the only RETRACTED sexual abuse accusation. The others still stand. That one retraction followed so very quickly and publicly. I suspect Jisoo's management team staged that ONE accusation and ONE retraction. Their trick worked brilliantly, because fans think that ALL of the sexual assaults were retracted . There is no police report and the police were never involved in this scandal. Jisoo's management agency said that they would investigate these accusations. They closed the investigation three days later. They are not law enforcement or private investigators. Frankly, how could they conduct an investigation in 3 days? Yes, there are nasty Korean netizens that tear down public figures without cause or for trivial matters. However, there is substance to these accusations. Jisoo's written apology confirms that also.

This situation is more a failure of the system that aided heinous behavior from a kid. But there is no way, a person who improved their mental health to realize it was wrong and become a better person as an adult should have to deal with this crap in their professional life. Yes, the school should have expelled him and his fellow bullies. However, this does not let Jisoo off the hook. Jisoo's behavior was sadistic and persisted for 3 years. Jisoo also chose his victims very carefully, so he calculated his actions. His victims are still dealing with the trauma, so Jisoo can deal with these truths in his career. I waited for his reunion drama with Kim So Hyun with so much anticipation only for him to be canceled and had to exit the production. I'm not Korean and I am not aware of the intensity of his bullying accusations I had to rely only with write ups available on line. But it did slightly affected me cause I loved his past characters from his previous works, thus the anticipation. I just really feel bad that it affected a lot of people.
I just recently concluded watching the series and although I appreciate In Woo taking the job to make the production still possible, I can't help but to still wonder how the previous casted actor would have pulled off some scenes he did. I intentionally postponed watching the series until its conclusion so I could binge (and I'm glad I did cause I saw the whole series from ep 1 with In woo in it already) it made it possible for me to cast aside excessive comparison. In the end, I didn't quite like how it wrapped up but I love Kim So Hyun so much that I wouldn't let this one pass no matter how many controversies it faced. The hanbok theft and kimchi war had me chuckling though still sad about Joseon Exorcist. I'd only heard about the moon cakes and couldn't fathom why the Koreans were making such a farce over fiction because to me it was Joseon and Zombies but i fully understand now i know of all these other issues. The CCP did an amazing job infiltrating Hollywood and i guess you'll know they've done the same for kdrama when they start claiming everything as theirs. For this reason i hope netizens remain sensitive about these topics as i worry CCP is already infiltrating but perhaps not yet with enough influence in SK.

Joseon exorcist makers need to be cautious. Just change the leader name to something else. Not to mention Chinese foods. Nd i guess they can aired the episode.
Actually if something like this controversial thing happen in india, our film maker just cut scenes or change named but they would never cancel.

No 1, i still remember when seo hyun addressed this matter. Everyone thats been waiting to see Yohan act, blame her for causing controversy. Even go as far as belittling her acting ability to justify the production for refusing in taking her as the lead. "Its ur fault for declining other offer, why would u blame the production. Its their choice to change anytime" wthell, its called dedication. Every professional actor actress does that -to focus on one contribution at a time. Esp when u're lead. Why u biching just because its HER? Who would know, the production team would ghost her after handing her the role, just so that the girl would back away on her own. i hope this ppl would walk the same talk if the same injustice happened to their fav one day. Im disappointed on them really..
